I still don't know if this guy likes or doesn't like the CLA 45. It's boring because..., it's not boring because... The only apparently genuine issue was the "lurching" and "squeaking " in town traffic. Having driven a CLS 45S in the UK, I can say this car is whole-heartedly anything but boring. My only personal issue with that car was the level of road noise from the tyres.
I have the CLA45s and I adore it, the performance seats are brilliant (long journeys not that comfy as expected). The only downside is the pumped in engine noise through the speakers, but for me, that’s nothing an exhaust system can’t fix (which is on my to do list).
5 months back, I was debating against getting a Porsche 911 or a bmw m4. I decided on getting my second car. I decided to get my 2014 cls 63s am. This car is amazing it defies all physics and it’s fully optioned and looks insanely cool. What made me choose this car over the others is that their are so many people that have m4’ s and 911’s. T I already have a w204 c 350 mercedes and not going to trade it in because it’s actually really reliable daily.
There's a few this I started to notice with my car that I don't like. For example creaky noises from some panels in the dash have become more apparent after a year with the car. When driving at low speeds the car feels like it's a stick shift. Like when you let of the clutch to fast when shifting doesn't feel good at all. My girls honda feels more of a luxury car at those speeds. Maybe why the seats are so uncomfortable to you is because you don't have the full leather ones. Overall I like the car more than what I dislike from it.
Sounds like you got issues dude...You complain about it then say you love it, meanwhile you have a wristband on your arm like you're trying to show the world you like to party. Super cringe
@@RossReviewsau I consistently get 3.7-3.8 on a good surface with mine. Ive only raced the older version on a roll race and he was a tiny spec in my mirrior. Also bear in mind I have stock all season tires on as well.
I’ve had mine for a year now and I’m still not sick of it yet. It’s my first ever custom ordered AMG and I still love it. Every time I come up to a crotch rocket or an STI or an EVO I just wanna race it. It’s true what the commercials say, “Mercedes’ Benz, the best or nothing”. Except it’s more like “AMG, the best or nothing”.
I’ve had mine now for just about a month and I absolutely love it…however my one big complaint is the Burmester system…def lacks low end but even more annoying is how the speakers seem to rattle the heck out of the doors when the audio is turned up. Any other CLA45 owners experience this? Any solutions?
Mine has the same problem and it’s 2021, I think you can get an upgraded burmiester system. But a good way to look at it is you won’t be able to hear the insane noises your cla makes with the loud music.
@@ardianballazhi6253 I do have the only $800 Burmester upgrade available for the 2021 but still have the rattling/vibration noises. Wondering if looking into getting something like Dynomat sound absorption or deadening mats installed will solve it?
I had the option to get the C63 or CLA 45 and went for the CLA 45 and haven’t regret it. I just think the CLA 45 looks much better even with the upcoming c63 design.
I got rid of mine after 5 months. So many reasons, build quality sucked, I mean for 75k it shouldn't rattle like a 25 year old Kia. I did ok on the trade-in, 63k and I paid 64k, it is a good market for used cars and mine was sub 2k miles but I will never buy a entry-level AMG again. Good luck with yours.
Very few people who have not experienced it for themselves realize that a $36K car loaded up with faster engine, brakes, electronics, and features is still a $36K car. That is why I would NEVER buy this new (even though I really like it). Same reason I don't buy Mustang GT350 or Charger Hellcat new; they are $35K cars inflated to $80K. Now, go buy a car whose BASE price is $75K and even with no options it will blow your mind out of the water compared to a CLA 45 at that price. Always keep that in mind...
@@trevorsutherland5263 I know this, I had a RS3 which is basically a A3. I like hot-rodded smaller cars but that is no excuse for Mercedes to deliver this crap. My RS3 was rock solid. Lesson learned on Mercedes. I got a new M3C and without talking about the grills the car is light years ahead of the CLA45.
I totally agree with you. The more I drove it the more I hated my 2020 CLA45. Only 5k miles. I got lucky that a dear hit me and it was a total loss. I’m glad it’s out of my life. I will never by another MB trash.
car def isnt boring if you really wanted you could go stage 1 which is just a tune and it will make 510-530 hsp its pretty insane. Pretty nice though to have a fast car that can still get 30mpg.
The lurchy thing isnt the engine its a transmission thing cuz its a dct so obviously its gonna be more sensitive especially in traffic to fix that all you got to do is not have a heavy foot and learn better throttle control tbh
I had an issue with the transmission lurching and jerking but this was fixed by the dealer re-flashing or re-learn the transmission. It's basically like doing the brake in period over again and it hasn't happened ever again. Also I know what you mean by the sputtering and chirping I've experienced that too however I haven't found a fix yet. I believe it's transmission related because it goes away as soon as the car shifts into gear this only happens in neutral or park and only when the car is warmed up. I'll let you know if I find a fix. I low-key got the dealer service center by the balls because I caught their mechanics joy riding my car in 4k via dashcam. Also I have the AMG Performance Seat Package this really made a huge difference I've already done a 4 hour road trip with 0 issues and I usually get major back pains.
in 4k baby ! but yeah its SO WRONG ON SO MANY LVLS ... someone to joy ride when you have to work on the car and you don't know the owner and you are at fucking work..
i just bought mine its a 2021 cla 45 4 cylinder. I had some engine issues as well regarding soundz. Unfortunately, when i took it to the mercedes dealership they charged me a hefty bill of just above $2000 canadian but in still having the issue. Defenitely the last mercedes I buy
I have the performance seats and I don’t need to adjust it much. Although I find that the center console does not offer support which makes it uncomfortable over long periods.
So I saw a cool Mercedes today but the thing I’m so confused about is that the front of it looked exactly like a C63 but the back of it looked exactly like a CLA45 and it was a two door but when I went to looked it up online to see what type of Mercedes that was I couldn’t find it anywhere so do you know what it’s called if you have seen one? Or is it just a mod they did to their C63 or something cause I’m so confused
@@SeanyMacks yeah it was I surprisingly saw the car yesterday when I went to some shops and I had to ask the owner about it and he said he got the back end of the car custom made from a friend of his a while ago to make it kind of look like a cla 45. His friend definitely did a great job on it and tbh I didn’t even know people can even do that. It looks a lot cooler up close compared to seeing it quickly drive past me the other day lol
@@Atte123 a 43 amg has a V6 and a 200 only a V4. So what do you recommend. I’m searching for an sporty car with nice quality. It could be a sedan ore a coupe suv
@@abdelos5953 for example audi rs3 (so much more sporty and looks better, sounds better and has much better performance), a bit older c63, bmw 650i, M5 f10, audi S3 sedan, audi rs3 or something like that. Every single car i mentioned is IN MY OPINION better that a c43 that has fake exhaust tips, boring engine sound, bad performance and looks so same compared to the amg line version. Would be a big, big downgrade compared to a cla45.
Yes, I have to agree on the seats, it's shitty, been having neck and back aches over the past 8 months driving it. Burmester's nothing fun in this, music's been sounding shitty as well. Nothing on this car is comfortable. And yes i do have the squeaky sound from the engine and stutters at times. Otherwise, it's a really really fun car to drive, flies all time.
