So you shot a bear and didn't go look for it and then shot an elk? Bad form. You should have left the bear for an hour or so and then went to look for it. 8 inches of penetration will get the lungs and if the broadhead is still in the bear then it will continue to cut as it works it way in. That bear deserved better than that! I grew up hunting bear, elk and mulies in CO and I never failed to try and recover game.
Maybe you misunderstood me in the video, I recovered the arrow and I only had a couple of inches of penetration. That is not a fatal shot on any big game animal, the way my arrow bounced out it must have hit front shoulder, therefore no vitals were hit
