Unlike a certain red team, Renault isn't heartless and gives Daniel no reason not to give his all, despide leaving. If i was Vettel i wouldn't even bother trying to put their spare throwaway car in the points, guess he is too nice to do that to a team he once admired.
Ricciardo and Hulkenberg's drive are my top favourite of this race. To see Hulkenberg starting from stone dead last and ended up in P8 is dead impressive.
@@perspii2808 His pace is bad. Although he finished 8th, what the point of congratulations! 4 drivers get a mechanical failures should get a point(Bottas,Ocon,Albon and Norris)
The race full of records: - Hamilton ties Schumacher's record of race wins - Russell ties Takagi's record of scoreless amount of races - Raikkonen beats Barrichello's record of most driven races - Hulkenberg improves his own record of most races without podium Also: -Renault's first podium since 2011 -And Cyrill has to get a tattoo (GG)
Decent race tho- 1. Albon was embarrassing. Checo is definitely close to getting that seat now. 2. Hulk was amazing. 3. DRic on the podium again. 4. Grosjean finally came through with a brilliant performance.
Albon destroyed Kvyat’s wing and race, locked up and ruined his softs so he had to pit very early, locked up and ruined his mediums so he had to pit again, got passed by the Renaults and Perez and Lando, went wide at turn 1 more than once, couldn’t pass Gasly when he had fresh tyres, nearly locked up and went into Gasly at T1, complains that people are racing him “too hard”. It genuinely looks like Red Bull pulled the plug on his race because of how poorly he was doing.
Well well well.... I have to say that Red Bull cares for Verstappen and ONLY Verstappen! Albon is new and needs support and love to get where he should be🙄
The fact Hulkenburg only did 4 laps in qualifying, started P20 and ending up in the points is really impressive. Definitely deserves a drive for next season.
Especially considering that car would just have a baseline setup as it didn’t complete any practice laps. Nico did a superb job. That’s the kind of drive that proves he’s still got it.
Hulkenberg went from having a nice relaxing Saturday morning to finishing in p8 in a circuit he had barely any practice in and hadn't raced in 7 years and all that from starting last. Seriously this guy has so much talent a team should really sign up for next year
@Gravity's Rainbow, I don't blame them though, especially Albon. Both of them are in a team built around another driver 's strengths, quite different from their own (Vettel likes a strong rear while the SF1000 has a loose rear; The RB16 steering is sharp, which Albon doesn't like). But Vettel has been making way too many mistakes, whereas Albon is just usually off the pace.
@Gravity's Rainbow Love how people seem to forget that Red Bull came out and told us he's in the GP2 version of their design for the season. He's a glorified test driver to inform the strategy development for Max and that's all.
@@offbeatpeers6863 hulk was literally racing in someone else's car and set up as he couldn't change it due to parc ferme, albon isn't cut out for f1 as was made apparent by his comment when racing gasly
One of them will replace Albon at Red Bull next season. For each of them, that would be a big promotion... Albon crying 'they are racing me so hard', was his exit quote.
Would like to see hulk suits more in Red Bull than perez.. Perez can be highly competitive at times but hulk will give max his place but still score points heavily.... Both drivers would score double the points of Albon did
@@PAULSWorld131 True, but it'll be similar results until they commit to spending time on their second driver as well. So are you sure Albon will be out next season? Also when did Albon say that?
For Perez and Hulkenberg that's really a great achievement. For Hamilton..... nothing miraculous about that. He's got the best car which almost never breaks. With such a car it's actually a failure if you don't score podium in every race.
Goes to show how much of a high caliber driver danny is. Even when he's stuck in a mid tier team, he still manages to gain points and make a mark. I hope the McLaren move will bear fruit. Much love for the honey badger!
@@NOS2IeX Max is not the best driver alongside Lewis, I agree he is a great driver but not the second neither the third. Give respect to Sebastian and Kimi who are the other world champion on the grid. These guys are not washed up they still have their groove and are above Max. In two years Max will probably be one of the best on the grid, but we must pay attention t Gasly, Norris, Russel, and to some extent Leclerc.
@@jalheeljalhe5799 Back when the Ferarri could still compete, Verstappen consistently outclassed Seb in a slower car. Max is better today then Vettel was at his peak, and Vettel is not at his peak anymore. Kimi is washed up, he's consistently out raced by his teammate. Kimi, despite his championships, is now one of the weakest drivers on the grid. Max, Ric, Bottas, Leclerc are all better then Vettel right now - this happens to all drivers as they get older.
Daniel doesn't decides how big it will be He decides what kind of tattoo it will be and the team principal decides where it has to be and how big it has to be.
-Hamilton's record equaling 91st win -Kimi's record breaking race starts tally -Danny Ric podium -Vettel spins again -Hard charging Max -Rare Mercedes reliability issues -Hulkenberg storms from P20 to P8 -Grosjean impressive P9 What a race👏
I hope Ricciardo or someone close to him reads this comment. In a post race interview he said, “ probably something to do with me, but I think with a German flavour. This is the place we did it so it will have a little tip of the hat to something traditional in Germany as well.” A honey badger in lederhosen would fit the specs.
Fortunately, Ricciardo manages to give the Renault wings and even ahead of Albion in the Red Bull. Meanwhile Ricciardo is 4th in drivers and Ocon 12th with less than half the points. Red Bull paying him 6mil in 2018 is a joke they should be kicking themselves
7th team to finish on the podium this season, last time that happened was in 2012. Only Haas, Alfa Romeo and Williams havent had a podium finish this season.
Exactly why people think (rightfully so) that mclaren is the big problem here. His 2020 was phenomenal and he was a top 3 driver in terms of performance, so the drop to a bottom 5 performer makes no sense
So pretty much Albon: -Immediatley flatspots his softs -Immediatley flatspots his mediums -Take out Kvyat -Gets 5sec penalty -Almost takes out Gasly -Whines on radio that the AT are not letting him pass No wonder RB had to retire him mid race for ".......car issues" for him to stop shaming himself and the team XD
RB builds a racecar around the driving style of Max and expects the 2nd driver to be as confortable with the car as max. Albon doesn't help himself also by being impatient and blaming his errors on others/the team. I won't be surprised if Perez gets the 2nd RB seat next year. Tsunoda to come at Alpha Tauri.
@@killraz0r481 yeah, but don't think that I hate kvyat, but he's looking worse than gasly in this season, but that's not his fault, and if tsunoda will come to f1, kvyat's career is over, and also mazepin can come to haas or alpha tauri
About Hulkenberg getting a seat next year: In a german interview he said that first he was disappointed to not be able to drive Nurburgring in "the one year [he] is not driving for F1", so maybe that was a hint towards him getting a seat next year? :P
@@josemucir I think everyone will agree they are both amazing drivers and both deserve the seat and everyone will be happy if either of them get it... right guys?
Man, one of the most exciting parts of the race was watching Perez slowly closing the gap to Ricciardo for a podium spot with 15 laps left and fresher tires, Ricciardo feeling the pressure and talking about a plan B, then the safety car changed all, but pretty exciting race!
@@jaycee4160 If not for the first VSC it would have been Ricciardo podium anyway. Clearly running in 3rd, some soft-medium strategy as Checo. Checo would have still had to get past him. Unsure how much Ricciardo was saving. Plan B, 2nd stop for fresh softs, would have been interesting, having to get past Sainz and Checo with 10-15 laps to go. There are so many 'what-if' scenarios.
Playing politics,, many drivers should have never been behind the control of these cars,,they are designed for the best drivers available at the time, this is not a pay driver sport, cash deos not buy talent,,the car does not drive itself,,Lauda,
@@CrLe100 i mean he is NOWHERE this season.. if he would at least be always P4 when Max is fighting for the win literally every race in the same car. Gasly should return (not only because of his win).
@@atom5k563 lol what? He just literally drove in front of him waay to early and choped of his front wing. He gave up later because of his power unit, yes. But thats not the reason for the crash. Btw he's blown it with his flat spot earlier anyway.
Fun facts that happened this race: Nurburgring’s first race in F1 since 2013. Daniel Ricciardo gets his first podium since his win at Monaco 2018. Daniel is also the *10th* driver to have a podium this season. Because of that, he becomes 4th in the standings. Renault’s first podium in Post-Lotus era and first podium since the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix (pre-lotus, pre-lotus renault too) Top 7 drivers in this race are in different teams, those 7 teams also have at least one podium this season. (Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren Renault, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Alpha Tauri Honda, Racing Point F1 Team, and Renault in order.) Nico Hülkenberg DOTD. Max Verstappen Fastest Lap Lewis Hamilton equals Michael Schumacher’s win count. Grosjean’s first points this season, because of that, the Williams drivers George Russell and Nicholas Latifi are the only ones left that haven’t scored a point yet. George Russell becomes the last driver in the Championship Standings. Kimi Räikkönen sets record with the most race starts. Because Lando Norris retired in this race, Lewis Hamilton is the only driver who hasn’t got a retirement. (I excluded the 75% rule, if I included it, Daniil Kvyat will also be one of the 2. I also classifed as DNS and WD [withdrawal] as a retirement. If i didn’t classified those, Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez will also be included.) Lance Stroll becomes the 3rd driver who hasn’t started in a GP he is supposed to be in (Sergio Pérez, Nico Hülkenberg [I classified Withdrawals as DNS.]) Also a fun fact: 4-11th only have a 27 points gap. Lewis Hamilton’s gap to Bottas is 3x over the gap from 4th-11th.
Just here to appreciate Danny Ric's move on Leclerc at 1:09 . The subtle drift the to the inside that forced Charles to cover it off, only for Daniel to juke to the outside and get better traction out of the corner. A real animal in the right car
For someone driving last year's championship car it is extremely bad not getting past P4.. The only thing keeping the pink taxi off the podium is the terrible drivers.

Also, turn 1 at the Nürburgring, Germany, is "never disappointing" like the whole of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Hope this track can be return one day later.
They are like one team I don't understand how the team can let them ruin their races. They were also on different strategy. These 3 guys are not able to work together just because they want to impress team managment it is madness. (Not geting into Albon pace)

I'm sorry for Albon, but after this race I think RB has no other option than replacing him. Throughout the entire season he's miles behind Max and there are drivers like Hulkenberg and Perez who just perform much better and dont have a cockpit for next season.
@@ginadewenter4968 Ich weiß, aber ich glaube nachdem Gasly und Albon jtz beide ein Flop waren, kann mir vorstellen, dass RB mal ausserhalb des Juniorkreises nach Ersatz sucht.

Lando is frustrated because he knows he needs the podiums to get onto Ferrari and Mercedes radar. Otherwise his F1 career, like so many others before him could be oh so short and sweet....
MB Nah, engine issues just were prominent today. Lando had engine issues as well but had no issues with tires. Perhaps a lack of practice affected the prep work behind the scenes, but who knows.
@@PolarArctica But in fact, Norris did a very excellent race no matter the issued was. He should deserved to be Driver Of The Day alongside with Ricciardo.
Watching these highlights after the 2021 season and you can truly appreciate what an incredible job Max and Red Bull did last season. 2020 was such a procession man!
The Imposter it’s was just a lock up. Why is it such a big deal. Does that immediately put him In last or what. He could have just made that time up. Do you have something against him or what

ADITYA MEKA nobody is saying it wasn’t read my comment clearly again. Hulk without a doubt was driver of the day but that doesn’t change the fact that Checo also had an amazing race.
It was a great race from Perez. Fantastic show of his skills to win a seat next year. Little fact: it took Stroll 2 races with Perez out sick to outscore him 28-22; Perez just overtook him with a single race to make it 68-57. But Stroll's 2 DNFs in Tuscany and Sochi didn't help; that helped Checo catch up by 22 points.
If not fr last safety car.. The battle btw Perez n dani ric would have been the highlight of today's race... In last few laps.. Perez was closing -0.7s from ric
Yeah its a shame really... I don't think he is a horrible driver or anything, just think he was out of his zone today. He proved he can get a podium but this race was really harsh on him. He gotta focus up more or he will find himself out of RB very quick thats for sure.
Roy Liber Yeah, people are quick to blame it on Albon, but he’s not a horrible driver by any means. He’s probably a midfield driver in terms of skill. It’s just that Max is an extraordinarily skilled driver and as a result, the strategies tend to go in his favor to help him win.
@@royliber3824 he did alright this weekend. He qualified 4 tenths behind max which was the target for him according to Helmut. Then an unlucky lockup at the start mwant he had to pit early. He made loads of overtakes and then kvyat started accelerating too much as Albon was going on the racing line which caused the collision. Then he was never able to get close enough to Gasly on the straight because of engine issues.
I got hooked up to F1 because of the 2005 european GP and the battle between Kimi and Alonso in the Nurburgring, 15 years later still watch F1 with the same passion, I just hope it gets exciting with true rivalries on track

A very disappointing day for Albon. Being an F1 driver, how can he complain about being raced so hard? I guess he has simply lost the strength to come back from difficult situations. Right now, it won't be surprising to see Checo in that seat next season.
I'm a Checo fan but honestly I'd rather have any driver (even Grosejan) instead of Albon. I don't like him but is so frustrating to see him do nothing.
Albon needs to be removed from that RB seat immediately, the fact that he made that comment today about being raced so hard... he doesn’t belong in Formula 1
Albon" why do they always race us so hard" Serioulsly dude ? You have the second best car of the grid and you dare say that The question is: WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE IN A TOP TEAM.
Yeah, hard race for Alex while Leclerc was "having fun" going through the same grid in his tractor. Alex seems totally smashed with high expectations. ((

Assuming he has a next race. The body language and expressions of the team when he got back to the paddock was pretty grim. He's on his last straw with them, you can tell. idc what Horner tells the press. Remember, he had the same song and dance about Gasly and then boom, He's back at Toro and then Albon finished the season in his seat.
