I grew up in a farming area and I like watching this channel. I tell y'all you'll never forget the smell of ammonia. I remember having to test for it in Organic Chemistry when I was in college.
Very good explanation of anhydrous except maybe explaining that it is a liquid as long as it is under pressure but when released it turns into a gas same as with LP gas or liquifiied petroleum gas . This year is starting off better than last but still a little strange to have field working conditions in January , thanks for the video !!
Surprised to see this work being done this far north already. great video. I get a kick out of how diplomatic you are shooting "Big Green" and being a Versatile tech. Your diplomacy is noted,. No farming experience here, just like to see the machines but I also watch a few farming channels just to see how farming is done and different ways to plant and how cattle are fed and such. I did like that explanation at the beginning.
Great video! Lots of farmers have been working ground in the area this January. It has been a mild winter so far. Not many people have heard of Quincy so It is cool to know a big youtuber films in my area. Keep up the good work.
Love your vids Mike. I'm a scientist by trade but help mom on her small 16 acres farm driving a venerable Massey 35X with a roll cage. Used for pasture topping, fertiliser spreading, silage bale lifting and rolling. 44 hp can do a lot :)
Wow. I would thg think most of nitrogen would leach and be lost by planting time, but I as no expert. To each his own. I know that is pretty good dirt there.
They really need to pick up those hoses that are dragging the ground between the tanks and the tool. I've seen that before and the hoses will get a hole rubbed through in no time.
Ha! Ha! We have 2 feet of snow on our fields in northwestern Minnesota. And about 2 feet of frost in the ground. Plus lots of unharvested corn, soybeans, and sugar beets.
Jason Cushman There is some corn on corn ground in this area, but most of the corn will go into soybeans. The soybean ground will be put into corn again.
A pump is used to fill the tanks putting the gas under pressure. The applicators shown then are fed by the pressure in the tank and the flow is regulated to get the application rate desired.
