@@disneyfan9099 Even with a good haggle this vehicle is still waaaaaay too expensive for what you get. Just buy a decent used Prius wagon for less than half the price of this and you're done. Waste of money to buy a new car like this one.
You can pick up cars or a truck barely used I'm talking maybe 5-15k miles for massive less than a new one, 10-20k less than new still has a lot of warranty. You might have to drive few hours or fly to get one but its still cheaper. I'll never buy new unless there is a massive rebates $6k+ or during a pandemic for steep discount.
Kia Telluride SX for $43,000? Not according to my local dealer!! $15,000 increase for “market adjustment” on top of other outrageous fees brings it to nearly $65,000. Unbelievable
I own a 2019 Acadia Denali, I love it! I rode in the third row while my hubby drove I was quite comfy! I love mine and the hidden compartment in the back that you lift up can be used as a cooler for soda or water on a road trip! I hide my mom snacks in it from my kids!! It also has teen driver package for kids learning how to drive! Another reason I bought this car! So after your kid drives it you can go back and get a report on their driving! I do wish they put running boards on it! Though you can buy them from GMC . I love the get up and go, and it’s funny because it doesn’t look like it’s heavy power car! I have the silver pepper dust color, and the WiFi is great though you pay monthly for it, same as my Chevy duramax. But also you can voice activate directions or get the nearest gas station with directions, I also love the voice texting option! The info entertainment has many features, if you take the time to get to know your Denali or you have a great dealership that goes through every possible option and how to use it! So this makes it great on road trips! I would never buy the Kia telluride over a GMC. I owned a Kia Optima back in the day, worst car ever after it hit 50,000 things started going down hill. Just because the Telluride looks good doesn’t mean it is in the long run. I think my Denali will win the longevity race over the Kia! I also got ten grand off sticker price when I got mine, it’s all about wheeling and dealing and making sure you get every buyer’s incentive! Do your homework! Also got my Chevy duramax for thirty grand below sticker! And no I don’t have relatives who work for GMC! Best car buying I ever did!
@Brian Waller Who wants to drive a car with over 300 thousand miles on its odometer? Toyotas are fine cars but you all act as though no Toyota has ever suffered a mechanical defect and their value never depreciates.
I just bought a GMC Acadia Dinali and got $7000 off the sticker. It’s 700 pounds lighter then the older Acadia and handles more like a car. Goes from 0 to 6.8 seconds and I love the heads up display with the navigation. I don’t use the third row but I need the room for golf clubs. I love all the safety features. I had fast cars with manual transmissions and this car you don’t need to shift.
The GMC Acadia Denali is pushing into Mercedes GLE price points and you get quite a bit more attention to details with the Mercedes as compared to the GMC just my thought on that one...Once again great family review !!!
OMG! Who buys these vehicles? Absurdly overpriced in the top trim Denali "costume". Numerous failures in terms of interior fit and finish. Nickel and dime option choices including a $500 upcharge for any color other than white. Arguably the 193.4" length is a tidier size for those looking for a 3 row crossover that fits slightly more easily into a parking space than most other competitors. But that advantage is tiny to begin with and comes with an especially cramped third row where its 29.7" 3rd row legroom is less than the back seat of a Mustang and 2" less than a KIA Sorento that's 4.5" shorter than the Acadia. The only 3 row crossover with less 3rd row legroom is the ridiculously space inefficient Highlander. Here's a suggestion to deal with GM's numerous rows. Fire the entire design, marketing, and management teams associated with every GM vehicle except the Corvette. Put the designers and engineers responsible for the Corvette in charge of the entire corporation. Not because every vehicle should be a 'vette clone but because that group apparently knows how to build an awesome vehicle at a competitive price.
not sure when you last got a new vehicle, but charging for METALLIC paint is commonplace unfortunately, especially on "luxury" vehicles. Check out some of the lux brands and see how many "free" colors exist. NOt only that they charge more than $495 for metallic paint
Absolutely awesome video Micah! I personally would take this over the Journey, Durango, Explorer, Traverse, Pathfinder, Outlander, and Pilot. However I’d personally prefer a Telluride, Pallisade, Highlander, Atlas, Ascent, or CX-9! Though I do love the gear controls!😸😸
Ryan Frisby Pretty spot on but the CX9 isn’t that great I much say. I would probably take the Pilot over the CX9. The Brand new CX9 I rented was pretty weak. The cooled seats didn’t work well, the A/C was horrible. Didn’t drive that nice as well. Still a great comment
Officer, I was just flying a tad low to the ground. Nice ride but your family is worth its weight in gold... looks like you married up for sure. If you ever tangle with a rice-rocket or any of those little imports, I'd want to be in your GMC. On the other hand, my car slid into a tree the other day and it caused about 3,000 dollars worth of improvements.
The Acadia is a good looking SUV but if I had to buy an American SUV is rather choose the Dodge Durango or Ford Explorer than the GM siblings. And my parents and grandparents have been buying FCA products since the 70's so I guess I'm used to it.
You didn't mention the Auto mode of AWD. It engages if vehicle censors detect slippage and turns off again when surface conditions become normal. This is a great feature because parking and tight turns is a lot harder to turn the steering wheel when in full time AWD. You also neglected that the Acadia is one of the few vehicles that allows you to turn off the STOP/START function of the engine which most people despise. And yes, the Denali trim is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced and all those safety features should be standard with all trim levels.
The special paints should be a no cost option for higher trim levels and charge on lower. Keep the white and charge for all colors for the base model only. It would at least make some sense.
I just leased a 2021 GMC Dinali Acadia didn’t know what I really wanted at the time so I just went ahead and got the Acadia because I have a friend that is a salesman at GMC and I was helping him out. I am so glad that I bought this vehicle it is fun to drive it’s not something I would have picked if I had to pick a car but it drives so well and the performance is great on it. At first I felt like crap buying it but now I’m glad that I did pick this vehicle. For the price it is a bit overpriced. But that’s why I went ahead and leased Instead of buying so I would not be buried. It drives like a vehicle from the 90s with speed and it has a good takeoff. Everyone that I’ve had borrow my vehicle loves it. Thanks for showing a video.
Those console panel gaps remind me of Rubbermaid storage boxes. This is bad even for GM. I don't see why you'd get this over a Highlander, or Palisade, or CX-9, or Pilot.
Vehicles are all about preference and who’s life they will fit. I personally bought the Acadia AT4, for me and my family it is well worth it. The added safety tech is not very helpful to me. But I am used to base model vehicles and don’t rely on the tech so much. Again, that’s all preference. For anybody that is interested in these cars, take these reviews and others as a piece of the whole pie and then go look/drive one for yourself.
How are you liking it now? I was thinking about the 2022 at4 and it is $45,735 fully equipped with the preferred and tech packages and towing package. Looked at the highlander and does not have as much tech, no heated steering wheel heads up display vented seats at the same price point. Also tow hitch is extra.
@@jimchauvin7958 it’s been a great vehicle for the past year. Currently have about 27k miles on it. Haven’t towed anything with it yet, but have moved to a different home and piled the interior up with anything and everything, suspension handled the extra load well and the engine/trans never felt like it struggled. My only real gripe is switching the start/stop button off every time I get in the car. I only use that feature on stop lights I know will take time. My 2020 doesn’t have the HUD, just red warning lights when it senses a collision is imminent. In a nutshell, during my ownership I’ve never felt I need something else. Its done everything I’ve needed it too and then some.
I would want the fanciest GMC Acadia Denali because I have own a few 3.6 liter engines powering GM vehicles in the past and I like the engines. They have been quite reliable getting over 150k out of each of them.
GMC knows they aren't the best option in this segment, which is why you can get an AWD Denali for nearly 10K off. That put it well less than a Telluride SX. Still can't get a 100K warranty with GMC, though.
I just got mine and I have emotion haha I love it Coming from and Audi A5 it’s definitely not as fancy but I love the third row seat very excited to drive it The drive so far has been really smooth! Can’t feel all the bumps in the road
I’ve never understood the reason the GMC existed. Their vehicles are basically Chevies with slightly different exterior and interior designs. Yes, they do offer some unique items, such as the tailgate option on the Sierra. I just feel they need to take things up a notch on the interior if they want to justify the price hike over a Chevy. The problem is they can’t get too close to Cadillac quality. They are the Buick of GM trucks.
$50K+ for that??? I understand it's the Denali trim but that's overpriced for a GMC product. Shoddy reliability, materials and poor fit-and-finish. I'd rather get a Lexus RX F-Sport for that kind of money. Far better reliability, much better fit-and-finish and higher quality.
@@disneyfan9099 i still wouldn't get it for that price. I'm not a big GMC fan (or anything domestic). They have shitty interiors and reliability isn't very good.
Another low quality/overpriced GM product! Sad....because it has potential to be a very decent vehicle. Just GM doesn’t care about quality, just charge a premium Price
Hi Micah very happy for you my friend such a beautiful family very happy for you and your GMC it's just Sharp you & yours take care your friend Ken and my sidekick tiger till next time buddy
Only thing good about this COVID BS is that the auto industry is in trouble and rightfully so. The prices of new vehicles are obscene and need to be corrected. Hopefully this will open their eyes. There is absolutely no reason this monstrosity should be over 28 grand.
Test drove one a year ago. Decent vehicle, but why is everything an option. I'm surprised they don't charge extra for power steering. Too many better choices out there.
Not worth it at that price if I’m being honest. The economy brands are offering better features and aren’t cutting on the quality of material in the vehicle. It’s better for someone to get a Kia Telluride or whatever else Honda and Toyota offer
no one is paying that. There is like 4k off the price right now in factory incentives. Its a joke to pretend anyone is paying close to sticker as this review does
But unfortunately that is the gm way cheap interiors and poor fit n finishes. Why after all these years they cannot bring up their quality? I mean come on Hyundai seems to have surpassed them in interior quality and fit n finish. Gm motors is one of the biggest car companies and it seems they just don’t care. Look at the new corvette a halo car for the brand and yet the stitching on the dash board has been ridiculed for the wobbly stitching.
these car manufacturers are getting ridiculous with the price of these cars, but we as consumers keep buying them that’s why they sell them for so much money, to me bottom line not worth the price for what you’re getting
$52,000.00!? In classic General Motors style that thing is falling apart and not fitted properly right off the factory line. I hope that if there was someone foolish enough to buy this thing, they realize that it will be worth $15,000.00 by the time time the ink dries and about $10,000.00 once they leave the lot.
such as? HIghlander and Pilot both top out around 50 large. The atlas nor explorer interiors are better. Only the Korean SUvs are really measurably better. The explorer was all new last year and has been widely critiqued for interior quality and it can cost 60 large
id take the toyota highlander or even honda pilot over this purely over the fact they will hold ther resale value a tad more but mainly cause there reliable and more so over the acadia
$53K? I'd be sad to pay that for this and not shop a Telluride. No brainer. Also resale value will be in the toilet quickly comparatively to the Kia/Hyundai counterparts. Great review!
Joel Bolton their tester was $53K but a top end Acadia Denali can actually top $60K for one with AWD, ultimate package, fancier 20 in wheels, dvd entertainment, white exterior paint etc.
Those flick button gear shift things... Whoever designed them needs to... Ahem... Anyways, Wait 6 months and you'll get one of these things at 35k. Auto market is crashing. Do not buy anything!
how can people who are so tech savvy and modern be THIS scared of a push button shifter? Lincoln, Acura, Honda and others are using variations of this theme, they arent going anywhere. Its funny how reviewers complain about ANY shifter that isnt a lever- unless its a Tesla or something
GM- 29 models 11 USA 🇺🇸 ASSEMBLY PLANTS FORD-16 models 8 USA 🇺🇸 ASSEMBLY PLANTS FCA-12 models 6 USA 🇺🇸 ASSEMBLY PLANTS Great to see foreign owned companies build here! Show me 3 foreign vehicle manufacturers that, in total, make more then 🇺🇸 USA ASSEMBLY PLANTS. Does 🇺🇸 USA need the equivalent of 🇮🇳 India who says, if you sell in India , you build it in India?
Professional Grade? ? ? Nah. Telluride with Blind Spot Camera and Free COLOR. I am a fan of GM’s 4G WIFI built into the car with a Strong Signal built in the Car. I agree the Market Place app on the info screen is absolute Rubbish! Slow loading nothing of Value and way to distracting trying to figure it out. I like the Weather Chanel App, and Audio Books. And Spotify can be useful but most people like me have it on Car PLay or Android Auto. Your Daughter has grown leaps and bounds lately and Still Sweet as ever. While the Acadia is “fine”, cross-shop it against the Cadillac XT6. Nearly identical equipment, engine, transmission, interior, and infotainment. Aside from a minor interior detail, it’s hard to justify the $8000 price increase for “cache”. Yes, there are roomier options in this class. Yet, older drivers like me don’t need to haul people or stuff as much as families do. I like the “Cicadia” and it’s on my short list when I get rid of a less than satisfying Lexus NX.
I have the 2017 Acadia Denali and when I first got it I loved it. Looks really good and it’s pretty fancy. Then a few months later the 2018 traverse came out and it looked literally the same and it was slightly bigger. In general, GMC is more “luxurious” than Chevy. But I would of chosen the traverse over the Acadia had it been on the market. But today I wouldn’t get either. The telluride and palisade are light years ahead of both of these vehicles. To think that the 2023 Acadia looks the same as mine inside and out minus a couple small changes (the grill and headlights being the only thing I can actually think of) is crazy. As soon as the price of cars drop back down to a reasonable price or at least the finance rates, we will be getting a palisade. Night and day difference between gm SUV’s and hyuandis and kias. Really regret not getting a 2020 palisade when we had the chance but we just wasn’t sure and that front grill is painfully ugly. But now I kinda like that old grill and absolutely love the new redesign. My mom just bought the new palisade SEL and it’s super nice. We test drove a limited (didn’t care for the color) and it was the only one they had. Rest were sel and xrt. Have yet to see a calligraphy on any lots. Or in person on the road roads yet honestly. Can’t wait to find one the wife likes.
In the year 2024 I'm currently shopping for the next family box and these are priced around 20-25k with less than 50,000 miles on the clock. Definitely a consideration. The fact that it's a bit smaller is a plus in my book because I hate big lumbering vehicles, but family needs dictate I own something bigger than what I have now. We have to take 2 cars often at the moment
Superb! Sometimes, caring is better than loving. Sometimes, tea is better than coffee. Sometimes, smile is better than laughter, but nobody is better than you, finding time to text me.
There are better choices for the money. Agreed that if I'm to spend $50k, I would hope not to see poor workmanship. But-- I wouldn't know that if not for this review. 👍 PS- That blue truck totally dwarfed you. Lol
I am not a big fan of the Acadia, Do feel it is over priced. My Aunt has one (top of the line) And it doesn't do anything for me. Can I suggest you do the Buick Enclave? Yes same family of vehicles but I would take that over this. Great video as always. High 5 to you both.
Is it just me or does his wife look different than what I thought she might look like? No offense to her I just don't get the vibe they're married to each other 😂
I absolutely love the Acadia denali that is what I would love either that or the Yukon Denali next we have an 19 terrain denali and absolutely love it I really love the Acadia more then the pilot
When I was growing up every car came with the BEST standard safety feature and I fear this dependency on technology is undermining it. Ready for it? DEFENSIVE DRIVING! LOL
