my next vehicle. perfect for my needs. not looking for a race car but rather something with great fuel economy, small footprint, updated technology, and good cargo options at a great price. not surprised at all that this bombed in the US. this car isn't a status symbol vehicle, it's a tool that gets the job done. that's what honda was aiming for with this.
Honda decided to discontinue it because people are not buying small cars or manuals. If you saw the sales figures people actually do not like the fit...or manuals despite people on youtube going on about it.
@@greggc.touftree5936 Well manuals are horrible, so that's true, but the 2020 Honda Fit that I bought was not a manual. People actually like to buy vehicles that are affordable, and designed with function in mind.
I have driven a few rentals on road trips to determine my next car. One aspect is the drivers seat. It must be comfortable to sit in while on long road trips. The Honda drivers seats are the most comfortable for me. I still have my 2010 Honda Fit Sport. It is already paid off. I use it as a commuter/road trip car. I thought about trading it in for a newer car. But heard they have discontinued the Fits. And with gas prices rising, I’d better stick with my Fit Sport for now.
Bought a honda fit sport model in 2008. Manual transmission. Great car! Hated to part with her! No problems. She was so reliable. Was looking for a SUV. But the honda fit is so comfortable I bought another one! . great car!
I have a 2010 Honda fit sport and I have 510k miles I never have a problem but if it brake down I'll definitely buy another one I'm so happy with this car
Got the 2020 version and man it was like a warzone at our local dealer since it was alot of people throwing a fit over the Honda Fits left in the dealer. 4 people wanted the last EX model and I was lucky that I snatched the last grey model over someone with a bad credit score. An incredible upgrade from my old car. I can hardly wait to drive it again. Edit: I didnt get the EX since the LX gets better mpg which was my main concern from my last vehicle.
DUDE..EXCELLENT REVIEW!!! I just watch some dude ratees rattie I don't know.. He did not touch on Half The Items this car comes with like you did.. THANK GOD I watched your Review.. I going to trade my poorly built 2019 Camry for one of these and a 2020 Goldwing Tour.. The Bike will be bigger than the car! but I don't drive much in this Covid World we now live in.. This is perfect for those Walmart runs.. Thanks Man.
Its sad to see another competitor to the subcompact market disappear, but the new Rio/ Accent and Yaris are a super great buy as an alternative. My 2020 rio is getting on avg 43mpg and they're cheaper than the Fit. If the Fit wasn't being discontinued, I would have bought these as my first option.
Long live the Fit! Lol. I have a 2020 EX model and absolutely love it! It “fits” everything I currently need a car to be. Thanks for the in-depth review. 🙂👍🏽#Fitastic❤️
@@bigboykrish6457 The Fit is no longer available to purchase new in the USA (as of the end of 2020), but you may be able to buy a used one from a dealership or other car sales source.
I love my 2019 Fit Sport. It delivers everything I’ve expected and more. May be I should keep it when the lease ends if Honda eliminates the Fit from the line up:)
I've seen the new Fit revealed overseas, and man do I wish it arrived here. It has a lot of potential. Then again, it's what I thought of the new Yaris also revealed overseas as well. The fact that the new Yaris and Fit won't arrive here is a bummer for a big matter of fact.
So,...my sister got a 2021 Fit, and I was very surprised to ride in it AND realize that it appears to ride better than my current car [2014 Civic EX-L] and is quieter. Sure, her car isn't blessed with power, but appears to get up to speed good enough. But yeah,.....rides better and is more quite than my 2014 Civic EX-L. Nice little car!
The econ button prevents you from doing fast acceleration. You can get the same fuel economy without pressing the econ button, if you limit your tendency to want to accelerate. When the traffic light turns green, don't hop away as quickly as possible. The econ button is great in stop and go traffic. If the car is stopped, and then the car ahead of you moves ahead 10 feet, the Fit won't "lurch" ahead and smack the car ahead of you, when you step on the accelerator. Otherwise it doesn't seem very helpful. When stopped at a traffic light, it reduces the amount of cool air coming from the air conditioner. This is awful, because the AC is underpowered to begin with. The care will immediately start to feel warmer!
Unfortunately not. Everyone want a fucking SUV cause it's "Safe" and "have lot's of space" in them! Well, uh... Higher center of gravity meaning it can roll over easier than a mid-size/Full-size sedan and the space most of the time is clutter with bulk. Also those thing are fucking huge and takes up LOTS of space. Worse of all, one of the modern SUV's is FWD, have a CVT, and paired up with an I3 engine. Whoever though of that needs to be instantly terminated from their position. NOW.
Best car I've ever owned and sad to hear they have decided $$$$ is more important than the safety record and efficiency of this vehicle. Maybe if more Americans were actually fit they'd fit in a fit. Guess the USA needs big a$$ cars for all the fatties in the family. Shame. I still have mine and won't be forced into their lame hrv.
Solid thumbs up. Much more info and better presentation than most. One niggles. Engine breaking only prevents skids w rear wheel drive! If fronts are breaking they are not freely turning to steer when slippery.
I love my 2012 Fit. My plan was to replace it in 2022 but now I have to decide instead if I should get a new one by the end of this year. Darn. My only complaint about my Fit is that the hatchback door is now constantly getting stuck, so I have to crawl into the back and manually unstuck it every time I need to open the hatch door.
Great job including specs on the sport model. The radio bits were great, and the floormats info. Now I know dealers weren't lying about floormats in the base/sport model but best believe I'll be asking them to throw in a set lol
Hey you have an apple dealer logo on yours? You must live near me! You buy it in Dillsburg? I'll swing by with my '19 Accord 2.0T Touring and we can tear it up and pick up some babes~!
The fact that Honda never gave us a hybrid drive train on this model is a crime against humanity. Sure SUV drivers would never go for a Fit but hypermilers would have been all over it. Another lost opportunity by brain-dead auto manufacturers.
I have the 2019 LX CVT. Averaging about 41 mpg. Going 75 on the freeway and up hills at higher elevation. This little thing barely sips fuel if you drive it right. Very proud
Which Chevy is more so same class? Spark or Sonic? Been looking into maybe a Sonic RS 6spd or a Fit Sport 6spd (w/ HFP package). Also, a friend of mine had a Fit 7-8 years ago that he stuffed 4x 37" tires in the back.
I would add 2 things. The load height for the rear hatch is lower than most cars. Makes things easier for those of us who don't have lots of muscles. The other thing is that despite the apparent large size of the hatch area, with the rear seats folded down, it doesn't have a large foot print for large objects. Much of the cubic foot spec is due to the HEIGHT of the hatch area. For example I can't fit in a standard size folding table, 60 inches by 30 inches, even if the front seats are pushed fairly far forward. It is just about 2 or 3 inches too short. This is annoying because 60 x 30 seems to be a standard size, in the US, for lots of furniture.
@@horseswind6922 Nope. Still won't fit. The driver's seat will prevent the table from going all the way in, even if it is moved all the way forward. Because it is 30 inches wide, the left side (in a Fit with drivers seat on the left side) of the table will hit the back of the driver's seat. Something that is about 60 inches long and 20 inches wide will fit, but something 30 inches wide.
Still drivin' my Fit Sport from 2006. Really is a special little car. Biggest issue I have with it is the ride /suspension is not the smoothest at times, but love everything else about it even today.
I bought a 2015 MT then came across a ridiculously cheap 2017 MT, in 2019, and now there's a ton of content on these cars when there wasn't before. I guess with nothing else to review, people finally gave attention to this hatchback.
I got a brand new blue LX 2020 Fit. I don’t know how many people were at the dealer. My husband called and told them to drive it over with the paperwork and he would pay in full via a check. Love my car. Super simple and easy to drive.
The 2020 Honda jazz available in Japan, asia, and elsewhere, and that is not going to come to the US in 2021, is a _hybrid_ and a hybrid only. That means after about 10 or 15 years the car needs a new battery, if you want it to remain fun, and practical. And no, a refurbished battery is not a good deal
I love my Honda Fit. I have the leather seats, heated, the sun roof , and the cool wheels. All for 21 thousand. Best small car , and l love the way she looks.
Don’t feel bad as I got an ex last year that was priced at $24.5k but my trade in did balanced out everything with inflated prices so I ended up paying k21.5 after taxes and fees.
I'm a retired vet from the auto industry for over 4 decades I can say that my 13 fit was the best care I've ever owned. I've had dozens of vehicles over that time. Not the most expensive, just the best. Then came the 15 model year and I was not impressed with Mexico's assembly. Then a miracle, cuz as demand rose significantly in 2016 I was able to buy one (Milano Red) that was assembled in Japan. BIG diff in the build quality, fit and finish etc. Like a whole different car. V.I.N. matters....
Thinking of getting a used 3rd gen over the 2nd gen due to increased torque, horsepower, better looks (IMO), better safety rating. Any cons to getting a 3rd gen other than it will be more expensive?
The 3rd gen has a little more leg room but less trunk space. Not a big difference but a couple inches. I have a 2nd gen 2013 that I drive rideshare with so I know how valuable cargo room is when carrying passengers.
@@doug_velasquez007 I got a 2nd gen 2013 Honda Fit Sport back in late January and love it, but did wish the front leg room was just a tad longer as I have long legs.
Thats what people said about this version of Honda jazz last year, and the last year, and the last year.. and people like you will said similar things EVERY new generation
It's enough to merge onto a limited access highway without forcing too many cars that are already on the highway, to move left, or slow down to let you in. More than adequate to go from 60 mp to 90 mph, in 3 or 4 seconds, in order to pass slow-moving vehicles on the highway.
