@Peter Rahill Def. you can usually never go wrong with a honda. I've been riding my naked 500 for 3 years now and have never had an issue, and its a whole load of fun. I might recommend a different muffler, the standard ones are usually a bit tinny, don't get anything obnoxiously loud tho

Honestly when I was looking for starter Bikes, I was hoping I could do one of those Harley Street 500s or 750s. But sadly they stopped making those. I’m still looking for a starter bike. So far this one looks like my best choice. Now it’s just a matter of money, getting a license, and seeing wether or not my mom will have a coronary over my sudden interest in driving a motorcycle.

@@homiesenatep haha I've heard of several issues on Harleys like oil leaks and what not. I ride a DRZ400S on daily basis, my buddy owns a 2021 Rebel. This bike is so smooth and balanced and super fun to ride. I can’t get over how much I enjoy riding this Honda Rebel. It think what makes it so addicting to ride is it’s light and maybe the smoothest bike I have ridden to this day. And he says it perfectly in his review, it’s way more fun than you would think it would be.

I have owned my 2017 model since new, and bought it with the notion of riding it purely just for country side riding, and I will say I have enjoyed it very much so that I ended up selling my CB600f. My only gripe was the seat comfort, which I solved by procuring the Mustang Solo seat, and I will say that it's a real improvement over the stock seat.
@max_rove

I heard they improved both the comfort of the seat and the suspension for the models after 2020
@rjlacaillade2519
@rjlacaillade2519 2 года назад
@@max_rove The new models are definitely an improvement;however, it’s marginal to be honest. I traded my rebel for a Softail Slim, but of course after trading in my Honda my wife wants a Rebel. So we tried out a 2021 left over and to be honest it wasn’t much different in the seating department. The suspension however is definitely an improvement over the 2017.

Great honest review! I did a test ride in the same bike model two days ago and completely agree with you. Under 60m/100kms /h is quite smooth and enjoyable, steers very easily and brakes in a dim. Over 60... well not so much. Rear suspension is non existent in bumps (I got a funny seat jump in my first bump at 40m/h) and left foot engine cover is a little to much intrusive. Perfect bike if you want to start riding in a cruiser.

@Wagner PD Great for your 250cc bike. What I mean with my comment is that this bike is great for cruising around 60mph but over 70mph (and The Rebel can easily reach 90mph) ergonomics are not so friendly.

Just brought the exact model, dropped from an NC 750 to this CMX 500 s. I agree with everything this guy says. Reason for the change, at 5"4 and short legged, i struggled with the 750, almost scared on a slippery road. This Bike solves the issue. Only downfall is a small pillion seat with pegs that bring your knees up high.

I own a 8 years old CB 500X and reliable can't eben start to describe it. Its simple, I mver had a single engine problem and while it is well maintained I am not the most meticulous rider of the bunch. It went touring for several hours at 150kph several times, I do push it on the mountains weekly and it never let me down. So yep, these 500cc engines from Honda are great indeed and plenty enough for light touring and weekend trips but also very comfortable in the city or as an everyday bike. As a side note I do live in SEA and even in the stupidly hot summer the engine stays pretty cool not burning your legs while riding which is a big issue for many bigger bikes I tried here over the years.

hello there, my personal opinion about honda rebel 500 2020 after 3 months with it: -is very responsive, very smooth and feels like it will last forever. -the stock seats(both of them) are very very useless. honestly after 40 minutes on it, every single time my butt hurts.my girlfriend same story on the rear seat. i ordered a Mustang seat from USA and cant wait to recieve it . -very easy to drive, -has a lot of power, dont get confused , is not a 125cc, not a 1200cc either , but has a lot of power to make you get out of any situations of the highway. -is a lifetime motorcycle if you want it. is not so heavy , and if you are like me 1.70 cm tall, is a perfect bike. -in my opinion is the best option on market to have fun, look incredible, feel confident, and to learn how to not die on motorcycle . this bike invites me every day to go out and explore the world . and if you customize it in an unique mode, you will love it.take care

I've had a fondness for the ol' honda rebel since my very first street bike was an '84 rebel 250. I rode it for several hours with it only firing on one of its cylinders (a spark plug wire wasn't fully seated). I expected it to be pretty slow, and it was while it was only performing as a one cylinder, lol. Once I seated that spark plug wire, wow what a difference. It was still no speed demon by any means, but it was a great beginner bike. I absolutely love the way this generation of rebels look. If mine looked like this, and was a 500, I might have kept it for a second bike.

I am sold. I’m going to get one of these next summer. I’d do it now except It would just sit all winter. May as well wait at this point. Moving from a 250 rebel, but this seems perfect as an upgrade. Thanks for the video man. All black looks awesome too. Be safe out there.

from owning the 250 you think this 500 would be a good beginner bike?
@johnvega2974
@johnvega2974 3 года назад
@@igotauzi 500 is even manageable as a beginner bike depending on the person. i myself weigh 170 and am 5’11 and i went straight for a used 2018 rebel 500. it’s not necessarily hard to learn how to handle the bike as long as you have an understanding of throttle control. if you drive reckless and chase speed, don’t jump up because you’ll just put yourself in a bad situation. take your time, understand throttle, and don’t get gear happy is my best advice to anyone not able to or willing to start at low cc

I wonder why Honda has this obsession with reverse LCD? Maybe it's just on camera but can you tell me if in the sunlight while you are wearing sunglasses you can even see the screen? Another great video and I am very much attracted to this bike thanking you in advance for your answer thanks for everything

Loved the idea of the rebel, waited for the 2020 model with the upgrades. Buddy has the 2019 model. He has issues with the twisties as the bike has trouble leaning without scraping. To be expected with this style of of bike. Killed my enthusiasm for it. Cb500x is fantastic though

Have to admit that was something I felt when riding. I didn't scrape but I didn't lean as much due to that concern. Same with all cruisers though.

Important note - The spongyness you experienced in the front brake lever is caused due to a pocket of air in the brake system. Bleed your breaks and that lever should firm right up (this applies for any motorcycle, and car - spongy breaks = trapped pocket of air)

Lol, no it's a brand new press bike. Just needed bedding in.

@@Englishbikerdan It's a common error that's been reported on many rebel 500's where there's air in the brake system, so don't ''lol no'' me. Also, i've been a mechanic for around 15 years now, If your breaks feel spongey - There's something wrong with em. And that is most likely an airpocket since the spongey feel comes from the airbubble being compressed, And liquids doesn't compress :)

@@magmafist thank you, I only wonder if suspension and transmission is good enough on sv650
@Englishbikerdan
@Englishbikerdan 4 года назад
The CB650R has a more premium look and feel over the others, for what we pay in the UK it's a bargain. In other coutries, not so much. All the 650cc class are pretty good, pros and cons to each. My favourite that isn't the CB would be the Z650 just because it surprised me at how good it is on the road. I'd have to ride the SV650 again to really remember what it's like.
@magmafist
@magmafist 4 года назад
@@davidk2967 stock suspension? CB 650 R is the best (but not enough for pure track day) I tested on both track and road, still a little bouncy on track, but stiff on road any other 650 (MT 07, Z 650, SV 650) are OK for road, but quite bouncy in track (even on stiffest preload setting) I actually wanted MT 07, but considering more $ on OHLIN front fork spring + suspension upgrades ... that's another like US $ 9xx MT 07's CP 2 engine is the MOST fun
