Been going to road america for 44 years, never been so soaking wet in my life. Covid-19 dampened the fan experience with the closed pits but the crowd was great and racing awesome as always at our national park of speed.
@@rustnvrsleeps That's where I was too. Literally just started eating when it started pouring. Soggiest sandwich I've ever had. Still had a great time though.
@@novuscomputers I also was just taking my first bite of my burger when the rain started. Thankfully my camping neighbors still had their canopy up to provide a little shelter.
How this is so much more exciting than F1. Fantastic commentators, fantastic circuit, fantastic cars, fantastic fans. Well done Corvette let's hope the trend continues and the beautiful C8 Corvette gets its first Championship. Regards from England.
because the cars can run nose to tail and actually race... here’s hoping the 2021 rules actually fix that, cause it’s sad when all the feeder series (gp2/3 etc) can do that and consistently produce better racing.
I love IMSA. Seriously you guys run one hell of an engaging racing series. I absolutely love that you make the entire races available for us so easily, for someone who comes from the UK it's an absolute god-send. Thanks guys.
Pardon me New Drifter, but just a lil advice for ya man. You wanna stay in tune to these broadcasts for sure just make sure you hit the subscribe button to the right of screen just underneath title of broadcast. Not assuming you’re unknowing of anything or callin you any names or nuthin like. Just remember that I don’t know what you might or might not know man. Hope I helped you out.
Probably my favourite American circuit. Long straights, fast corners, great loop to race at. And the rain was such a nice addition. As an European, I don't watch all races of IMSA SportsCar, but I always try to remember the Road America weekend.
From one of your Aussie fans, thanks once again for a timely upload of the last race IMSA Official. Very much appreciated. I've said it before and will again. There are some Aussie racing series sites that could learn a lot from you guys about how to treat your fans.
Wow what a Birthday present, congratulations. Here in England I can only dream of that sort of Birthday present...but who knows one day I can see my beloved Corvette racing. Cheers.
Duuude, this race was the shit!!! One of the best races I've ever seen, exciting battles from the beggining to the end. The battle between P1s was insane, Castroneves battlong both Mazdas was so intense. Dry and wet. Glad they didn't interrupt the race and let them race those last laps in soaking wet weather. Me and my dad have gone crazy watching it here in Brazil. No F1 race has gone any close to this
Thanks so much IMSA! Great racing and great coverage as always! Here hoping the GTLM class gets more entries each year, with only 6 cars it's already awesome to watch, but imagine 12 or more on the field! Ford, Ferrari, Lambo, Mercedez, Toyota, Nissan, bring it on!
I have been going to Road America since the early 1970s and your broadcasts allow me to see more of the experience than being at the track. Thank you for allowing us to see this. I have always been a Corvette fan since John Greenwood drove his Batmobile Corvette there in the seventies. Thanks again for allowing people like me to see this racing without putting my life at risk due to the Covid Pandemic. I work in healthcare with direct patient contact and have been living the life of a hermit so I do not put my patients at risk and this has been a breathe of fresh air to watch such an exciting race with such enthusiastic and knowledgeable announcers. The best thing is Corvette took first and second place. Wow. To me it was awesome to see the drivers and people at the track wearing masks and I thank them for doing this not just for themselves but for all of the people that are at risk from the Covid-19 virus. Thank you all so very much for caring about others, it means so very much to me and the healthcare providers I work with. Real men and women wear masks. Thanks again. Duane Darling, PT
John, Jeremy, & Shay do about the best goddamn job any human being could ask for. Absolutely friendly, lively, informed, and compelling. If you can run a country, here in the U.S. we are currently hiring.
Thank you, IMSA, for uploading the full race for free, particularly with the best commentators in the business. I do have one nitpick, though. Please go back to showing the manufacturers on the scrolling train at the bottom of the screen. It's not a big deal, but I'd still like to see this change. I was super pumped when the Sebring race went back to showing the manufacturers, and I'm a little disappointed that it's reverted to showing the classes. I can already tell what class each car is in by the color of its number background, but I often forget which manufacturer each team is using, particularly for partial-season entries like Compass Racing, Gradient Racing, and Team Hardpoint. This problem only gets worse for endurance races, when there are more one-off entries. Again, not a huge issue, and thanks for the upload.
No way! Last couple of races were mixed way better. Turn up the engine volume like it was at Sebring. You wanna listen to commentators; go watch Formula E. Soon everything will be boring, noiseless electric powered cars. Let’s hear and enjoy petrol powered engines burning up dinosaurs while they’re still around.
I just woke my dogs up yelling from excitement on that Mazda overtake on the Acura. Great racing!! I normally watch F1 but I might have to make the switch to imsa.
To be fair to the Porsche team and BMW team the rain helped the c8 team quiet a bit. But yeah, even without rain the qualifying laps show how promising the C8Rs are
Fambacher is the one who drove so miraculously at the end of Virginia International in the Acura NSR. Boy what a driver! Also Shea Adams in the Pits good work. Corvette a dynasty soon.
I have been going to RA since 1958. The facilities there now are wonderful. In the day every shed or garage in Elkhart is where cars were worked on. You could hear cars in the middle of the night testing on the back roads.
The broadcast aired LIVE on NBC August 2 at Noon ET. International audience (excluding Canada/Latin America) can live stream WeatherTech Championship race events on IMSA.com/tvlive.
Shea Adam Is Awesome. Shea Is Always So Well Informed, So Personable & Articulate. I Just Love Her Light & Smiling Voice, It's Always Such A Pleasure To Listen To Shea. She Simply Sounds Lovely.
Weathertech Clock glitch 1:44:58 .....it goes from 1:00:47 straight to 1:00:45. I wonder how much times that happens during a race 😂 nice way to make sure some teams make it on fuel.
Well they still race the same amount of time, the timer doesn't update every second though. I suppose there was low 1:00:47 time and when the timer updated it was a high 1:00:45 so 1:00:46 was skipped.
van der sande is RIDICULOUSLY lucky. In a previous race this year, penalties got him a lap behind, but almost immediately 2 yellow saw him get caught up and with plenty of time to spare win the race. This race, the cadillacs sucks, but a SUPER lucky pit stop tire change allowed him to be brought up to the win. The Mazdas deserved to win this race. Stupid rain.
I was at the race, and went it started to rain at turn 1, I yelled to my dad "there're gonna be some crashes here! Hurry up to the grandstands!" Sure enough, there were. We were the last people on the grandstands as we just wanted to get soaked and enjoy everyone struggling out there on slicks in the wet weather.
@@battleofwills7189 Well the LMP2s will stay in WEC and are one of the most popular classes, it doesn't make much sense to race them in IMSA though since DPIs are slightly faster but similar in price.
Curious to know how competitive the Acura lmp Daytona would be against its WEC counterpart? Would it be able to beat the rebellion racing and Bruno senna? I'm guessing it would be similar to lmp1? Would be nice to see Acura make a lmp1 hybrid.
I still dearly miss Mazda (and the RT24-P specifically) from top flight IMSA. Would love to see what they could do in this new RWYB + hybrid age. I'm sure they'd be unstoppable
Great race but that pit lane closed rule needs some tweaking. Teams with damage also getting penalized on a race that's clearly going to be red flag is pretty rough.
IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Prototype Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup USA races are posted to RU-vid the day after their airing on TV (NBCSN). The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race is scheduled to air Aug. 15. Thank you.
I MUCH prefer IMSA Official coverage of these races over NBCSN (they're boring). Thanks for the great coverage! That being said, I'm really surprised at the sloppy (and sometimes irresponsible) racing by some of the drivers. Yeesh. But, it is kinda fun to watch 'em crash into each other. :)
*Where is the coverage for the other Classes!!!??? I do not like just watching the Prototypes.... I am Fan a of GTLM! GTLM and GTD is Real World cars that Customers can Buy.....!!! That's the only reason why my Son and I watch... Bring Back Full coverage of All Classes! Fix This IMSA!!!*
@@imsaofficial *Thank You, that would be Great!!! Hope to notice a change moving forward. We like the Prototypes; But, the rest of the Class are the cars we Really Love, Own, and can Buy as Customers; And also Buy WeatherTech to put into them. Thanks for the Reply. Let's keep our Beautiful American SportCar Series growing strong!*
