Thanks to Doug, since nobody has ever seen the backseat of one of these before. I assumed they would be huge since the car is so long. But the rear seats are pushed forward so much to make room for battery I guess
@@DocWolph If you did that then you would promptly become one of the thousands whom have won the lottery and went bankrupt. You will likely be able to pick one of these up in a few years at 40k. New Reveros are being marked down to 75k from MSRP of 138k
@@abdoyasine2275 yeah they made the car less elegant. The Fisker had that unique look that a Californian designer or an edgy designer would make. With the glass bits and the open pore wood. The wood now looks very tachy and early 2000's. They removed the rear chrome speakers that made the noise while driving on electric and that cool stache, they just made a more mainstream luxury car. Cool that they kept the overall design but I miss the little quirks that were unique to the car and made me like Fisker
1. it's a hybrid, Taycan is full electric 2. it's 20 grand cheaper though... 3. point still stands, at 130 grand it has laughable horsepower, cramped rear seats and terrible trunk capacity, Taycan is a much better value at 150k
@@neoqueto the Taycan people are actually buying is 180-200k, not the base model. This doesn't have many options, good and bad. I'm just glad they got rid of a buncha nonsense from the Fisker days. Let's see if it catches on!
nothing to do with supercharger network as DC fast charging for non teslas is plentyful nowadays. the issue is that the car is INCREDIBLY ineffcient. It gets around half of the kms a Tesla does, so it is completely useless.
@@elliottvader2377 outside america theres css chargers everywhere. in fact, the nearest supercharger is 1400km away from me, but i got a css every 200km until the next supercharger.
because global warming & being green is total b/s,,we have oil for the next 1000 yrs,at least,,plus, the guy that owns all the oil,,will stop you..so long as theres oil & money, your fkt..its all a big scam..
Looks great, they'll sell one. There's a brand new baby blue one (2018) sitting in Fort Myers FL airport (RSW) and they can't even get $99 K for it and its loaded.
Wow that wood looks tacky and very early 2000's, the Fisker open pore wood looked much better and it would've been cool if they had kept the glass bits that were very cool and unique. But the rest of the interior is beautiful
@@lifeinrussia1991 whatever suits you. I like glass bits. This is just boring and more tachy. The wood is horrible, but you probably can get different wood
Turbocharged Dude they are not focused on performance, they are more focused on luxury and efficiency, and I think this thing is way more luxurious than the model s and probably just as efficient
Kristian Raices 5:43 clearly shows how efficient that is @ 492 wh/mi Model s is around 300wh/mi ( my model 3 is around 220 wh/mi) More luxurious? Could be But it has a very poor use of space, it’s longer than a model s yet it’s a barely 4 seater ( try to sit an average size adult in back seat) it has no frunk and the trunk barely has any space I’m sure it has its fans but there is a reason why you see so many Karmas on the street vs teslas
This car is gorgeous I really wanted a fisker when they first came out but there was a lot going on with them. The original design looked a lot better. I’m a bit disappointed they removed the speakers in the rear bumper of the car, 1. Because they where sexy 2. It was very well thought out and clever. I feel like there is a lot going on with the infotainment system and I think it’s a little to excessive. I also miss the different color on the roof of the fisker that nobody really knew what they where. But they looked like solar panels and that was pretty bad a**. This car is gorgeous, after all when fisker started Tesla sued them for stealing their design, it was probably because Tesla was intimidated.
They didn’t buy Fisker. They bought the design and the company ASSETS. There is a difference there. The company making this new version of the Karma is not Fisker. Fisker started a new company in 2016 in the US. That is why you still see new concepts from Fisker
when John reviewed the Tesla's (new company, few panel gaps issues, few service center): john wasn't impressed and critical. Karma Revero (panel gaps, less impressive perf, inside, no reliabilty..): he's very impressed and only good word about it. I just don't get it.
I would look at it like this: nothing Tesla does is really that surprising anymore. When you are considered "No.1" or the first to do something (whether it was done well or not), you end up having to earn adulation, cheers and kudos, rather than being showered in it. Besides Tesla has not released anything utterly revolutionary since the Model S. Even the X, 3, and Y are just "more of the same but different". Maybe when the Tesla truck rolls out and it is not "the F-650 competitor trying to aim for F-150 buyers" monstrosity being claimed we might get some real news out of Tesla. Yeah, I'm sure the Roadster 2.0 will be awesome, until you hit a curve. assuming that can foot the bill for a sports car right now. So now you have a car, that was DEAD in the market. The company died. We had word of new investors. But we expected nothing. Much like we are STILL waiting for TVR to make its comeback. But Karma (the Karma?) is back, straightened up, refreshed, and radically better than the car it replaces. THAT is exciting. It is almost a surprise. What is surprising though is that it seems to be really that good. Oh, you really have not been watching Autoline much. John and Autoline in general have had many good words about Tesla. They just parse that with a dose of fair and balanced (Not Faux news style but the real stuff) and not the "100% good news all the time everything" noise you seem to want.
Narek which makes it even worse, doesn’t it? How can a electric/ conventional combination have less range than a fully electric Tesla? Sure, you can hit the gas station and be on your merry way in minutes, but still.
On important change, they routed the exhaust to the rear instead of where it was by the driver door. Whoever originally thought having it there didn't think it through!
Nice video John but I felt like it was kind of an infomercial more than a "review" there has to be faults with the car as well, it's almost a 10 year platform. Idk just felt a little bias
@@vduval22 do you mean this staggering sound? I believe that's just because of the grip control. That has nothing to do with the number of cylinders (which would have an effect on the sound of the engine).
@@vduval22 yeah, that is just the tires struggling for traction since the tarmac is wet, the sound repeats, because the traction control keeps enabling and disabling whenever the tires lose traction
Your getting better quality. Instead of tesla's having problems, never will you really run into a problem like the tesla's. And it's also interior quality too.
@@dant-rex1727 0-60 speed in a Model S is twice what this Revero manages to put out. Sorry, Tesla interior could use an update but for $150k people demand performance (0-60 in 3 seconds or less, these days).
@@dant-rex1727 You are talking about Tesla having problems? As far as I'm concerned, Tesla has an amazing market share and is selling cars like hot cakes while this car was sold unsuccessfully for one model year and it doesn't look that great for it's second time around.
@@dant-rex1727 I disagree. Almost all high end luxury vehicles pack major power, but they just dont make it obvious to the drivers or passengers. The problem with the Karama is there is something called the porsche taycan. There is no way the karma can compete with the service centers of tesla or porsche but it cant beat their power figures either. And on luxury the porsche will smash this into the ground. The karma has put itself in a inbetweeny weenie land where it loses at category.
I saw a Fisher Karmer on the road once in my life....also remember that MacMiller episode when he bought one and it died on the drive home from the showroom
Smart, getting an older gentleman to review a tech car. Talks about a fancy screen that's so slow that watching him look through it on my phone pisses me off with the amount of lag. What is that, like 15fps?
You'd think that with all the changes they made, one of them would be that silly blue dot logo. That's one of the least distinctive logos ever invented. Even Target's logo is more distinctive. I'm not sure I like the new grille any better than the old one. The old one reminded me of an Aston Martin grille, the new one brings to mind the original Tesla Model S grille. C'mon guys, be more original!
Fun fact about the logo is that each Revero's badge on the back is individually painted by hand (so each is slightly unique) by an artist in hawaii and the badge is signed on the back.
What the car is selling at the price point is EXTREME exclusivity. These are produced in VERY low numbers and if one was to buy it one would be one of the only ones in their city with it. So you are paying for that experience of driving something that has very bold concept car-like styling that a) no one has and b) no one knows what it is and then therefore c) it becomes a very interesting talking point, like a piece of art
THANK YOU FOR THIS REVIEW THANK YOU FOR TALKING NORMAL THANK YOU FOR SIMPLY STATING FACTS I tried to watch other videos but those guys don't talk normal or are trying to act "cool" AGAIN THANK YOU!
It is nice to see they made a good car out of that original disaster. It looks really nice and the concept of hybrid where the gas engine is a genset is a great system. The Chevy Volt (with a V) is like that too, and the BMWs as well (optional). I wish them success.
This car would sell well in the UK and RHD markets if it was available. Can’t quite work out why but I slightly prefer the details of the original Fisker though but either way it’s always been a beautiful design.
I recall Doug Demuro reviewibg the original Karma and the rear seats were TERRIBLE! I notice this was not addressed at all in this videi to see if they've improved the space in the rear.
Least exciting Launch Control launch I've seen, this side of Tesla. AWD, electric torque and traction control has taken all the fun out of burning rubber!
