Peter, thanks for the upload. I have been thinking about lowering my 690 solely to fix the inconvenience of approaching road junctions and getting on and off the bike. What Is the name if the product you purchased?
It doesn't seem to have made the side stand any less effective, I thought it may have made the bike stand more upright but I haven't had any issues at all
Guys told me they put a side stand off a 690 Super Moto on their 690 Enduro, so thats what Im doing. To me the stock 690R enduro sidestand almost stands the bike up too straight. If I get on with the sidestand down there is no way to get the sidestand up. With out getting back off the bike again. So Im trying the shorter super moto sidestand, found one used on ebay.
Excellent cheers. Can I'm torn between the 25 and 40 mm dropped links rally raid do. I have a 29 inch inside leg is this shorter than yours? Also How much did you drop front forks by?
Hi the drop on the forks I did was the same as the link drop 25mm in total the forks had a small 5mm drop when I brought the bike, the geometry has stayed the same and the bike felt no different other than the lower seat height which as helped me no end
Thanks Dean, I got the stand through Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Trad4U-1100lbs-Motorcycle-Scissor-Hoist/dp/B07FNNJZRP/ref=sr_1_11?crid=2FBO1TQAMQF1P&keywords=motorcycle+lift&qid=1643746610&sprefix=motorcycle+lift%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-11
No it didn’t affect the handling at all the slight drop with the fork kept the factory geometry settings and I could feel no difference in the handling of the bike prior to fitting the link
TBH I'm not sure some people refer to the standard has 7.2nm so my spring would be 8.5nm if unsure speak to a specialist they will always advise for free
Nicely done! Do you know if this kit would fit the 2021 model too? On the RR site is presented for 2019-2020. Also, I know that the original link has 4 needle bearings. Does the RR link have 4 bearings or only 2?
TBH I would give RR a ring there's always someone there during the week that could better answer that question again with the bearings I did notice that the bearings in the RR link looked to cover more area inside the link they also felt smoother than the standard bearings but they were new the KTM link Had covered 7,000 miles
@@gnarlybadger690 the same link fits 2021 model already. Btw - I asked them and their lowering link also have 4 bearings inside. 👍 I will place an order. Let's see how much will it take to cross the pond from the GB to RO.
