I've ridden the enduro version many miles offroad and loved the motor and handling. Couple years later, this one was staring at me as I walked into the stealership. Kept walking back to it and sitting on it. Couldn't pass it up. Absolutely love this bike, it's my favorite.
I have the enduro version of this bike; the engine is a incredible and surprisingly smooth for a big thumper. Had to get rid of the stock seat right away - a SeatConcepts does the trick.
They are NOT tube type wheels, they have been tubeless for the last 10 years! LOL! BTW the reason why the exhaust can is so ugly is that KTM had the sense to get rid of the CAT 'problem' by putting it inside an ugly silencer that they knew every single owner would dump on day one, therefore avoiding having to load the bike up with an ugly CAT in the exhaust system elsewhere like most manufactures do..
I have had my SMCR for about 6 months now. I have to say it is an amazing bike on twisty roads. I have owned Ducati's, Aprilia's and Triumph's... i can honestly say the KTM is just as fast on twisty roads as sports bikes. Actually I would say the SMCR is the perfect bike for a sports rider who wants a pure riding experience and is not interested in doing 160kph in 1st gear.
Where did you buy those Zeta handguards and the mirrors? I live in Austria. Edit: if anybody knows, pls answer. Or does anybody know the brand of those mirrors?
@@nfnonsense u can buy cheap chinese knock offs that work for other supermotos aswell for about 30 quid that have protected my bike on slides very well.
@@flez3393 I have to agree with you on that one. But the technical improvements since the previous model make up for it - and those are things you can't easily change by slapping on some decals. ;-)
You make it sound like the 2020 model is all brand new features? Hint: It's completely identical to the 2019 model. Same counter-shaft, same quickshifter, same electronics, same design, same everything. Get a proper exhaust (Remus?), the PowerParts air box cover, and do a tail tidy. Oh, and the KTM Ergo Seat.
I think by previous model it means not the one of the last year, because the last update there was in 2016( the model with the second Crankshaft, in the 2008 the first smcr came out and in the 2012 ktm made the first and BIG improvement, after the 2016 ktm only added accessories like the quickshifter)
Great video and fantastic camera work!! Really enjoyed it. Just please get your elbows up and slide back a little in the seat so you are 'squared' with the bike. Sitting far forward is essential when performing an aggressive 'maneuver' or action like backing the bike in or pivoting the rear in dirt etc. Also, get your elbows up! 😅👍
What I meant was in regular riding (98% of the time) scoot your butt back a bit so your knees aren't at such an extreme angle. A person controls a bike primarily through thier legs/hips. Sitting that far forward binds you up on a supermoto style bike👍
There seems to be running a theme.to all ktms I have been watching recently, they run. Very hot especially on the left side, they sound like agricultural vehicles, and can be very unreliable, but are always great fun to ride.
Very nice review : thank you! I have a question as I'm looking for the perfect bike for my use since a while. I'm commuting everyday agressively in a high traffic city on bad road but with a mix of highway. I bet that the acceleration and torque is high at low speed but would love to know how it behaves on the highway and what's the max speed. I know I would take a lot in my face but I'm already used to above 200kmh on my naked gsx-s every day so I think I can stomach the wind. How fast does it go and how stable is the handling above 150 (hopefully it goes above 150 ☺️)?
hi thanks for the video. I would like to make a few requests ... one is the review of the husvarqna 701 LR. and another to know if there is some type of organization that has data to know which motorcycle is more reliable mechanically and electronically ... and not just rumors and subjective opinions. Thank you!!
Hi! I’m 1.85m with inseam of 83cms, my legs are not very long and I have doubts if I can’t put my feet on the ground completely. Not easy discovery one in dealers here! What you think? Thanks in advance. Cheers
🤪😂😂😂 ni m-a ca ai uitat sa vorbești românește 😂😂😂 lasă m-a ca sunt americani și englezi care fac reclama la asta ,. Dacă tot ești roman fă-te înțeles romanilor !!!
@@apekattdeluxe3037 you have to give throttle so that the bike is accelerating, if you‘re just holding speed the quickshifter doesn‘t work for upshifting
Don't get me wrong but you need to improve your riding position a bit. You need to have a more squared position with your elbows just like a mx rider because you have wide dirtbike handlebars. If you are just cruising around you don't need to sit that much front of the seat just sit center of it but if you are riding sporty then where you sit is fine but you should be in a more attacky position like your jaw should be inline with handlebars.
I agree, get your elbows up!! You can slide forward on the seat if you're going to back the bike into a corner... But I can tell by your body position(s) and stoppies you aren't a very experienced rider. Which is 100% OK! Great video and fantastic camera work. Thanks!
The rediculas STUPID EURO 4-5 emissions requirements. It's a motorcycle... Not a fucking transport truck etc. A bike isn't going to melt the damn ice caps. Calm your tits Europe
