I have owned one for 12 weeks. Absolute luxury. Quiet. Refined. Eye catching. Very smooth. Good torque. Average 5 litres per 100 km around town. We are getting over 800 km out of a 50 litre tank.
Ay it's cool you did and entirely new and quality review for the people across the world, I'm really curious to see what Lexus does when they redesign all their vehicles great video 😀
Haha thank you my friend def cant leave the rest of the world out 😅 Yea everyone is very curious about where Toyota/Lexus is going to go moving forward
The 0-60 mph times on these seems pretty slow but how does it feel to get to 45 mph or thereabouts, probably more indicative of the majority of driving people do every day.
But you were driving the ultra luxury model? The thigh extender is only on that model or maybe not. I think MPG ratings are a joke. My current daily with a 2.5L 4cyl port injection engine is rated at 31 highway, I get 38 to 42 mpg. I drove the new camry v6 with port/ direct injection and was getting 42 mpg+ on my 40 mile commute. I am going to look at a CPO 2019 ES 350 ultra luxury with 14k miles for 41k this weekend. If they take $35k, i'd buy it over the avalon lol Side note, All Avalon trims have acoustic side glass. Ultra luxury and F SPORT packages have performance dampers at the front and rear of the vehicle, which absorb energy from the chassis for improved handling stability and ride comfort while reducing noise from vibration
Yea MPG are all over the place. Yea up to you the Avalon is a solid ride FAR superior to the Camry. If you get a good deal on an Ultra Luxury with ML audio could be considered but Avalon is a good buy
@@MeynMotorGroup If the price is right I'd go ES over Avalon. Thinking of $33424.80 - $35513.85 price bracket. 15% - 20% off asking price. I use this website for pricing. www.vmrintl.com/used-car/prices/2019-lexus-es.html
Yea it's all personal preference before the economy tanks again, you would probably get a lot more money for your Avalon now than later if you wanted to trade or sell under consignment. But again up to you whichever is more comfortable with you. People seem to be spending a lot on used cars right now because of all the free money pouring into the economy so you could get a lot
That's probably best no need to rush dealers always take advantage if you are. But if you think about the ES all the time then sure pull the trigger if you want it and it makes sense to you but again you will know best
@@MeynMotorGroup I like your reviews , any plans to review the Toyota century v12 , i like the look of the new hybrid century v8 but probably only in japan at moment.
I have a ES300h, every time when I press the throttle,I can feel the four-cylinder engine vibration come from the throttle. I am so disappointed for that. Can you feel it?
I feel that the problem is not in ECVT. The problem is the engine for ES300h which is A25B-FXS, every-time when it works the vibration is so strong, specially in 30-60km/h. I believe that because the engine needs to drive the generator and the Compression ratio 14:1 , so the noise and vibration come out. Moreover, this problem doesn’t happen in my CT200h.
That's why I would rather just have my ES 350 with regular 3.5 V-6...if you can afford a Lexus who's worried about fuel mileage after all?? Think about it...
I have an ES300h as a daily and it feels quicker and effortless off the line than my GS350 F sport! I like both of my cars for different reasons. But the ES hybrid makes more sense as a daily. Comfort, room, cheaper to run, and easy on gas by double the mpg.
That makes sense for sure, yea the more I think about it, the ES300h would be the superior choice over the ES350 very nice daily. So glad you own those awesome rides!
thnx for the review this is the only version we get here in europe of the ES and it actually makes sense they dont sell the v6 here , fuel is expensive and the germans just dont allow lexus to oversell them over here . Here this car or any other lexus really can only be found on the dealerships , personally ive never seen one on the road . So if you are european and want something serene ,smooth , realiable ,efficient and you wanna stand out from others this (Lexus) is the way to go. I tottaly agree with you on the stupidity having the fake sound on the LS , thats just non sense and imo having an f-sport on the LS is also pathetic , that car is and always has been the peak of confort and smoothness , thats the car identity dont try to make everything sportier . On a final note i wish lexus at least sold the 4 banger IS200t that you guys get there ,here in europe we only have that engine on the rc200t wich is a more sporty focused car , but i get it people would pick any german diesel over it
Hey thanks again my friend for stopping by and watching. Yes the emissions is really strict in other countries I have noticed and it is beginning to get more strict here in the States. Surprisingly, the ES hybrid might be the better choice for once over the V6. Yea fake engine noise is the worst especially in the LS, or at least give us the option to turn it off. I do want to check out the F sport LS and the regular to see what differences they made. Lexus never screws with the ride which is good but the steering and shift logic is a bit crisper in an F sport but we shall see, hopefully they didn't ruin it. And yes, I heard you only get a hybrid IS if I'm not mistaken? The turbo 4 would have been a nice addition there and not just for the RC. Thanks again for your amazing comments and support, stay blessed my friend.
Hi thanks so much for stopping by my friend and I am so humbled to hear that! Yea the ES hybrid is phenomenal, honestly probably the superior choice compared to the V6 due to how quiet it is especially in Luxury trim and above. You will certainly enjoy it! Stay blessed
@@philipclock I ended up getting a 2016 ES300h instead for the cost. Still stoked. I remembered this review, and I wanted to check back on my comment here.
I recently retired from my job at a Lexus dealership and I had a chance to drive this vehicle daily. I easily got 40+ miles per gallon no matter how I drove. On a trip to drop off a service loaner and pick up a service guest’s vehicle, I averaged 44 miles a gallon, round trip (about 90 miles of mixed highway and stop-and-go traffic.) If you are looking for a sedan and you have 55k to spend, this is THE car to buy. It is quick enough, especially in Sport mode. It is quiet, it is reliable (I own a 2013 ESh and have had ZERO issues since I bought it used 4 years ago). It’s more expensive to buy, but cheaper to own. All you’ll need to do is change the oil and the tires (hybrids are a bit tougher on tires due to the initial blast of torque from the electric motor), it is plush, it is loaded with features and it is comfortable.
I think your car reviews are more realistic than most of the other car reviewers. Keep up the good work. By the way I’ve always owned Toyota’s. My dream car would be the LC 500 coupe.
Hi sir thank you so much for that humbled to hear it. Yes I too come from a Toyota family I do like a lot of their products, LC is certainly their masterpiece it won't disappoint and you will have one soon my friend
Have you seen the new F Sport 300h? Picked up one of those last month, good motor so far. I too am heavy footed historically so a bit of a change but so far enjoying it. A different experience to a performance car, but fits well with the insane gas price in the UK. Do miss the being pushed into my seat when floor it, but the refinement and quietness in the cabin makes up for part of that. Great brand though, and wouldn't mind adding an LC 500 once have paid through the finance in a couple of years so be good to have both options.
Thank you Kevin, another good review. It is true that this vehicle is very quiet, which is great for city driving and I hate the fake noise they put in speakers so it is a good job it is not on this car...
Thanks again my friend, yea when I heard that this was the only model available in certain countries, I knew I had to quickly check it out. Appreciate you checking it out and yes haha fake engine noise is the worst!
Hi . Thanks for your review. As always, you're on point. I already recently purchased a 2019 gs350 f sport and absolutely love it. I am planning on a second car or suv for the near future. If you had to choose between the rx or this 300h which would you choose and why? I have been thinking of both but could use a little insight. which one would you give the nod for an overall enjoyable experience? Is the 300 h a little too close to the ground? Did you have any issues getting in and out? On my gs350 f sport awd, it's pretty high off the ground, and even though some prefer rwd for handling, I am tickled pink over the visibility and the ease of getting in and out. Thanks again. Keep reviewing.
Hey thanks again my friend and massive congrats on your new GS, glad you took advantage of that before they stopped making it. Hmm that is a tough choice, you would really need to make good use of the trunk space but the RX especially the 2020 is such a treat to drive. The ES is a bit less money and I personally don't need a ton of cargo so I may sway in the ES direction. But since you already own a sedan, the RX might be a nice little addition to the fleet as you can't put the seats down in either the ES or the GS. There is an RX hybrid which I want to review as well but the regular RX 350 is also amazing. I personally did not have any issues getting in and out of the ES but the RX is nice because you can just slide your rear end in and out pretty effortlessly. Def check out both, they are very rewarding vehicles, If I was in your shoes I might try to negotiate down on an RX since you own the GS. Just my two cents but whichever feels best to you my friend.
@@MeynMotorGroup Thanks so much Kevin. I really appreciate your input. In a world where everyone is buying suvs, it's difficult to get an objective opinion. I am looking forward to the hybrid review of the rx. Although I think that will add a pretty penny to the price tag. I think it's a 450h rx? Keep dishing out your brand of reviews. Stay safe my friend.
Of course my friend any time. Yea I understand huge SUV trend going on right now. And yes the hybrid RX is the RX450h hopefully it's as quiet and as smooth as this ES 300h. Appreciate all your support let me know what you end up getting!
When I bought my 2017 ES, I definitely wanted a vehicle without body side molding strips..prefer the sleeker smoother look of doors by themselves...great cars by Lexus!!
Great review again Kevin... interesting fact about the double pane windows on the luxury & ultra luxury models. I’m not 100% sure that my 2013 ES350 has the double pane.. I have to check my window sticker which thankfully the original owner kept in the glove compartment.. Mine has heated&cooled seats, rear window shade, BSM... i have the luxury package but not sure if that consisted of double pane glass.. its very quiet ... curious to know.. maybe you have an idea ?
Yea even if its not double pane, its still a very thick glass they use so def very quiet Im just shocked that they have a system like that from a manufacturing standpoint
Stephen I actually just compared the 2021 ES300h against the 2015 ES300h and those 4 features were missing on the 2019 (as well as genuine leather seats, coming with Nulux leather now) but they brought BSM back into the Luxury here in Australia anyways. And to be fair the 2021 is about 4-5k less as a brand new car so it makes sense that they got rid of a few features.
My 2019 ES 300h ownership comment copied from your 2020 ES 350 review... Great review, as always! Had 30,000 miles on 2017 ES350 totaled by feral pig (!); now 8,000 miles on 2019 ES 300h. Totally different cars!! 2017: a really good car. 2019: a GREAT car! Just wow. Liked 'em both, BUT 2019 with new platform DEFINITELY a couple of notches higher, feels more substantial,. - Wider frame, firmer feel on road, particularly corners. It just feels solid! 2017 very comfortable, a little wobbly in turns. - Interior larger, much improved dashboard layout, bigger screen, more interior room - lotsa little things: shifter firmer and more solid, pumping gas doesn't stop with two gallons left to fill, doors opening and shut more solid, Result: driving habits changed. More relaxed, more deliberate, more careful, park and drive in open spaces, avoid the lane jockeys and speed burners. Why? Because every time I'm in the car I really appreciate all the thought that went into creating this....dare I say it....work of automobile art. EXCELLENT gas mileage, smaller tank (13 gallons), REAL averages low 30's no pussyfooting in town, low to mid 40's freeway, I drive cruise control 60, sometimes 65. (Lexus avg. mileage 2.2.5 lower than shown odisplay ) Regrets: only that my car doesn't have all the luxury features it deserves: automatically closing doors, back seat massage, popup window sunscreens, heated rear seats, automatic ice chest with drinks (don't need Mark Levinson with poor hearing). Only other car I'd consider: Lexus LS 500h for the luxury and ride, twice as much, roughly same interior room. Where's that lottery ticket??
I appreciate your reviews. I have a 2020 Genesis G80 Sport AWD. Good car in many ways. And I like the power when I want it, even though averaging 22.7mpg; but I’m looking hard at the Lexus 300h as a possible replacement.
I thought there was no such thing as "negotiating" anymore with these dealers. I just bought a 2020 ES 300 trading in my 2019 ES350. I didn't negotiate at all with them. They wouldn't come down $10! But the 2020 ES 300 is quieter and especially HAS a much colder AC! (Live in Fla.) That's huge for me. And for some reason the wheels don't get as dirty as my 350 did! I was constantly cleaning those wheels! Maybe it's a new car I don't know. But the break dust is not as...... pronounced. White/Black int. And I super darkened ALL WINDOWS even the WINDSHIELD! Great look.
Hi kevin, this is not a belt and pulley type CVT. It's know as ECVT and actually has a planetary gear set. Most toyota and lexus hybrids use this gearbox except for the LC500h and the LS500h which uses the multistage hybrid gearbox.
Nice review man. Been watching you since stinger reviews. One question, do you think genesis g80 better than this in terms of quietness and refinement?
After buying the ES300h Ultra Lux, and going back and watching your reviews, I now realize you may have been in my head subliminally. You were right, it is an excellent car. Over 1100 miles we are averaging 47.1 mixed driving. I like it as much as the LS we had, that should not be the case, and regular fuel is good. I paid 52k the sticker was 57k, but more importantly at 52k I dont know what you would but better. We had a base rental albeit brand new Camry in July, another impressive car. Is the ES worth the extra money, to me yes, but the Camry for the money is a ridiculous bargain.
Wow great price my friend on an ES 300h UL! Very happy for you and yea sir it really is incredible just how good this car is. Hits way above its weight class and pulls off that 6 figure vibe, one of the most impress new cars on the market and I'm glad you got it. Did you trade in your LS 500 or do you still have that?
I traded the LS on the LX, then the RX 350 for the ES. I got good money for my low mile clean cars. I had to pay sticker for the LX, and at 52k I'm really happy with ES.
Hi Kevin, Do you know the difference between Luxury and ultra Luxury? All of the options offered on the ultra can be added to the Luxury model for almost 3k less than the base price of the ultra Luxury.
Ultra luxury just comes with a few more features like HUD you can see the difference on the Lexus website. Luxury model still comes with the important things like thicker glass and noise canceling wheels
@@MeynMotorGroup HUD is offered on the base Luxury as an option; I couldn't figure out why the Ultra model is almost 3k higher even after adding all the ultra options to the Base Luxury; the only difference I see is the pana camera on the ultra.
Between ES350 and ES 300h, which one will you prefer? Because now I have a ES300h but I want to change a ES350, because of the Four-cylinder engine noise and the Engine vibration.
Yes this is a real issue cars are so refined now that we actually pick up on and noticed every little creak, rattle, vibration, etc even tho it's totally normal. I'm leaning towards the hybrid actually I would buy it and never drive aggressively
Exhaust Sports Auto Not a problem yo bro I know your enjoying your girl way more now that she is tinted up less attention of stares on u that is but now she will get all the attention lol
Exhaust Sports Auto Lol I know it was bro and not fake stunting ima be honest a close cousin of mines that moved to California a long while ago suppose to got it haven’t heard from him don’t know if it’s because the deal didn’t go thru or what I was just real excited for him when he told me but to go all the down their just to fake stunt not me 😂 if anything it’s to spend time with family but if I ever do bro you’ll definitely be the first to know
@@MeynMotorGroup Ah ok. Sounded like a shop or a supplier of aftermarket parts but you just talk about cars from dealerships. Anyway, good job on the content.
They can but many Hybrids from Toyota and Lexus ran over 200k miles. But if you plan on owning this or any car got long period of time. Get an extended warranty
I hear they can use Toyota Priuses and other Toyota hybrid models as taxis in NYC and get 300k-400k miles out of them without any major work. After that, the battery is probably depleted, but that's twice as long as many people will keep their cars anyways. Toyota makes a reliable car no matter what. I also hear that the electric motor takes all the stress off the engine and CVT, so it prolongs the life of other drivetrain components!
I used to own a 2010 HS250h hybrid and got 261.5k miles out of it before I sold it with hybrid battery still working. Never had CEL or warning light on the dash. Mainly basic maintenance. Very cheap to own and extremely reliable.
GS is pretty old now and insanely expensive in the used market but is a much more fun to drive vehicle than the ES, will feel like a sports sedan. But with the current pricing, you're better off getting a new ES hybrid and try to negotiate a 5% off discount or something
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks Kevin im from Europe I can get 2017 450h with 60k km for 37k euro or for example 2013 450h 113k km for 23k what you recommend es vs gs I like more horsepower driving in Germany normally 180kmh the es is then on max but a younger car always good. thanks for the support best regards
@@dago4076 oh I see and yes if you love to drive I would say the GS is amazing and very quick as well but see if you can get a warranty or CPO model if possible
