Thanks Stephen. The Speedster is actually dark blue. I used a new camera guy for this one and it seems like there was a small issue with the audio. To be fair it was quite rushed. I drove down to Miami for the afternoon and we had a few hours of sunlight left.

Absolutely gorgeous Deep Blue Speedster. A GT dream car for the road.

The 981 Spyder is so so good. I love the look of the 718 Spyder but I am not spending £90-95k on one and then another £3-5k on an aftermarket exhaust.

Hi Terry. If you look at 6m 36s you will see the that red line starts at 8500rpm. The limiter or cut off is at 9000rpm. So the sweet spot is between 8500rpm and 9000rpm.

Either way it is not very loud

This one didn't sound too bad, but that's because I had the roof down so you can hear everything. However, all modern cars sounds a lot quieter and if you like noise you either get an aftermarket exhaust or an old model.

888MF yes....unfortunately it’s the ways things are heading. I reckon the 4.0 and back catalogue of NA engines is the way to go.

Nice idea but music is protected by copyright.

Nothing about this car compares to my GT3 RS 4.0 unfortunately, however the 4.0 is a track car and the 991.2 Speedster is a road car. So it feels softer in every sense. The gearbox is much smoother, in the 4.0 you really have to use a little force to engage each gear. All that said, having the roof down in the Speedster adds so much fun to the driving experience. I don't think the Speedster is worth over £200k thought, not when the 718 Spyder is so good at less than half that!

@Ken Befound No, its something with one of handheld cameras. Every time they shoot on it, the right channel audio is missing

I was waiting for someone to ask that question!! I would say that the 718 Spyder is nearly as much fun, but the Speedster looks so delicious, especially in this PTS blue and heritage interior. As I said in the review, it has very similar characteristics. A 718 Spyder will cost you £95,000 and the list on a Speedster is around £230,000 so its around 2.5 times as expensive. Ultimately you're buying a limited edition car and paying a big premium for that. It is lovely to drive though and being a 911 it has something special about it. So the answer is this: Both are great cars!!
