This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "distance pigeons for sale" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Hansaac Riyliver Scheme - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.

He is definitely blue based, and definitely homozygous spread too. That much is certain.

If you have death soon after hatching you likely have an illness in the loft, healthy babies do not die like that

They are all for racing, the coloured birds are tested in racing just as much as the blue pigeons. I don't only keep colours, I also have a whole loft of regular coloured champion race birds, I just don't show them off much in the videos.

Genetically they're entirely different genes. In practice, almond switches on and off colour production, grizzle creates "grizzling" in the feathers.

It is their cere, they grow continually throughout their life and can get quite large on older pigeons. It isn't a "growth", in the same way as your nose isn't a "growth", it's a normal part of the body and doesn't cause the pain.

@@delluis100 yes definitely too young, wait 6 months and you'll have no problem.

I know for sure it is homozygous spread, and blue base colour. Most likely not carrying dilute or reduced.

I'm Australian, but do not have any pigeons for sale.

Racing starts in May. I'm not racing my own birds this year, but I've sent birds to a few other lofts to race.

Since I was a child. Over 25 years.

It's a spread, definitely, but not ash.

My race birds are mostly Staf van Reet based - and I carefully bring the colours in, trying not to mess up the racing genetics too much. It isn't hard when you've put in the effort to learn how genetics work.

@@AdamArcherPigeons yeah the van reet pigeons are great, a man named mark cauldwell in the UK has the best van reets in the world, personally I wouldn't introduce any pigeons with no racing background into pigeons that we want to compete with, there is no strengthening the bloodline at all with that in my opinion but what you are doing is interesting and I shall be keeping and eye on how the young fair in the basket for you. Thanks - I'm confident with my breeding, because I'm very careful with how I add my crosses, and Ive spent years studying pigeon genetics so that I can bring colours into the birds with the minimal negative impact. Some are easier than others though.

It's not, actually! It is a recessive opal spread with some other gene smoothing out the colour.
