I've been buying reels straight from Japan for years. Also try Japan lure shop and Japan tackle. All are reputable and all have super fast shipping. Ive never waited longer than 3 to 4 days on a reel from all 3 of these retailers. The only catch is that you pretty much lose your warranty when you import these reels straight from Japan. But ive never once needed to use a warranty when ive bought through these retailers. You can return the reel within a few days if its damaged still. I always buy shimano and ive never once had an issue
I got my 2022 metanium shallow from digitaka 2 months ago. Was $280 to my door and got it in 73 hours from the time I ordered. I’ve bought 2 from Asian-Portal… bought a scorpion dc for $190 shipped and a twin power c3000xg for $290 shipped. Between digitaka and Asian-portal, I doubt I’ll buy a new reel from anywhere but them. Incredible pricing and you get it in under a week everytime
I purchased the U.S. version HG model before I found out about Digitaka. That's a great price but the differences are noticeable. The U.S. version has a deeper spool, brass gearing, bigger and beefier handle and a warranty. Does it justify the price difference? That's up to the consumer.
I also purchased the jdm metanium from a Japan website earlier this summer because I noticed the same price difference. The only difference is the jdm has a slightly smaller spool capacity as well as slightly smaller knobs. It has become my favorite reel and with the money saved put it towards an NRX+.
I think you may have gotten the new 22 metanium shallow, because the only difference between the US and JDM models are the manuals. One is English, one is Japanese. All the high end Shimano reels are built in Japan. I’ve bought a 22 metanium shallow, a 21 scorpion dc and a twin power c3000xg all direct from digi and AP and literally they are identical to us just the paperwork is different
Good Lookin on the info Wes!! I just ordered the 8.1.1 XG left hand from Japan tackle, I bought reels from them before and they ship super fast, I also put my pre-order in for the new SLX DC 22. Can't wait for the new SLX to drop!! Tight lines brotha!! 🎣
I'm going to need to be educated in a "Fishing Reels"doctorate course and become an MD like you in this field, just to be able to understand what I was even looking for or at, let alone buy something! Just messing around with you brother, but seriously speaking a lot of what you're saying to me is just going right over my head. I believe that I'm learning stuff from you, I just need to relax and give it time to sink in. Keep doing what you're doing, all is appreciated definitely! God bless!
Always enjoy the content and really appreciate the honest feedback and tips. QQ though, where did you get the new Googan hat???? Gotta have one!!!! Went straight to the app to find it and order several of them but no luck…😢
Just received my JDM Metanium this week. Gonna match it with a new Fenwick Elite Bass in ML power. See how it does as light lure combo. So pumped, but that IL winter is coming fast, so may be a spring fling.
Haven't watched in awhile.. think notifications haven't notifying me but as always bro u bring alot of education to the table. Kinda wish u didn't go GOOGAN and stayed the illest free agent. (But what do I know.. googan hasn't approached me🤣🤣) keep doing u.. keep bringing the diff 🙌🏾🤝🏽
Really enjoyed the video Weston I know you're like me you like to tinker and mess with reels get yourself a nice set of ceramics and put in that metanium and then watch that bad boy cast you won't believe it😜👍🔥🔥
Thank you very much. I just order me one. I'm hoping that they got some more. bro you are a lifesaver. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you brother.
In my research and experience, it helps to have a little give in your system when fishing with a chatterbait. Either slower action rod, or some stretch in your line. Might be why you lost a couple on it.
@@WestinSmith of course man! Especially on a braid to leader set up. I've always done well with my 7'2" MH/regular using a chatterbait. With that braid I usually don't even swing on em, just sweep and reel. Never had an issue landing fish, and the chatterbait is my #1 confidence bait.
I just bought 2 Metaniums from Japan Lure Net. I prefer them and Asian Portal Fishing over Digitaka. Japan Lure always throws in a free Vision 110. Super cool dudes.
Yep, I scored two Metaniums at average 235.00 Great reels. There is small differences between the JDM and the US one. I believe the handle is a tad smaller on the JDM and the brakes might be a tad different as well. Anyhow took a few times of use before everything got settled and dialed in. Love this reel!
@@ETuss713 The spools are very similar. I looked at line capacity for 12lb. On the JDM model it is 100m or 109.363 yds. On the US model it is 110 yds as per Digitakai and Tackle Warehouse
This has been k own for about a year. Digitaka is by far the best. 3 days shipped to your door with zero tax or shipping. While there, pick up line. Gosen amd verivas lines are a fraction of the cost. Same with many of the lures too.
Thanks, but by the time I saw this they were all sold out. I will be looking for a metanium dc in the future so I'm sure they will get them back in stock, I will check there in a few months thanks...jimi
@@WestinSmith The U.S. version has a noticeably longer handle with bigger knobs, has brass gearing, a much deeper spool and a warranty. I'm not talking bad about the JDM Met. because it's still a great reel and I've purchased 15 reels from Dig. since I found out about them 2yrs. ago. Great video; nice to see your happy with the reel.
Less than 2 weeks from all of the JDM sites I’ve used before (Japan Tackle/ Asian Portal) however I expect Digitaka to be about the same and have had tons of friends use them
Bro, how you gonna do me like this. You drop this video of this awesome reel at a hell of discount, the same week Googan Squad is dropping their reels. I’m not made of money! lol
That’s a tough decision just depends on what you like design wise in many ways. I say that because both are phenomenal and 150 size if I’m not mistaken so I assume you are considering that sick scorpion color scheme with fun factor of the DC whine ZINGG🔥🔥 otherwise I’d say you should just grab the Metanium for it’s lighter feel and newer tech
I own 3 met's and love them but the 21 JDM Zillion sv tw is a GREAT reel and it can be had for $220 at Dig. As a Shimano guy, I was seriously impressed with the Zillion. It's virtually backlash free and it casts plenty far with control. I would recommend the Zillion to anyone from beginner to pro. It doesn't cast quite as far as the Met. but it's less fussy to dial in.
crazy u been on pause while i just order 2 scorpion dc reels i would have got the metanium but they didnt have it in DC and i had to have DC or else i woulda went with thte bantam
