2020 Silverado 6.2 Exhaust Challenge 

This is literally the best exhaust video I have ever come across!!! This is exactly what a muffler comparison video should be!

Great video! Loved the comparison. The Borla’s and Magnaflow were my favorites followed by the original 40.

I just bought my 6.2 and this helped me a ton. I’ve had magnaflow on every one of my pickups but wasn’t sure how it sounded with the 6.2. Thanks for the video.

I just got borla s-types for my 18 Silverado 6.2. I've always had flowmaster 40s on my trucks but I think my 6.2 needs to breathe a little more. Can't wait to slap those bad boys on. Great vid BTW. Subbed.

Thanks for all your time on this and you obviously saved the best for last if you ask me. The 50 had the best tone out of all of them. For future tests I suggest you leave Magnablow out of the picture unless you use a Magnapack(s) ... it's the only one from them that sounds pretty good, all their others aren't much better sounding than stock.

Total and complete respect for the work involved in this! Unfortunately I've yet to find a Silverado exhaust that sounds similar to my 2017 camaro ss dual exhaust.. 😢 I might be regretting the trade 🤔

Rich P This was a very helpful video! One question, were the resonators off for all of the mufflers demos in the video except the initial stock muffler?

Out of all the Flowmaster mufflers I feel the " Outlaw " sounded best as far as aggressiveness but the "10" for me would be good. The "10" sounds good on the initial start up & under harder throttle but doesn't have a drone in the cab when cruising on highway and moderate when driving around town.

Outlaw all the way. Straight pipes sounded pretty darn good as well though

Flowmaster makes some great sounding exhaust. the 10 is a good sound but the outlaw is amazing sounding. and the 40 and the 44 and 50 are great as well. for the money it has to be flowmaster. I like the borla but not quite what I expected. I want to hear my 6.2 liter 2022 silverado, now the real problem is which one will I end up with?

Love the borla arak sound but wonder if I’d walk the kids up at 5 am when I leave

Awesome video. More shops need to do these so we can get REAL side by side comparisons. Same truck. Different setups. Those Borla Turbo XL and XR1 don't sound good at all, IMO. The ATAK is louder than I'd want but has that gurgle. Their Catback for these trucks sounds awesome (Touring version) but why pay for ALL the pipe?? And they refuse to sell just the specific muffler in that kit. Next to that the Flowmaster Super 44 had a little gurgle.

Flowmaster 10 sound the best!!!! I have flowmasters 40 on this same exact truck think imma move to the FM 10. Love that deep throaty rumble at low idle. I really don’t care for the crackly raspy sound much.

Can I ask why there’s a steady drone happening in the background of each sample? Before the truck starts, there’s a deep rumble like another truck is running next to the camera. Is anyone else hearing this?

Where did you find the mufflers? Trying to find an outlaw for my 2021 Silverado trail boss 6.2. Every site says that they do not have a direct fit.

Hey guys which MagnaFlow muffler did you guys use? I see the round body comes in body sizes of 4" to 7" body. Also what size inlet and outlet did you use? Does the length of the muffler effect the sound? Thanks...

I have a 2021 Trailboss Custom with a 6.2 liter. Did a muffler delete and removed the flapper. I left the resonators on it. It sounds wicked nice but the cab noise is too much for me. It aggravates me when the DFM kicks in. At one point it sounds like a Subaru! Lol. I live in West Virginia so going up and down mountains and the DFM kicking in and out is a bit aggravating. I ordered a Flowmaster Super 40. I just want a nice deep growling sound with little cab noise. Excellent video my friend!!

Honestly I actually prefer the straight pipe exhaust (provided that it would stay under the maximum decibel requirements) and true duals would be even better.

Sooo...just from hearing this video, straight piped or Borla Atack? Those sounded best to me. Or do we go with boomtubes? I’m actually trying to decide on an exhaust for my ‘18 6.2 Silverado. Just put a K&N Blackhawk cold air intake on. Next is longtubes and exhaust notes.

Hey guys want to start by saying this is a great, great video! I have been scratching my head at this to no end. I was originally leaning on doing a muffler delete, but afraid of any possible drone while driving. I love the sound of the straight pipe, but not sure how it would sound while on the highway? I enjoyed the sound of almost all the muffler options. What would be your choice for the best in balance between street and highway?? What are the diameters of muffler inlet and outlets?? At 1:25 was it straight piped-muffler removed with stock resonators or how did you do it exactly?

I’m assuming your straight pipe clip was after removing the resonators? I deleted my muffler and left the resonators on. It’s not as loud as that one.

Was the flapper removed?

What part # is the magnaflow?

I might be just me, but whichever exhaust they used I couldn't hear anything.

You have to delete resonators or cover them otherwise any muffler sounds stock.
