Swapping a center console and arm rest from a unknown 2019 (lt, Ltz, high country ??) to a 2020 silverado custom 4wd crew cab. t-50 bit for manual seat removal 18 mm council bolts 7mm screw trim piece under dash
I'll be posting my upgrade soon. Doing the full works . Custom to ltz conversion.. all interior parts work withthe silverado 1500 very slight. Diffences
For those that are asking, when I did this swap you could not buy a console from GM with one part number you had to order each little piece individually and there's lot of pieces. Best chance at on is from salvage, same console works in a crew or double cab. If you get lucky like I did, I found a console for $450 shipped and sold my jump seat for $850. Get yourself some plastic trim tools too, less chance of damage to the parts when you remove them.
Dude thanks for doing this video 👍... I just got a 2019 silverware 2500HD work truck and was wondering if I could do this exact upgrade... having a full console like that really makes a big difference, to me anyway.. it would probably even be pretty easy to get the harness or socket even with a few feet of wiring harness still attached from the bone yard and power up the rear hvac and other stuff..what a difference that made to your truck.. looks good👍... just the functional purpose of it is really worth doing for sure.. great vid and looks awesome👍👍
Dang it.. I read the comments here.. and I have missed my chance to find a LTZ console.... Would like to find one and swap out my jump seat, which has a center storage area.
I really don't care what trim level a Silverado is...A $50,000 vehicle should not need a swap-out to get storage in the armrest. This should be standard!
Excellent video. That is the one thing I hate about my TrailBoss, no center console. I’m straight across IL on US 50 from you. Where did you find this? Was it online?
I have a trail boss as well. So annoying! I picked up a new part out of an LT.. with storage. I wanted to keep the seat, just a new backrest with storage. GM Part number 84756948 - thinking I'll upload a video with the install
Shawn Gardner I’ve considered that option. It’s definitely cheaper. I’m tossing the idea around of just building out a totally custom center console. I will never use the jump seat, so storage and an aux switch panel would be more fitting for my needs.
Actually at 2:03 to the left of the air duckt there is a un used harness connection. That might have power for the USB. I never tried it, sold the truck back to the daeler
@@bincockwell2610i see a usb cable to the right of the air duct? Is that what you’re referring to? If so, that’s a charging cable you had plugged in at 0:08. Or is there a harness to the left that’s not visible in the video?
@@bincockwell2610 2:24 there’s what appears to be 2 wiring connections going under that carpet…is that the one you’re talking about? It looks connected. Are you sayin they were just under carpet unconnected?
@@Alex-oy6wb exactly, those were not connected to anything, just held in place by clips. Not sure if they had any power going to them. Could be a possibility. Good luck!
I really enjoyed your video. I am trying to do the same thing to my silverado. When you went on car-part.com you dearched center console correct? Or was it something else
I was so excited to get a trail boss didn’t realize they don’t give you shit on that car. Feel like an idiot. Still love the truck. Best looking truck out there but they rip you off with standard features. None.
bin cockwell Dosnt matter that truck is 🔥🔥🔥 i didnt even know you could replace that part of it,, You should put a lift on it next, tbh i think you should keep making videos on it and record every new modification you put on it you have a beast in the making.
This is so awesome, just bought the Custom trail boss , and man the center seat should have some storage inside it's ridiculous, glad i found your video i think ill make a swap!
Sounds as though you are in the same boat as me sir where you have the 2019 Trail Boss because going forward the center console on the Custom Trail Boss does open to reveal some storage it's not as deep as the LTZ or High Country but it does open on the newer models
bin cockwell because i was told that maybe under the console i dont have the stand or ‘bars’ that i could put the jump seat on so it wont be moving around .. so if you have any idea i would really appreciate it ♥️♥️
@@allenoliver1907I only know this works on a 2019 LT model not sure if it works on the other models. The LT has the wiring under the RH seat that plugs straight into the new console but it doesn't power the ports inside the console it only powers the ones on the back. The parts numbers for the pieces to complete the swap if you get a complete intact console are. Trim piece between the console and dash in black ...84127263 Extension harness that feeds the ports inside the console from the dash USB....84376073 USB port on the dash need to be swapped to allow the extension harness to plug into it and feed the console USB, the stock USB port on an LT doesn't allow for the ext. harness to plug into it.....13529873 I do have PDF's for all of the parts on the console in an exploded view, the only part not shown on them is the USB port in the dash.
I don't have a seat to swap you but I just finished swapping out my console for the jump seat and I made a youtube video for it if you want to check it out.
how much room is under the front spots where the wireless charger is and where you could put your feet prior to this install. thinking about putting a hidden safe if there’s enough room under that
Did yours come with the vin number on that tag? If it did do you mind sharing because im looking to find the floor harness to make everything work mine is exactly like yours!
I have a 20 LT, I want to do the same thing, you said you got it from a junk yard in Cincinnati, so you have a part number you used? Also, did you call the dealership in your search?
I used car-parts.com (salvage yard network) and searched front seat. Than looked at the pics to see what center counsel it had. I can only speculate a dealer would charge, most likely over a thousand dollars.
When you put the floor console in did you swap the anti theft module with the one from your original jump seat? If not did you have any trouble with power door locks etc?
U can buy the wired harrnes for that ... look for the one without wireless charge without rr heated seats with center console .. also u can ge the upper trim piece that says trim woth center console
Question Boss, We’re you ever able to get power to center console. I have watched a bunch of videos and read forums for answers. But no one ever address how to get power to it. I just bought a 2020 custom.
Good question. There where 2 wiring harness connectors that were tucked away on the driver's side of the transmission tunnel that I never thought to try an find a plug for. I assumed different trim levels weren't compatible. Sold the truck 6 months ago. Good luck
In another video I watched their was a wiring harness under carpet under passenger seat that the console plugged into. I was watching this one for confirmation
Great video brother! Can I ask which junkyard you got this gem from? I live in Cincinnati haha! I just bought a 2020 HD Custom and I need to upgrade ASAP!
@@KYoutdoors402 I ended up getting my Denali last week and I’m in no rush. I will be taking my time as I won’t need the jump seat until I have 2 more kids.
That's a good question, mabey not because the double cabs are produced in the United, while regular cab and crew cab are made in Mexico. Could be different?
@@bincockwell2610 driving to get one this weekend, should probably find out before I go 😬😬 I wonder with the front cabs being the same if it makes any difference at all
