@@dereknicol5284 I did think that any American viewers would be a bit miffed that he walked straight past that to look at a Capri! The Camaro and Mustangs at least got a mention though.
Top Gear’s dead in the water (no style or grace). The Grand Tour has been effectively axed. Schmee gone all smug and self satisfied. Harry is now the King of car TV. What a guy!
James Bruce And Top Gear had style and grace in the past? It was just an entertainment show. Clarkson saying wastegate flutter proves he has no clue about how cars work.
Mentioning Shmee in the same breath as Harry and the grand tour must be some sort of blasphemy. I don't know how anyone with half a brain can stand shmee at all.
Harry combines encyclopaedic knowledge, infectious enthusiasm, impeccable taste, enormous pedigree and unprecedented access. Harry Metcalfe is one of 2 automotive RU-vidrs (Chris Harris) that is worth a damn. Bravo Harry- Top shelf review as always and a wonderful way to spend 20 minutes dreaming :-)
Chris Harris doesn't give a fuck about RU-vid as long as he's getting those big fat BBC wages. Shame as they have completely dumbed him down to unwatchable on Top Gear.
I don't think anyone else could produce this type of video in such an informal yet informative and enjoyable way. Feels like we are given a personal behind the scenes tour by a curator. Thanks Harry, lovely way to spend my lunch break watching this today.
If I win the lottery,I'm also going,BUT I will be going by helicopter, and harry and his wife will be my guests of honour, and harry will be driving his wife home in an FF,my treat.
My mate puts cosworths and Porsche’s in Silverstone , you could buy them direct off him but he prefers not answering stupid questions off idiots with no money or geeks that think 40 year old used performance cars will be showroom fresh like new plus two idiots together bump up prices . He buys them off eBay and forums and just waves the thought of his money around ... Hey Presto !!
Just fabulous, I think you're never better than when previewing these auctions. At times I think you may well burst with the raw enthusiasm. Great work, many thanks!
I need to hangout with Harry and nerd out over some classic cars before I die. His passion for automobiles and wealth of knowledge is truly something to behold. Cheers from NJ.
Harry, it is yours and Iain Tyrrell’s clips that get me through a week. While I can ill afford anything in there, seeing and hearing your commentary takes me right into the room where you are! Thanks and keep up the great work.
These are my favorite Harry videos. I wouldn't mind if he did a three or four part series and covered all the cars. He's so excited about them too, so knowledgeable and it's just a pleasure to spend time with Harry at the auctions. And I want him to buy that Ferrari FF. I know he will someday.
Every car..... Just amazing. I had a crush on the Countach, as most kids, and sent Portman a letter expressing my interest in buying one. They sent me back a few brochures, must have been obvious it was written by a 10 year old. I still dream about owning one.
That was the most entertaining auction advertisement I have ever seen. Thanks Harry for your unbridled enthusiasm for all things fast and really, really cool.
Harry you have done it again. That's the most enjoyable thing I've watched in ages. And it's not just because of the mouth watering cars. It's also because of your brilliant presentation skills combined with all your knowledge and practical tips and guidance. Thank you.
Great video and some gorgeous cars. New to Harry's channel - he should get his own TV show - has a wonderful presenting style and talks to you like someone you're having a pint with!
Tell me where else I'll see a man of Harry's means geek out over the most beautiful machines in existence and I'll subscribe. Until then these are my best videos bar none
Brilliant as always. It would be great to see a follow up with you stating whether the cars have sold and at what price. In order to include all of the additional cars you wanted to feature, simply do another video.
The jag race cars with spares for 200-250k is a flat out steal for anyone wishing to go racing in a series. It would cost millions to put that together. And the Prodrive Aston Martin with additional aston and spares for 90-110k are incredible.
HARRY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHOWING SUCH A DIVERSE COLLECTION. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS AN AUCTION BUT THE ONLY SHOW THAT COULD POSSIBLY COME CLOSE WITH SUCH A MIXED BAG IS THE CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE, HERE IN CINCINNATI. COOL STUFF.
The reason these videos are so successful is because Harry knows what he is talking about and he very obviously enjoys talking about cars and gets as excited as we would if we were there! His enthusiasm is infectious! Well done Harry! If I had the cash I would have had to bid on the 2 rally V8 vantages! P.S. Every time I see a V8 Vantage i'm reminded how beautiful and timeless that design is and how unsuccessful the current one is! (For me it's the headlights on the new one they just look generic to my eyes).
Harry, that Orange 1990 Countach is begging to go an live on Your Farm with Your pretty LS5? Awesome walk. Thanks HG, You want that Orange Beast, You Deserve it!
Love the orange countach from Portman lambo in George street, well, use to be back in the eighties, i remember going there and viewing some awesome cars including a all yellow countach 5000qv. Those were the most finest days.
Your story of the Hyena is spot on Harry. Sadly Fiat ultimately didn't sanction it, refusing to supply Zagato with the Integrale parts, so Zagato had to buy brand new Integrales and chop them to make each Hyena. That's the reason so few were made, as this process made each car eye-wateringly expensive and Paul Koot could find few takers.
That TVR SE AC is awesome, I always thought of TVR as the bumbling one who always had good intentions but never executed them properly - until now. However, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for TVR's and their design.
I've had my second Griffith now for 9 years and yes their build quality and reliability aren't like mass produced cars but they really get under your skin. The best thing about them is the public's reaction and the fact that unlike a lot of performance cars you don't have to be wringing its neck to have a grin on your face. And the noise of course! :)
I will never have enough money to ever purchase most cars on this channel, but there is something about how Harry presents his channel that makes it the best on youtube. Really would love to have the Subaru rally car, loved Colin McRae as a driver.
Good evening Harry, excellent video AS ALWAYS!! Thank you for the in-depth knowledge and passion you have for the cars. With these auctions, is there anyway you would be allowed to do a video afterwards to let everyone know what the cars actually sold for? Guide prices are all well and good but sometimes a little gem can come up and surprise everyone. Thanks again and greetings from a cold and bleak Scotland.
The Ford Escort RS 2000 mk1 is one of my favourite car's. Ford Capri 2.8i, Lotus 7,VW Golf GTI mk1,Lotus Carlton,Ford Anglia,BMW M3,Rover SD1,Jaguar XJS
Your knowledge across the range is amazing Harry. Lots of lovely stuff - I had a blue 450 SEAC when I was 28 - it was absolutely brill' to pose about in (the super-tuned Buick V8 threw out 6 feet flames) but utterly awful otherwise when out for a blast on B roads - great vid!!
Another fantastic video, some lovely cars & if my lottery numbers came up & I could obviously go back to then, then i'd bid on the Hyena, the Countach & the RS500.
