"Hey guys we've got 3 brands: ride, salomon and burton, and we've got 3 boards from each brand that we're most excited to talk to you about... so twelve boards" lol 9 you mean? jk love ya guys
Hoo Hoo! Can't wait to get to riding some of these suckers! Love how Chris is able to edit together my incessant ramblings, into something cohesive and stream lined!
Andreas Schubert , hi I see the Salomon Hologram in the background I’m looking a getting a set just not sure what size I own a pair of adidas superstar boots and not sure if I should get medium or large bindings,Thanks
I picked up a 59 Orca for this season but I've had a interest in the Ride Pig series maybe I'll get to add one to my quiver in the future. Keep making great vids
I need a comparison video: Flight attendant Vs T Rice Pro Hp. Looking for an all mtn freeride board, that's good. In powder, hard icey snow and groomers, while also good enough in the trees.
I agree with JE, the TRice is great is most every conditions. It starts to struggle in deep powder, but having said that the snow here when I was riding was usually pretty heavy. Flight attendant is a killer board too! Tough decision
@@ChrisEyres Salomon’s take on the Orca pretty much. More buttery than an Orca, but volume shifted and directional with a setback like the Orca. It’s got a super mellow camber and a radial side cut. Super fun cruising deck 🙌🏼🔥
Really great series of videos. The two of you work really well together. Very helpful insights into the mass of boards out there. I'm interested in a good 'all rounder' for mostly 'all mountain' riding. Have been looking at: Capita Mercury, Lib Tech Orca, Ride Super Pig. Previously been on Burton boards, Free Thinker and Deep Thinker. Kind of looking for something that could be more of a mix of the two. Any thoughts?
If you're used to riding camber boards, in free and deep thinker, did you want to try a hybrid profile? They are all great looking boards. I think if you know if you want a camber or hybrid, and if you want a volume shifted board you should be able to narrow it down. Good luck! I would be probably get the superpig
@@ChrisEyres thanks Chris, yep the Super Pig looks really cool. I am partial to camber boards and I don't mind them being stiff. Do you think there would be issues riding the Super Pig switch?
Whistler village looks weird without snow. burtons killing the graphic game this season! Ride not so much... Which is your pick for best looking chris?
Hi Chris and Andreas. I'm looking for a beginner board for my wife first time snowboarding. She's quite tall 172cm/ 73kg. Not many boards here in Europe in that size. I found 3 boards in her size Salomon Wonder 154, Burton Stylus 152, and Roxy Ally BANANA. ALL on special offer. Which one would you choose? WONDER seems to have great features just a bit worried if not too catchy for learning. But pretty sure it would be great then to progress. Stylus seems really easy but not sure if she overgrows it too fast. What's your opinion guys?
I talked to Andreas and we (he) came to the conclusion you should go for the Ally, cause it will be super fun and much easier for someone who has never done it before.
That assassin pro is really nice looking but I've been wondering. I've seen it shown with a black base online but in all the videos I've seen it in it has the lighter base. Do you have to like special order it with the black base or is it more of a 50/50 chance you might get one or the other kinda deal?
For burton which bindings cut chatter better the EST or the flex? Burton has the 2 types of bindings either just for burton or the EST for any board. Does any binding cut chatter better then another?
Hey I'm trying to decided between the superpig and the salomon assassin pro. I have a mind expander so not to fussed on how the float in the deep stuff, just which would be better to tear up groomers with little bit of park and off piste riding. What would you recommend?
Oh man, that's a good question. My impression is the super pig is gonna be stiffer than assassin pro, if only a little, with the volume shifted profile it will be a bit more agile and playful around the mountain. I would prob lean superpig, but TBH I haven't ridden it yet
@@ChrisEyres thanks Chris, I think I'm getting hooked on the look of the Huck knife haha. I'm looking to get better at small jumps and rails but also have a board that I can confidently carve up groomed runs. so maybe a freestyle board with not too soft of a flex? I'm a total noob so I'm new to the different types of boards. Would I be going wrong with the Huck knife?
hey Chris I'm interested in the new Solomon sick stick 157, however I don't know if it will be to big for me. I weigh 150 pounds and I'm 5,8 FT tall, should I get the 153 instead? thank you for your time.
If you’re kind of in between sizes and not sure, I think it’s best to look at what terrain you’re riding; more trees and fast turning probably go for smaller size, bigger alpine terrain size up. It’s hard for me to say cause I don’t know you’re riding. I’m sure whatever you get will work great 👍
I’m looking to get a powder board I’ve got it narrowed down to the Salomon sick stick 151 or the hps Salomon x asmo 157. I’m stuck can’t decide I’m riding Snow basin in Utah we get maybe 3 days of good powder that’s making me lean more towards the sick stick. Hoping you guys can help ? Thanks
We didn't include lib tech cause we had already done a full video on their lineup but we hadn't looked at these brands and wanted to give some of favs without making the vid too long
I don't know enough women's snowboards to give you solid advice, but the gnu lineup looks pretty good, Velvet, Klassy and Ladies Choice are worth a look
I am, but gonna be more focused paying for some trips... Eg Japan, think between the TRice and the Jones Storm Chaser I have early season conditions covered. Actually having said that I am looking seriously at getting a splitboard setup! Get some more backcountry turns in this year
I am one of those guys who is not a fan of the Burton channel system even tho you can fine tune your stance better.. I rather have a "dead lead" spot then that hollow week point the channel creates. Also the Burton Reflex bindings flex better then the EST ones, made for the more flexible board.... To me it is like the double take system. They are sacrificing performance for originality. Well and force you to buy more of their gear.
