Having owned an Outback for a few years and having sat in an Ascent, I would say the Ascent seems a more comfortable car. Reviews I've seen often mention how comfortable riding it is, and the seats are quite nice. As a larger, more expensive car than the Outback you'd expect it to offer superior comfort.
