Thanks for posting this, I had about 30 notifications on a 15 minute drive. Shutting those off next time I drive. Thanks again 👍🏻

Thank you! At times I had to OK ten alerts before being able to use the touch display. Your video was very helpful and easy to follow! Thanks again!

This is a fantastic channel. Thank you for such wonderful information and dissemination of information. Just bought a 2020 Subaru Outback Onyx XT to replace my 2015 Subaru Outback Limited that finally gave up the ghost on the CVT and head gasket. However it did get me to about 168K.

What do you think of the turbo so far?
@vedder10
@vedder10 4 года назад
SubaruOwnerTips my outgoing 3.6r was more immediate in its power, however after a noticeable lag the turbo does kick in nicely. I guess it’s just the nature of a turbo. Overall I like this vehicle better. It seems stiffer and more refined. First time I’ve ever stuck with a manufacturer and purchased the same exact model.

Thanks ! This really helped. The Alerts were driving us insane. I see you live in Lehi! I grew up there. Living in AZ now. Small world. Thanks again!

I am indeed in Lehi. I used to live in Mesa. My family helped settle the Tuscon area, so I have extended relatives all over Arizona. Beautiful state. Glad the video helped!

Ryan, Thanks for the informative video. I am an early subscriber. I have ordered a Limited XT, just like yours - red. I told the sales person about your RU-vid channel, and she told me she tells all new clients about it. Our car is in, the dealership is installing a CD player (the factory for some reason couldn’t) and we will take delivery within the next six weeks, depending on the COVID restrictions - the sooner they come off, the better. Enough of that - I’ll study the owners manual and review all your videos again before we go pick it up. Again, thanks for all the invaluable information.

You are going to love it. I think the Limited XT is the best trim available. Many people are waiting on the factory to get back up to normal operating levels. They are reopening with limited operations tomorrow (May 11th), with full operations starting up next week. Hopefully that won't delay things too much for you. Mine came in about six weeks after placing the order, back in September 2019.

SubaruOwnerTips Ryan, when we discussed ordering it, the delivery time was 8 to 10 weeks. It actually came in less than five weeks. The plant apparently didn’t have the CD unit, but the dealer found one and are installing. Hope it looks as good and is as reliable as a factory unit. We had a 15 Limited, red with ivory interior. Would rather have had that combo, but it wasn’t an option. I’m glad to hear that Subaru is opening up their production lines again. The local SLC area dealers are low on inventory, particularly the XT models. I’ll let you know when we get it.

Enjoy your videos. I would like to see a video about taking the 2020 OutBack to the car wash (the put it in neutral and get pulled down the line). I think I would have to disable anything that did automatic braking (but exactly what I don't know). I also think you have to keep your car doors locked so the gas cap cover can't open. Would appreciate your comments / video. Thanks again.

Thanks again for more great tips. I got my 2020 Subaru Outback on Thursday, May 7, 2020. From watching your videos, I did check that my firmware version was up to date. However, my maps were dated sometime in 2018 (sorry don’t recall the exact version). I updated the entire North American map set by downloading the newest map set to my iMac, transferring the map set to a USB stick, then updating the map set in the vehicle. I didn’t “stand over the process” however it did take several hours. Just a thought if you haven’t yet updated your map set yet, a video might be very helpful. Warmest Regards. Thank you for the great videos!

Thanks for the tip about the weather alerts! I found instructions somewhere else that said to turn them off a different way, but I was severely disappointed to find out that it did nothing! I was actually driving home from work in a thunderstorm, and I was getting about 5 popups at a time, every couple minutes!!! I'd clear them away, only to see the same ones again a few more minutes later. IT'S SO ANNOYING AND DISTRACTING!!! Why not make them a notification bubble or something? Like on a mobile phone? I mean, the 11in screen is pretty much that anyways: a touchscreen mobile phone. I was even having trouble trying to navigate to the settings shown in the video... because alerts were popping up! (I wasn't messing with it until I got into my driveway, by the way). I love my Outback and all, but the obtrusive weatger alerts is a major design flaw, as far as I'm aware. It should've been avoided, or at least, implemented far differently.

The problem is that the start time and end time is completely blank so I have no clue when the storm starts or anything

Mine stopped working when my 3 month music trial ended. XM offered me a good deal and signed up but this still doesn't work!

It’s not that the alert is far away it’s that they are extremely repetitive.

Ryan are you aware of any screen protector for the center console? Helps to prevent fingerprints.Thanks.

There are a few available on the market. I have the NuShield DayVue protector. I have yet to install it. The screen has been easy to clean, when I remember to clean it.

Thanks for the videos. I just got a 2020 Outback Touring. Can I recommend a video, I found mine came with the interior light settings on max. This made the map screen not go to dark mode at night and is blinding bright. I find I need to turn the interior light setting down one notch for it to auto go in and out of darkmode.

Is there any hope for me, I have a 2019 -3.6 outback. And the weather alerts drive me absolutely crazy. Unfortunately I do have a three-year contract but the menu is quite different on mine as opposed to the 2020 model. I don’t see any menu for getting rid of the alerts. Help!!

Thank you for your videos, they are the best! Quick question... at the top of your screen there is a calendar, oil temp, and fuel cons. How did you get that up there? I scroll through and those options are not there on mine? I have a 2020 Touring XT. Thank you in advance:)

Apparently the icon is enabled in "accessories" mode, but disabled when the engine is running. I was able to follow these instructions with the vehicle in "accessories" mode.
