Cobraman82 jb4/burger tuning for the most part are based on stock compressor mappings - custom turbos will need a custom tune.

My boy had a jb4 with a aftermarket turbo on his 335i that he converted to single turbo and it worked fine they even sent him different maps and his car was making over 500hp

Let's not forget that Toyota outsourced their 2JZ block to Johann Krause German Engineering Firm for final development as well not to mention that the MKIV turbo had a GETRAG transmission also German. No one bashing the MKIV for having German sourced parts and engineering back then. (rolls eyes)

B58s were hitting 700hp months before the mk5 was released publicly and there's a bunch of differences in the since there's different versions of it or basically saying same engine small changes(like heads,turbo,fuel system,Air filter,etc)and may also go by different names(for example B58A,B58TU,B58C,B58M1...)they might even hit higher than the S55 since its record RN is 1178hp on stock block and internals. The B58 might break that but I can't say it will but since its block, bottom end,and internals(forged too) are from the B57 diesel i6 it might handle 1000hp like it's noting. Even sleeving it won't be long since it's block is made out of the same material as the VR38 and Coyote are.

Carboy Dorifuto party I know that... the thing is that even the 2JZ took about 5 years to get someone making higher than 600hp reliably and that’s what driving me nuts... these engines just throws out power like its nothing on stock engine.

Carboy Dorifuto party to not talk about that these engines design looks a lot like the 2JZ... the main difference is in the head and the materials used (2J used cast Iron, the B58 uses cast aluminum)

@@VDdsw well B58s (depending on which one it is)normally have 6 port heads while now the mk5 has one with a 2 port heads(probably had something to do with Toyota) while I heard the next year models are supposed to get a higher hp B58 with 6 port heads(not sure why they are doing it this way)

Sensor only reads air temp at the inlets that's why it's in the intake and not a charge pipe. TMAP is in the manifold

Well it was put in a platform known for being over built from factory. Most of the people buying the new B58 rather go A to B in comfort rather than, make 1000 hp. Meanwhile the supra in the aftermarket community is know for making unmatched hp numbers on stock internals.

@abortioncritical not true there isn't a single Toyota part on this engine. It's the new TU version of the b58 which comes in all the new G Generation BMWs.

The supra model is B58B30C the g series uses B58B30O1. The 30C is only used in the supra

I just found out that to upgrade the Civic Type-R Fuel system to handle more than 360whp, you have to pay $2850 ($150 core) for a complete fuel system upgrade... and it's still on 4 injectors. Then, the stock turbo can make 390whp maxxed out, or go larger turbo ($4500) and make over 460whp. No thanks.

Now because it has power.....

Plus right hand drive is awesome. anyone whos actually driven right hand drive it only take about 2 days to fully get used to. and taking turns is actually easier. you can brace youself better. even if you dont import a turbo one. ive personally seen supras for 7k in canada. Just get an NA do gte motor swap big turbo few other necessities and you have big turbo supra for under30k. Also most ones in japan you import already have alot of powerful or tasteful mods on them. So if you know what your looking for you can make out like a bandit. My friend matt imported a blown motor r32 for peanuts. Took it appart replaced rods pistons and rings. ran the car and dynoed it. It had 800HP he paid 10k for the car. plus 2k for rods pistons rings some misc stuff.

Some bypass valves blow air off to the atmosphere and you get that psh sound, some recirculate it back into the exhaust, and then there are ones where you can do a split.

Blow off valves really aren't that loud. It was just a thing in the early 2000s for manufactures to design them to be loud because people are retarded.

B58s were already hitting 700hp a little before mk5s started popping up but now their really bringing in more aftermarket for because of the mk5.

You'll have to be more specific since theres a bunch of 40i BMW's....

Yes but it's either or with B58s. It's some that are integrated and some aren't depending on what version it is. It was rumored already that next year's mk5s aren't going to have integrated heads and will be 6 port instead of the 2 port heads we have now.

As far as I know the only thing on this that's Toyota is the emblem everything else is BMW Z4. It's a shame that Toyota has the balls to call this a supra when it's know where near a supra
