Suzuki drives a hard bargain with its 2020 GSX-S750 ($8,499). Boasting big-bike inline-four performance in a well-honed and made-in-Japan package, the GSX-S750 is a fun motorcycle if practicality and quality are what gets your blood pumping.
--
Like most modern Suzuki street bikes, the GSX-S750 offers a cozy riding position that is neither too sport nor too relaxed. Seat height is a tad taller than a GSX-R sportbike, but that’s not a bad thing-especially for a taller rider. The handlebar has a nice bend to it, but it could benefit from less rearward sweep. It is, however, positioned more favorably than bikes like Triumph’s Street Triple RS.
Hard on the throttle the GSX-S750 delivers all the right sounds from behind the handlebar. The inline-four offers a meaty growl, and throttle response is smooth and accurate without being overly sensitive.
Power-wise, the bigger-bore, shorter-stroke 2005-generation GSX-R750-based engine feels as punchy as its supersport brother off the bottom and through the midrange. Up top, power signs off, albeit smoothly. The last time we dyno tested the GSX-S750, the engine was good for nearly 95 hp and just over 51 pound-feet torque. For reference, a 2011-2021 GSX-R750 dolls out around 125 ponies at the back tire. If you’re seeking usable real-world engine excitement that is enough to get the blood flowing, but not so much to scare you, then you’ll appreciate this powerband.
Three-way-adjustable (plus off) traction control is standard and is easily manipulated via handlebar-mounted switch gear. We like the ability to toggle between each setting, including disablement, while riding. And while we appreciate the GSX-S including this technology, in reality Suzuki’s wheel-speed-sensor-enabled traction control system is more rudimentary as compared to others in this segment, including KTM’s 890 Duke R. But then again, the GSX-S is a whopping $3,200 less expensive, and you get two extra cylinders.
A six-speed gearbox and manual cable-actuated clutch perform without issue, however the clutch mechanism doesn’t offer slipper function. This requires smoother clutch hand work during high-rpm downshifting to prevent the rear wheel from skidding.
In spite of its relatively hefty 465-pound fully fueled curb weight, the GSX-S750 is exceptionally agile in motion. It offers easier steering manners, and KYB-sourced suspension components offer surprisingly good damping settings. Suspension adjustment is limited to spring preload only fore and aft, but we didn’t miss not having damping adjustment. We also appreciate how the frame looks like a twin-spar alloy setup despite being actually stamped from steel.
Triple-disc brakes keep speed in check and offer pleasing response and power at the business end of either lever. Fixed, always-on ABS is available for a $400 upcharge, but we appreciate the manual experience the GSX-S offers.
Parked well away from the limelight of higher-specification equipment from Europe, the GSX-S750 is perhaps one of the most capable all-around naked bikes for the price. It delivers a polished riding experience with an entertaining character. Real meat-and-potatoes-style riders will simply adore what Suzuki offers with its 750cc naked bike.

@@Fee.1 no knowledge on the honda but I don't believe you can get it up to 120hp, even with tuning. You'd have to spend a lot of money to get it there. Exhaust, tune, mapping can get you up to about 112hp. I don't think I've seen many people get this bike beyond that. But it's not really needed since it's a torque monster. Low end power is where it shines

With the current market Z900’s and MT09’s are marked up to $12,000. Not the humble GSXS 750 though. Just checked my local dealer, they are asking MSRP flat, unlike the more sought after Yamaha and Kawasaki. So the GSXS is really a value right now
@mindspinn311
@mindspinn311 2 года назад
@@sleeper.simulant7327 Good to know. That said, you could buy the new GSX-S1000 for less than the MT-09 or Z900 with markups. My local dealer has a $1000 discount advertised, so that basically takes off the normal fees. I’d gladly pay sticker for that bike! The 750 is about $2750 less expensive, but the 1000 is a much better value.

I rode both the 750 and the 1000 at Daytona's bike week earlier this year. The 750 is lighter, and really flickable, whereas the 1000 is a heavier and somewhat harder bike to wield. Hands down the best two bike's I threw a leg over in a long time, and talk about bang for the buck, both are screaming deals. I promptly bought a Phantom black 1000F model upon my return home to Miami. The K5 Gixxer engine was the driving factor, it is simply my favorite liter bike motor of all time. You really cannot go wrong with either of these beasts. Safe riding you all.

I've got a 2018 version with the ABS and haven't regretted it at all, getting over 40 miles per gallon commuting, and none of that is Highway and yes the mpg will dip When you want to hear the intake sound and the Yoshi making noise. In my opinion Suzuki hit the mark with this model in that it does a lot of things really good but not any one thing great or superb. It's just an all-around really good package and you can usually pick them up for under $8,000.

First rode this when I was in India. It's genuinely an easy bike to ride, regardless of your skill level. As long as you don't pop the clutch every shift, there's no rear wheel spinout. Center of gravity and balance point is perfect for me. Only "issue" I had was the bikes pickup on 1st gear isn't ideal in heavy slow moving indian traffic, other than that, it is a good bike.

Finally got to test ride a three year old GSX S750 with 16k on the clock. Dealers don't seem to have demos these days and sometimes not even stock! Loved it. Much wider through the engine than my twin 500 with a higher seat and 14 more kgs. However the rake on the front forks is steeper and it felt light and very flickable. Very settled and smooth. Gear box slick. Plenty of power through mid range around town, lots if you let the revs climb. Did a roll on in top at 60kph. Smooth and felt quick enough, then suddenly I was up on the car ahead. I had found the torque and HP curve! Most impressed by the clutch, throttle, power, gear box interaction. Found it intuitive to ride smoothly from the get go. The Suzi auto throttle on clutch release is a nice touch. Got blips on down changes smooth immediately. Smoother than my twin! I think the clutch friction zone and quick revving four help. Box smoother into and out of 1st and 2nd. Only downside was the wind at speed. 100kph was ok. At 130 my helmet was lifted up and pushed into my face in an unfamiliar way. Did not like it. Perhaps I should try a semi tuck and pull my chin down. Maybe a fly catcher screen? Ran out of space and had to move through lanes and exit. Did not try twisties but imagine it would be settled. Did not test mirrors. The tester bike had tiny bar ends. Felt blind. Nice bike and great value. Very impressed. Would be a perfect commuter where I live and weekend toy. On my list against the MT09.

The intake sound alone of this bike is worth the price. I had the previous generation and I never wanted to get rid of the stock exhaust because I didn't want the sound of the exhaust to overpower the ecstasy of that intake. And i heard this newer generation sounds even better. EDIT: Also, 1st gear hits about 62 MPH. I never used more than 3 gears unless I was on the interstate. It likes to cruise at about 6k which happens to be right around where the power starts to get fun. Cruising around in 6th gear at 50 mph is just using this engine incorrectly.

This review is totaly on point imo. I love that this bike feels more analogue in comparison to other much more tech advanced motocycles that are out there. I wish it had a bit more torque down the low revs but coming from the Vtwin school, I kinda have to get used to let the rpm go higher before shifting but but that's just me who needs to get accustomed to I4s. I easily get 39+ mpg, even with a bit of spirited riding. I'm not a fan of the fascia.. a bit too Mangaesque for me but this being said, when I ride I don't see it. Small things, eg. the sidestand is quite cheap and flimsy. It could use LED lights and indicators and I wish the rev limiter would be 250 RPM higher so you could enjoy that nice howl for a bit longer. I found myself hitting the limiter quite often. Also the rear seat could be just a tad further back so there would be a bit more room to change position if / when needed when riding.

Thanks for doing this review. Kind of a sleeper. I felt the distance from seat to handlebar was too short, so i bailed on buying. But since you are a tall feller and fit fine, I was probs wrong on that.

If you look at the mirrors and compare the shape of them, and look at the fact that one looks to sit lower in comparison to the mounting arm, one of the two is upside down. As far as the fuel economy, he said something about how it should get 38 with normal riding. My 2020 Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe, with 948cc and about the same weight, easily gets about 51-52 mpg with a mix of riding. So if he's correct, that's pretty sorry fuel economy. Even my much heavier, air cooled 111 cubic inch 2016 Indian Springfield managed 42 mpg.

Up to mid 2000's there were a fair choice of half faired mid-size nakeds but they have pretty much been killed off in favour of "adventure" bikes. I wish they would come back because they are the best jack of all trades bikes. Aprilia RS660 has me interested but it's a bit too expensive. I'm still happy with my Kawa Z750S as there's really nothing similar in newer bikes.

Why is it being compared to the 890 Duke R? Which is like ~$3k more expensive? Wouldn't the 790 duke (still for sale) be a better comparison? Or the Z900? Also I don't think I've seen any other reviewer use first gear on this bike as much as Adam does...

@SedrikGSX
@SedrikGSX 3 года назад
@@alexanderconti521 WOW, JUST WOW. Amazing. Brakes are incredible though the ABS sometimes turns the bike aside a little, really funny that you can enter a corner aside(?) with total control. The engine is really linear on the power, tameable and smooth, but yet it has good exit with low rpm's and the sound changes to something more like a typical 4-cyl screamer engine, on low revs it's more rough and aggresive, I love it. Realy agile, fast, easy to get used to, enjoyable....Don't think and buy one. You won't regret it!! Plus you have 3 TCS modes and can be switched off. ABS can't be turned off, at least in Spain. Hope you get one! Tell me what you think! Cheers mate!
