Thank you Blanquita. Next year we are going to have to clone you so you can make your rounds. Lol. I really enjoy this show. So many new vendors with new merchandise, plants, orchids, supplies and awesome candles that don't make their way to my turf. Hope to see you soon.
Thank you Avant. Yes, there were over 100 vendors. Not all orchids, but most were. It is just making it more difficult for the person that is looking for just one more orchid. (That ain't me!) Lol.
Thank you for taking time to watching my videos and enjoying. Perhaps you can make the Tamiami orchid show next year. It seems to grow yearly. (Now if I can make my wallet grow yearly.) lol. Have a nice weekend.
Lynn, it would have been fun. I could just see us. You picking out an orchid for your cart, and me picking it out off your cart and into mine. Lol. It seems like the event increases in vendors yearly. Also, we will need some foot massages. Lol
Thank you Denise. Hopefully you can take a little vacation in January and make it to the show. But bring an extra empty suitcase. To me it appears the show gets larger every year. (Bring two empty suitcases). Lol
I've just found your channel. I'm a very new to the orchid world, I only have 2, a mini Phal & a large one. Watching your video was like a trip through orchid wonderland. Thanks for taking the time to show all the wonderful things. My two orchids are showing new growth, one's in full bloom, the mini was a rescue from a big box store (the only places to buy orchids in southern Nevada.) I hope to get more of these lovely flowers.
Hi Joan. Thank you for you lovely comment. The Tamiami International orchid festival is one I travel 5 hours to, and it is well worth it. (Hard on my wallet, but great for my health.) Lol. You know we all start out with a phalaenopsis. Sometimes we kill them with too much love, we over water them. Don't get discouraged if you loose one. There are many RU-vid videos with care instructions for phalaenopsis. I see more orchids in your future. 😉
Hi Leo. It was amazing how many beautiful orchids at this show. I could never get tired of them. The metal art was was very skillfully made. I really wanted to look at it a little closer, but afraid they would think I was a serious buyer. Maybe one day. Thank you for watching. Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Blanca...it looks like you were in an Orchid Paradise...I want to make it to the show the next time...love all the orchids you purchased... have a lovely week😃
It's always great to see you and Scott. Looking back at this video I say, man....there were a lot of orchids and plants I missed out on. Hopefully next year you can do the VIP.
What a great show and what a great vídeo, thank you for showing the orchids in details, by zooming and describing colours. Mentioning prices is always interesting too, to have an idea and compare. Thank you for this and I am looking forward to see you you bought😍
Thank you Fernanda. There was so much to see at this show, and everywhere you walked a new fresh fragrance to smell. Looking back at this video I say to myself: "Why didn't you get that one, and that one too?" Lol. It really was a wonderful orchid festival and only one complain. Which ofcourse it is out of their control. (My feet were hurting after miles of walking). Lol
Yes, there are many videos of this show but each one is unique. I really liked the time you took to show the plants and flowers and of course cattleays are my favorites so I was in heaven 😁 thanks for sharing! 👍for hubby too, what a good sport!
Thank you Bonnie. You know after the first night which was the VIP night my husband asked me if I did a video. I told him, "Oh no. There are many other RU-vidrs that can make some nice serious videos." He sort of talked me into recording the festival with your same words. Well I recorded alright and he had to edit my video to keep it shorter. Then he complained the whole time he removed filming that was of no interest, sadly it was interesting to me. Lol
Thank you Miche for taking the time to watch this video. I have watched my video a couple of times and say to myself, "Wow....what a pretty orchid. Why didn't I get that one?" Lol. There is just too many beautiful orchids in one place and you want to keep moving to find that special one. Have a great weekend.
Hi Blanca, I really enjoyed your video. It wasn't rushed and I felt relaxed watching it. You showed us a bit of everything and I felt like you were enjoying yourself as well. Thank you for showing us around!
Thank you Lucy for the nice comment. Now I sit back and watch the video, and I ask myself: "Now why didn't you get that orchid, or that metal art?" I need to stop watching. Lol
Blanca Acosta yes me too. But I watched several videos of this orchid show and it was nice being able to see the blooms up close and the price and I appreciate you took your time showing this to us.
Thank you friend. I know the video was long, and the orchid festival grows larger every year. There is just too many beautiful orchids and I want to share with everyone.
Hi Joanne. Thank you for watching. The orchid festival was wonderful. I know I wore the soles off my shoes. By the time the show is over you don't remember what you purchased, because you have seen so many beautiful orchids and you keep saying: "Yes, I want that one, I'll be back to get it." So it always turns out to be a surprise when you settle down to unwrap your newly purchased orchids. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Durrell. I certainly enjoyed the getting together with Blanca/Diva, Maria Young and Todd. All of them are very loving and caring friends. I do hope to go to Redland, but with a tight budget.
Ugh!!! I missed this show. It made me so sad I distracted myself with my camera and my orchid babies. I started a channel. Thank you Blanca for sharing your lovely orchids with me!!
Wow!! Happy gloria estefan closed her mouth so that I could hear you. But, oh my what a lot of footage you have!!!😆 I really enjoyed the show. Thanks for sharing and happy growing. Bedtime now!
Hi Sharon. This is Miami, Gloria Estefan land. (She owns it). No getting around her. Lol. I was hoping to run into her, but she may not be into orchids. I searched up and down, high and low for you. Were you hiding from me? I know it's a long video, and hubby had me in tears because he edited it and cut away parts with more beautiful blooms. Gone forever. I hope to meet you some day my friend.
@@SHARONSHORTOrchidsandGarden Ha ha ha... I know that's for sure honey. It is funny, but many generations ago, especially for the Northerners, you couldn't hear Gloria Estefan sing and not think Miami.
@@blancaacosta333 The new generation are a bit shallow, having something to hold on too or claiming that which is clearly not theirs...to each its own....Happy growing.
I'm a bit late writing a comment but I finally got to the end of the video today! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour around the various vendors. Thanks for giving us a true feeling of Tamiami. What a treat! Even if I can't bring anything back, I'd sure like to go, and perhaps even cross paths with you....it would be a hoot!
Thank you ResQ. A long video, but I tried to film what I found interesting and what most people would like to see. The assortment of vendors and what they are selling. It would be a real nice experience for you to visit the show some day, and catch some warm weather in January. I believe you can carry orchids on a plane with you as long as it is bare root. I was actually surprised on how many people flew in from the Caribbean to buy orchids. Possibly it is difficult for them to find orchids from Asia, and South America, and a lot of vendors don't ship to the Islands.
Wonderful show and you covered a lot, thanks. I really like your style explaining the booths and which is a good nursery. I would have bought one of those lovely anthuraum with gorgeous leaves. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to your haul video!
Thank you Mary. The video was quite a bit long. I know when I sit to watch videos, I set a limited time to relax, just too many things need attention or getting done. So thank you for taking the time to watch. Do you know how many times I have tried to kick my own butt? Lol. I don't know why I didn't buy that Anthurium. I held it long enough in my hands, like a new born baby, and I set it down, but came back to look at those dark green impressive leaves with its amazing detailed veining. It had me hypnotize. Honestly, I was a little intimidated by it. I don't have many indoor plants, and at that price I was not sure how to care for it. Now, orchids are another story. They can grow like weeds. Lol.
Hi Sunah. There were so many beautiful orchids competing with each other to get into my cart. I could hear them saying: Pick me Pick me. Lol. I hope you can make it next year.
Thank You for making us feel as if we were There ! Also nice seeing Caleb in the video (hope he returns to RU-vid soon) I too _LOVE those ruffled edge, terracotta, holey pots by Puddingstone (appreciate you showing their business card) planning on placing an order :) }{ugs from Memphis.
Thank you BBQ. I know the video was long but there was just so much to see. Those pots are very nice. I have a few myself and I can use a few more. Now I wished I would have bought one of those blown glass vases that fit snug like a puzzle piece into the driftwood. They will be good for water culture. Who knows? I may have to place an order. Hugs.......my friend.
Hi Carla. It's a long video. Are you still watching? Lol. You are very far away from the U. S., but perhaps there are nice orchid festivals in your area that can compare to this one. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for taking the time to watch this video.
Hello Breena. I did a lot of walking for three days. My feet were yelling in pain, but the orchids said: "Quit your crying and keep moving." I just simply obeyed. Lol. They hold a large International Orchid Festival in Santa Barbara CA. I believe it is in March. I don't know if that is near you.
Hi Blanca! I am re-watching and re-enjoying your videos. Can you please show the orchid cart that your hubby made for you? It is perfect! Thank you Blanca!
Hello Bianca, i do like your video coverage because you are focus on the topic itself(orchids). Other you-tubers are so boring because to the entire video all you see is their faces. i like the way you do your coverage as it has a good flow. keep it up and more power to your channel.
Thank you Ben for taking the time to watch this video. People have different ways to express themselves on videos, but I figure, who wants to look at my mug while I am surrounded by the most beautiful blooms ever that are commanding attention.
@@blancaacosta333 I have never attended, since I am new to the Orchid community. I'm looking forward to next year and hopefully I'll have the pleasure of meeting ALL of my favorite YOU TUBERS. Thanks again for this incredible video.
What a beautiful video !! Thank you so much for taking the time to film! Thank you to hubby for his patience & wow! The editing was amazing!! He got an orchid for his efforts 😃 the paph choir!! Great stuff!! Do they go on tour? 😅 again, what a spectacular video! Thank you soo much 🤗
Hi Nina. Thank you for you beautiful comment and for taking the time to watch my video. Many years ago hubby had no interest in orchids. He still says he doesn't, but I have seen him perk up when I say. "Orchid Show,,,, Road Trip..... Lets plan it!" Lol. As for the catasetum he picked out, believe me, I will be tending to that baby. Lol. Oh yes, originally the paph choir was serenading the shoppers with: 🎵 Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango. Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me Gallileo, Gallileo Gallileo, Gallileo Gallileo Figaro, magnifico........ But our RU-vid police wouldn't have it. Lol.
Thank you Vickie. It really was long. I myself doused off a couple of times. Lol. I tried to capture the prices so people can see that lots of times you end up overpaying for orchids on Ebay. (I know I have.)
Gotta jump in here early in the piece. The yellow Dendrobium you called the sample plant at the beginning is an Australian Species, Dendrobium speciosum. Very common on Oz, I even have a few myself.
Hi Lynn. That yellow dendrobium was spectacular. It was like a shower of yellow blooms. I don't see those for sale around here. They may not do well in our hot tropics.
Hello Blanca love your videos! very descriptive for sure and appreciate the walk through. Any idea where the $20 vandas name from? Do you remember the name of the vendor? Have a great one and thanks!
Hola Nancy. I certainly miss going to these International orchid shows. They really have some awesome deals. The vendor with the $20.00 vandas, I believe was "Best Of Thai". Unfortunately they are not from the United States. They ship in boxes of vandas just for the show, and they sell like hot cakes. There are a few foriegn orchid vendors at these shows. I remembered the vanda seller only took cash or currency from their own country.
At 21:19 I have the same plant but when I got it it didn’t come with a tag. I was so happy when I saw it in your video. Hope someone will recognize the orchid🙏🏼 I live in the Netherlands, we don’t have this kind of really big orchid shows here and at the moment because of COVID there are no shows☹️
👋 Hi.... Greetings from Florida. I absolutely love that orchid at 21:19. It was on display as one of the orchid society member's plant, (not for sale). However I did see it up for sale online from a vendor in the US. It is an odontoglossum and a cool grower. It would not survive in my hot tropic climate. I don't know which type you have, but check out on Google: Rossioglossum Grande, or Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester. I am sure you will be able to make an ID for your orchid. All of our orchid shows have been canceled due to the Corona virus. The orchid nurseries are open to the public with restrictions. Last weekend one orchid society put together an orchid show with about 5 or 6 vendors. It was about two hours from my house. I didn't not attend because the virus count is very high in that particular county. Thank you for watching. Please stay safe.
Well thank you Orchids and Garden. They really make it hard to decide which orchid is coming home with you. Now that I sit back and watch the video I ask myself: " Why did you leave that beauty behind?" Lol
Lovely video. I could easily watch the double time. :-)) What´s the name of the red dottet cattleya? And the yellow-pink one? Wish you could film some tags. Thanks for the businesscards you filmed. Hope they ship to Europe.
Hi Floatingflower. Thank you for watching this long video. I believe the orchid you are referring to is (red cattleya with the red dots) sold by Soroa Orchids based in Miami. I wished I would have gotten the ID. That is a beautiful orchid. I sent an email requesting the name. I know they don't sell online. The yellow cattleya with the pink lip is sold by Krull Smith Orchids. The name is: Rlc. Bill Krull 'Krull's Primavera'.
First of all I got to say Sorry. Todd straighten me out at the Tamiami show. I keep changing you name to Teddy. I guess I like that name. Lol. Terry, I hope you can make the show one day, or for a few days. You will find some of those odd or hard to find unique species you like, plus overgrown bag babies. Lol
@@blancaacosta333 Teddy is fine...i know it is You Blanca saying it hehe..but yes..those bag babies were more bag adults hehe with blooms..never saw a Digbyana or Golf Green Pig blooming in a bag..but yes i saw that Huntleya..beautiful..but i can't grow cool either so the pictures are good for me for now. But yeah i Need to get to Tamiami I will find everything on my list. Thanks for sharing your awesome video
Thank you Luis. I believe the vendor you are asking about that sold bag orchids for $20.00 US dollars is Water Orchids Nursery. They are located in Taiwan. They will be back in Florida for the Redland International Orchid Festival.
Hola Juan. Este espectáculo de orquídeas se lleva a cabo todos los años en enero. No sé si el espectáculo de orquídeas se llevará a cabo el próximo enero debido al aumento de Covid19 en Florida.
