I bought mine in 2021(brand new), I hadn't driven it. I am glad I bought it. The car is a form of therapy to drive. Manual 100hp 1.2L. The people who made this car sat down and thought about many things. My previous car was a Toyota Yaris 09. I resented my car because it lacked many things I have in the Corsa.
Vauxhall have done a lot of improvements, the trims offer value for almost everyone. I’m glad you are happy with the new Corsa. The platform is shared with Peugeot but I think it still has it’s own character. The 100bhp motor offers great performance.
Eye catching and sleek looking Corsa. Would not recognise if i didn't see the logo on the car. Touchscreen feature with voice connectivity is amazing.. 🙌
Hey Tony it’s a well designed car, in my opinion it’s the best looking Corsa. The design team have done a brilliant job. Vauxhall does share parts with the Peugeot group of which it’s part of. I imagine the touchscreen is a shared technology across the group. It’s easy to use, in the right position and clear. 👍🏻😊
had mine a week now reviewed ur video ages ago i know takes ages for new cars to be delivered! 130 ultimate auto downsized from a volvo v40 t3 auto and im telling you now im so glad i did!! the car i have has the same equipment and more than the volvo and is far more economical! i ordered in hot red like the car in the video but has leather and alcantera seats and so many add ons is a great small car!! Twin tail pipes on the 130 !
Oh yes I do remember we spoke a while back alun. You’ve gone for a high spec and more powerful unit that’s great. The car should have some good performance. It’s very interesting that a Vauxhall can have just as much equipment as a Volvo. I love leather/alcantara combination. Enjoy your new motor alun.
Your most welcome, I’m happy the video bought you value. I personally asked a Vauxhall dealer for you. Unfortunately they said the new Corsa comes with a USB and 12v socket port only. You will have to buy an adapter. I’m quite certain older corsa’s will still have the aux input.
@@Mr-M-on-motors i am facing the same dreaded dilema. Got to sell my 19 plate B9 a4 diesel and will now have to slum it in one of these. Looking at it as it seems the best blend of extras and barely tolerable performance. Prices are a joke fuel plus used prices. I ran an astra k 1.4 turbo 150ps alongside my a4 for 2 years sold it late in 2021, those good days are long behind me im broke!
If I catch the train more to work I wont feel the loss as much its a shock downsizing from a solid stable saloon only 3 years old with an almost perfect interior,l quakity wise. The corsa can be a station car and a local runabout. I have a thing about being in current gen shapes and while astra k 1.6 turbos are out there on the secondhand market every time I see the new L shape which looks drastically different id be angry at myself. Plus i cant go back to those candle bulbs alongside white daytime running lights. These little corsas in this elite premium spec look on point and loaded with useful features too. Shame the 130bhp isnt in a manual.
The A4 you have is relatively new. This new Corsa has decent trim packages depending how much you want to spend. Regarding performance I read in a comment on this video that the 130 bhp variant was a beast at least for a sub compact car. In most cases it is enough power for the slow speed traffic, we experience in towns and motorways.
I must admit down sizing from a premium car like the A4, which is a great all round well built vehicle can be hard. That said this new Corsa offers some great equipment and if you only use it for town or/and suburban driving it’s great. I love car design architecture, it’s one of the reason I got into cars. The change in design from one generation to the next shows the creativity we have. Definitely have a test drive of the new corsa.
These small cars have developed quite abit, the turbo’s really make a difference. That’s right you can drive the car relaxed or with more excitement with the driving modes.
I had my Corsa Ultimate manual in September new and 73 plate. There are a few things I'm not too keen on. Firstly there is only one USB and secondly no courtesy light for the rear seat passengers. Yes, It's a nippy car though the interior I think is a bit too plastic for my liking. Still, it is as it is. Great video though but on reflection I think a 208 would may have been a better option. 😊
Sorry for the delayed reply, thank you for the comment and real life user experience on the new Corsa. It’s those small details you mentioned which should come standard. When you look at the money one spends, one expects more. Saying that I do think this is the best Corsa overall. I liked the drive and power is decent. I do need to source a 208 for a comparison review. They both share the same platform, so the driving experience should be interesting. Thank you again for your comment and sharing your thoughts on the new Corsa.
Vauxhall and Ford have always been the classic first car for new drivers. The Corsa has a small engine but quick with the turbo unit. which will be good for tax and insurance. Have a look at insurance and tax for both cars. Kia are making some lovely cars recently and they come with that 7 year warranty. Take your time and compare them. Good luck with your search 👍🏻😊
It is a smart car. I know it has a lot in common with the Peugeot 208 but I think it has it’s own characteristics. There is no way to turn it off. Sorry for the delay in replying.
Yes I believe you do have a space saver wheel with the Corsa although some are coming with these compression kits. Make sure you look under the boot floor. I have also seen these wheel sold on eBay starting at £15
bro my mum really wants this coulor because she is getting it on saturday and nobody exept from me and her bother she didnt tell my dad or sister and she didnt tell me either but she told be to look for a picture and a saw the car with a sold sign and it said her name if that didnt happen she wouldnt have told me but she doesnt care anyways do you guys this what colour of this car should my mum get red or grey please be quick guys it should come in 3 days
Hello aaron oh cool, that’s a nice high spec one. Really I think dealers are really struggling to get new cars. The wait will be worth it. Did you go for the 100 bhp unit?
@@Mr-M-on-motors Appreciate you doing reviews really helpful passed my test 4 years ago and always had a Vauxhall as learnt to drive in one keep up the good work
Thank you Aaron for you comment, I’m glad the review helped you out. My aim is to review more cars. I also learnt to drive in a Corsa they are great little cars. This new model has improved even more. Thank you for you feedback. 😃
Got one today half the price there worth as a neighbour is moving out of UK. Got myself a 21 plate and there pretty nice and smooth. However shit electronics. Crap dashboard . Screen slow and laggy when turns on. Bluetooth never connects automatically for me. Done 30 miles in the city and I’m averaging 22 mpg in the automatic version.
Oh nice, you saved yourself a lot of money. Yeah plastics are made on a budget. Oh screen sensitivity was fine on the test drive I did. No to bad milage if you can get near 30 mpg it’s a good result. Overall it’s a nice nippy little car. You got a bargain.
Oh yes size wise it is more practical. I thinks it depend what you need the car for. If you have a family the Astra is better especially with the bigger boot space.
This model has a more rounded design I think this Corsa came out before the new shape design from the Astra and Mokka. I think the next Corsa could have the similar design. Although a lot of people also like this design. It’s a hard one for designers.
See a raelly good car there mate u do a raelly good job on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate
I hope the 1.5l diesel is a lot better than the previous 1.3l fiat engine with the terrible tranmission gearbox that fails. I'm sure the 1.5l is a Renault diesel engine so it has to be good. Opel, vauxhall do not make their own diesel engines.
If I get a chance I will try and test drive a diesel. Let’s hope those gearbox gremlins are gone. Your most likely right I know the Renault Clio had a good diesel.
Mercedes use the same engine in the A class im assuming as the French have been diesel fans for longer than us brits it must be a good unit!! will say tho in the merc you can have top spec and an auto!! if that option was on the corsa thats what i would have had!! those fuel and emissions figures are pretty bloody good!!
Theses days seems engines are of good standard in general. When I had the Alfa Romeo Giulietta the Diesel engine I heard was off the Fiat bravo but with a better turbo and more torque. They always have to tweak the engine for the character of each car.
@@Mr-M-on-motors No I didn't but honestly I am coming out of a renault zoe and although performance wasn't bad it didn't go over 87mph and the ride felt like an egg box sellotaped to a roller skate, so I'm hoping the corsa handles better. I don't often go on long journeys so intense motorway driving won't be something I have to contend with often.
seats right back are only good for baby chairs or amputees!! im not tall but wouldnt be space for an adult behind my driving position ! am fotunate i very rarely need to carry passengers!!
Yes a lot of these subcompact cars suffer in rear room although they are getting better. I think I mention in the video there might be need for negotiations between driver and rear passenger. All is good only for short journeys.
This is a very valid point ive noticed in some brands the next gen shapes like this and the astra in the class above actually sacrifice space compared to say the astra k or the ancient corsa before. This is a trend with many. I think they think its not as much of an issue with the xover market booming so they make less effort with rear space and more effort with perceived quality and safety with the small hatches now.
The inside is the best interior of all Corsa generations. They have gone for simple design lines compared to previous gens which had sharper lines. It is definitely plainer than the Peugeot 206. Thanks for you opinion much appreciated.
You are right I should of taken it off. All to do the the Covid rules that’s why it was on. Thank you for you feedback. I’m glad you liked the review. 👍🏻😊
It’s basically a Peugeot 208, but not as good, and why has it only got 100 bhp.? Iv got a 208 gtline and she’s putting out 160 bhp and 220 ibft. Not worth the money, I’d buy a new 208 instead.👍
Yes the PSA group which is now Stellantis have many cars under the same platform. Oh cool 160bhp is alot especially with a turbo and on these small chassis’s . It’s good to hear your insights. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 👍🏻😊
@@Mr-M-on-motors kristian is right what he says but no factory model pulls 160bhp to do that is been worked on by tuning specialists ! the best u get standard is 130 bhp and comes with an auto box !! if u up tune and it goes a bollock in the warranty ur knackered!! i did it with a golf many years ago !! never again
Sorry late reply I’m in Italy not great connection where I am. I had a look on the Peugeot website and I could only find max the 130 bhp 208. I think any mod’s should be done on older cars like you said sometimes the warranty could be invalid should something happen. I think choosing a car has also to do with what brand you like, even if many cars now share the some platform.
Yes John 100% since the merger, lots of parts, technology, chassis’s have been used across the brands. Recently the FCA group have merged in too. It seems all the brand are becoming one group, like the VW group which has lots of makes
Thank you for your comment, I didn’t notice any glitches on the dash when I test drove the car. The turbo should have helped climb the hill. Your feedback is very useful for long term ownership.
When I took the car to the garage because the Stop start didn’t function I was told if the battery charge falls below 80% it doesn’t work check the price of a new battery . The Language on screen switches on its own accord
I presume you bought the car new from Vauxhall. I had similar issue with the start stop with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. I’m not sure if mine was battery related. At times it would stop working. In the end I disabled it, it became annoying. That screen language switch shouldn’t happen. If the car is under warranty the dealership should look into it.
