20201003 Why Upgrade to Performance Monitor 5 (PM5) for Concept 2 Rower 

It's basically a no brainer upgrade.
Over the previous PM3 or earlier displays this adds two very useful additions namely
a) ANT+
b) Bluetooth
You can connect your Heartrate monitor (ANT+ or Bluetooth) therefore to the rower and have your heart rate displayed as a field whilst you row
Further you may run the ErgData Smartphone app and connect to the Rower via Bluetooth. At the end of a session the row data is then on the press of a Send button sent from the Smartphone upto the Concept 2 cloud log. And from there you can select auto upload for example to Strava.
The cost of the PM5 upgrade is about 160 GBP including postage and it came with the unit and a new arm.
Installation took about 10 minutes!
This upgrade is only possible thanks to the superb modular design of the rower. A design that is now over a decade old, but personally this is still a tremendous rowing machine compared to others on the market.
