Pietro at Aston Martin Mayfair saw my video of the Vanquish and thought I might like to borrow Aston Martin's current flagship model - the awesome DBS Superleggera to run a comparison. Thanks Pietro! And what a car, the performance is eye popping, never have I arrived anywhere quite as fast as I did in this rocket ship I nicknamed 'The Storm Trooper'. A civilised, super comfortable GT that turns into a complete hooligan at the touch of a button. I loved it. Would I have one instead of my 2016 Vanquish - now there's a question..

Nice video! Thanks for sharing the experience. I think the car looks amazing from the outside. For me, the Vanquish would be the choice: because of the sound and the „pure“ AM Heritage. For a long drive with wife and my three year old doughter.. which car would you suggest to take? Best regards!

Thanks Christian. You know I haven't tested my 3 year old and wife together in either of the cars but I suspect there's enough room for a good road trip. The DBS has the advantage of Isofix of course.

Me too. Nearly half the price and better sound.. no doubt the DBS is the more modern car.. but better? I think the vanquish is a classic already

Excellent and informative video. Clarkson said driving the DBS in GT mode was like riding on a hovercraft it was so smooth. In your opinion, which is the more complaint, the DBS shown here or your Vanquish? N.B. I realized afterwards I should have made it clear Clarkson was driving the most recent DBS Superleggara.

Great question - both the Vanquish 2 and DBS SL have been lauded for their suspension set ups and they are both very comfortable in non sport mode, even on the country roads around me.

Another great review. I find that the 360 degrees camera helps a lot. Placing that long bonnet in tight garages can be a pain. Do you think the Vanquish suffers too much from not having front cameras?

Thanks Thiago. DBS parking camera has that very clever helicopter view too that helps a a lot and I wish the Vanquish had that system. Front cameras would be very helpful.

I love the Exterior Designs from Aston Martin but unfortunately I hate the Interior Designs, thanks for the video.

Interesting point, I tend to agree that the interiors do lag behind the exteriors design wise.

@@RossOnCars yes unfortunately, maybe Aston needs a new Interior designer team and the newest Infotainment and security systems because they wan´t a lot of money for the cars.

Brilliant video and a beautiful car. I'm looking at an Aston for my next car and this was on the list but after hearing the NA 6L V12 I've fallen in love with it. The list then went down to DBS, Vanquish S or V12VS. I've kind of removed the V12VS as I don't think it is necessarily in line with Astons history of big front engined GT's. I can't choose between the DBS or Vanquish S, I think if I went the DBS route it would certainly have to be the manual. Have you any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks so much. Well now, there's a choice! For me, I'd go DBS auto as it's the more modern car and I don't really love the extra design flourishes they added to the Vanquish S. You'd be very happy with either I'm sure though, down to personal taste. Important to do quite a bit of test driving in both if you can.

@@RossOnCars You understand my predicament 😂 I've got a feeling a deciding factor will be interior room, I'm 6'4 so not quite as tall as yourself but I do struggle in a lot of cars to get comfortable

@@graygamingps4503 which did you go for - I'm thinking of a vanquish s as its the last na engine and id buy one and keep it for my sons...Ive got a very new taycan turbo s so have all the performance I need with all the tech, the vanquish would be summer only and garaged with v low miles being put on it. It's the drama the vanquish brings I think will be missed in the future. But im increasingly wondering of I should consider the new dbs, as they've depreciated heavily ?

How do you find cabin space and transmission "feel" vs your vanquish?

The transmission felt like a more racing version of mine - power more immediate too, thanks also to all that torque available from1800 revs. The cabin slightly bigger if anything. Overall feel was that the DBS feels more technical if that makes sense - a weapon. Vanquish more traditional GT.

I know what you mean, but I wouldn't say hideous exactly. The Vanquish is still the best looker by far for me - it has a lovely rear end. I feel they messed it up with the S though - adding that diffuser.

Well Leslie, my apologies - I’ll doubel check my information is correct. The Aston Martin winged badge is not universally recognised, apart from by proper petrol heads of course, the world over, of which you are clearly one 🙏

I don't think he was trying to be cocky, he said as far as he understands. Logically however, I'd put money on Aston Martin being more recognsied in Europe and the US than in China by a long way
