@@importanttingwei7747 Despite the fact that the trans can handle the engine's torque and power, it doesn't mean it (let alone the rest of the fine-tuned drivetrain) could handle the long-term stress and heat of pulling a trailer.
I've already shared it with a VW / Audi hater as the car I'll buy after winning a crap load of money. His reply was "one each?"... Can't expect better than that from a hater 😁
If you can go technical all the way, it will be outstanding. Because there are tons of reviews out there. I think you are about to find a good spot that we needed 👍🏽
So many boring reviews out there from jabroni's doing the same review over and over. This was way better. We all know a 2021 RS7 is going to be fast and fun, it's a given. You could go even deeper into the tech.
I really appreciate seeing your (a tech) point of view doing a review. I lived that you out it on a lift and started taking things off. And the in depth explanations of how the tech works is great. I hope you get to do more of these. I think you are a great asset for VAG to utilize to reach a group of enthusiasts who might not tune in to a glossy review.
I love how infectious you are with your explanation of what the car can do and your NERD excitement with the technology! I’m happy I found your channel.
I love your videos, the way you speak to people, not at them, and correctly assume a small degree of competence from the viewer. Thanks for your effort, it is appreciated.
I've had my RS7 for 6 months and has had zero issues. It's definitely the best of both performance and luxury. The technology is amazing and Dynamic mode makes a huge difference in handling. Best car I've ever owned. Great review!
Great video Charles. Thanks for stepping outside the box and introducing us to something a little diff. Big ups to that Audi dealer for letting you have it. That’s how u market/ sell cars. Looking forward to more stuff like this in the future. 👍👍👍
Great review with it's own value and perspective! Keep it up! About the transmission I think DSG is over for powerful cars. The 8 speed torque converter ZF seems to be just as good without the issues with the friction based clutches and this amount of power...
The ZF is an awesome transmission, I still prefer a Dct, but I think the ZF feels more like a Dct than your traditional run of the mill torque converter autos. The fact that you can get a tune for the ZF that allows the launch control to go up to 4k rpm, the really quick up/down shifts, and how quickly it locks up really helps a lot. I drive the 971 Panamera Turbo and C8 RS7 (Also a Cayenne GTS with the ZF8 and while I liked the PDK in the Panamera the best, I was very happy with the Audi and the Cayennes ZF trans. I thought the tuning for the transmission was better in the Cayenne than the RS7 and I think a trans tune would help the RS7 a lot.
Yeah man more videos like this! It's fun seeing a review from a mechanic point of view. And I loved that you plugged in VCDS! All those modules....sheesh.
Well humbleMechanic i am a certified audi sport mechanic from the Netherlands and i have driven the audi SQ7 ( even changed the cams ) and its a beast 900nm from 1250 rpm 👌👌
Fantastic video. Great review on a great car. The RS7 is the best AUdi ever. Gorgeous design, Fast, powerful, confortable, can seat 5 people, has a decent trunk and can hold its own again many super cars 3 times its price. Well done AUDI
I definitely love this car and want to get into one soon. Right now I drive an 2019 RS5 Sportback, fully loaded. I can't imagine a RS7. Great video, and the tires on this RS7 is sick. The car is COLD!!!
This is a great change of pace without regurgitating the same mundane care review! Definitely digging it! Would not mind more of these videos in addition to your already awesome channel. Team up with Paul some fun reviews as well! Don't know what I would do without your channel--I'm very appreciative!
Interesting video, thank you! Would love to see your thoughts on the e-tron GT and GT RS as well, to me it seems they share a lot of tech with this RS7.
Some manufacturers are sensibly backpedaling on the" all screen - no buttons" thing for the most common used functions... One grab or push is better than 10 tries in the blind ...
Yes do more! I think you should start with the S5 next. Something closer to my budget. And yes, nerd out all you want to with VCDS. Tear into these cars as much as possibly allowed.
Always interesting to learn about something new with you, rather than learning about something old. Would love to see 'Charles explains new SSPs (ID4!).'
Awesome video Charles, never expected to get a RS7 review from your channel. My rich buddy test drove a '19 RS7 but went with the Merc E63 wagon, as an Audi guy I would have taken the RS7 over the Merc since the RS6 wasn't available yet, which car would you have taken if you were spending his money? My daily is a '17 Audi Allroad that's out of warrantee and ready for some modification. Any suggestions on what you would modify on a stock Allroad?
Nice work, can you do a comparison of the old Audi 4.0tt v8 vs this new gen Porsche derived 4.0tt v8? Interested to see your thoughts on what’s a better designed lump and ease of service
An honest opinion based on the tech and features that makes it special is better (in my opinion) than any of the online reviews. People tend to post reviews based on the manufacturers wishes and are biased as its sponsored however bypassing that and going on impressive features can give a better kind of review. I have gone on test drives with some vehicles and read reviews that all had phenomenal reviews yet when i got it hands on and detailed it you notice so many corners that were cut and the fit and finish does not stand up and shockingly you notice some of the things you over looked by the new car excitement
My biggest issue with car reviews are they feel like just reading a press release. To me there is so much cooler stuff on the car. Lol On the way down to ATL we listen to most the RS7 videos. And not one mention of 48v systems
I know you had a great time at the Tail, I know I did! Enjoy the ICE before it melts and we all drive toasters. The CarPlay glitches are the same in the 991.2, seems a shared issue.
Do you know anything about the RS3? Thinking about getting one and you know every issue with every German car. Wondering what the issues are I should look out for
Good video, I like the review, this car is crazy$ and I like to think who has the balls to own this out of warranty……8 million modules to get confused with one another. Christmas lights are the best but not on the dash. Good work Charles
I would be excited as you if I were a mechanic. This thing will be a nightmare to own once it ages and is out of warranty. A wet dream for repair shops. Now what would have been neat to see in this video are some parts costs. Let’s start with that battery. The 48 volt lithium. I am a less is more kind of guy. Having said all that, appreciate the technicality of the video.
What Audi should have said was, Charles please don’t take our car apart to see how it works 🤣 awesome car alas outside my pay check and here in the UK I’d need a loan just to refuel it.
Cool video man, wish I could lease one to beat up for a couple years. Lol Any problems with start/stop wearing out the starter? Not specific to this video and vehicle but I've always wondered what VW "people" thought about it or had experience with it.
I like this style of car review. It lets me know that between the $5900 brake rotor and lack of spare tire; the design intent for this vehicle is not as a daily driver but, instead as a track orientated vehicle. If I lived in close proximity to a track where I could easily take it for a spin(like The Nürburgring) then this would be a fun vehicle choice.
You should get the new GT4RS...basically a Golf R. Maybe the new GT3,*8 same thing. Or the R-8, essentially a VW Passat. How about the STO or the Urus. Practically that's just a Golf and an Atlas at like Jedi status. Audi and VW should hook you up with those cars in my opinion. You see things as a mechanic sees them....'Holy Hell that'll cost a fortune to fix!' and 'Well that's the fun button!' And that's what we appreciate.
I’ll approve All those things. Hahah one time I really made a Ferrari owner made. When I told him the Jetta uses the same connector bank. Oh he was very mad.
The hybrid drive system similar to the Nissan Altima and the old Chevy Tahoe/Cadillac Escalade hybrid. I just see expensive pain with this Audi. Never been a fan of "hot V" turbo systems on gas engines. Oh the repair bills!
