Thats exactly why I made this video. I forgot to mention that I got my money back from WIsh.com Just send them some photos and explain them that your bearings are fake. They gave me my money back after a few hours of submitting my ticket, give it a try :)
@@technolange651 its always worth a try to get your money back, even if you have already used them :) In the worst case you wont lose anything from trying (except a little bit of time)
@@maximeyer2532 I got my money back! The seller was very nice about it. As you say, always worth trying. Thanks again for the video. Have subbed and will share it with my fellow skaters. :)
Did you... really not do the speed test on them? I mean, does it really matter if they're original or not, if the quality is same? So what was so hard on doing the quality test and showing the insides of the bearings aka *the actual difference between original and fake?*
maybe you dont realize, that fake bones is not bones by definition. I know good China copies, where they copy quality product, but in this case they never mimic and fake brand, they go under own. I know no good copies, where they fake brand/look and can match quality. No large factory will risk doing it, fakes are done by some Uncle Lao street workshop.
@@HECKAKYH-ADEKBATEH мейби ю донт риалайз, that it doesn't matter what and how is printed on the paper. If I'm buying a set of bearings - I'm gonna use the BEARINGS, and a review of the bearings themselves is needed to show on practice why one should be aware of fake ones. If the difference is insignificant - why not to get fake ones? And how can I know the difference if our genius didn't do ANY speed test whatsoever? And like it's not bad enough, the video is called "Bearings Real vs Fake Comparasion", BUT THERE IS NO BEARING COMPARASION
@@weltrepublik keine Ahnung warum Du es nicht begreifst, aber ищ ферзухе ес нох айн маль - вере из но фейк, зат костс ловер тен оригинал, mimics the original and is as good as original. For example, there is a good copy of AKG M200, which wird unter der Bezeichnung Superlux HD681 verkauft und outmatches the original in price and sound quality, although not in durability. But it даз но трай ту селл итселф аз AKG. It has to do with production costs, big facilities do not want to risk close downs due to copy-cating in China, this is why they never sell their clones as original. Das gleiche trifft auch auf Lager zu, man kann bei diesen Preisen nicht die entsprechende Materialqualität liefern and when you pay you will essentially support appearance of even more fakes. I have no problem, if China manufacturers sell their bearings and compete under own (quality) brand. Wenn Du gute Stahlager suchst, empfehle ich NTN LLB, NSK VV or SKF RZ instead of fake Bones. They will last remarkably long plus you will not be supporting fake makers making even more similarly named fakes. But if you like fast and easy rolling like myself, I would go to afforable high-end hybrid ceramics, myself using Amphetamine brand, which is around €45 for Silicone Nitride balls instead of Bones, which themself are 1.5 harder than steel balls and much more uniform. They have other problem though, like degrading race tracks - not the balls themself, so those will need replacement over time. Bones is officially selling in USA only, which makes their price/performance not very attractive.
Let me just clear this up real quick, because I didn't post the review video. The fake bearings broke after 2 weeks of skating every day. Sure they look OK on the first glance but that's all, durability is absolutely horrible. Even the shitties bones reds will last way longer than that.
Thats great to hear :D Here in the EU we have to pay €100 which would be $120 at the conversion rate of today! Consider yourself lucky my friend from across the pond :D
great video! I watched it about a year ago when I bought my swiss bearings for 15€ on Ali Express and determined they were fake. But I would like to add that I have been skating them for more than a year now and they still hold up pretty well. So in conclusion they are pretty decent for the price and for the record most good bearings are made in China with the benefit of cheaper production.
Nice video, I also bought my swiss bearings on Ali Express, they where so cheap that I knew it should be fake, they work just fine so far. A real swiss bearings here in Brazil costs around 200 dollars, so I think I will keep using the fake ones.
Thanks for the video. I just purchased some bones bearings from Amazon, because the manufacturer/distributors seem to always be out of stock. I will make the comparison to determine if my bearings are fake/real, once I receive my bearings.
I wish you the best of luck kind sir! If there is any doubt, do not hesitate to contact the seller and explain the situation and include some fotos or send them this video. I got my money back from Wish.com and could keep the fake bearings.
also on the fake ones you CAN tell the difference of the ball retainers. The back of the fake one's edges are rougher while the real one is kinda grooved in
thanks for the additional input, I wasn't sure if people would be able to notice this small detail if they only have one fake at home. Also I noticed that the gap between the inner ring of the bearing and the nylon cage is a bit wider on the fake one. Take care :)
I think I might have just been saved from doing the exact same thing. someone on Marketplace is selling eight for $20. I asked him about the authenticity and he said he wasn't sure because he bought them from a liquidation center. that's probably a bad enough sign right there, LOL
I am from Slovakia and I just ordered Bones Super Reds from a seller here I paid a full price for them and I am praying to god they will be original. It really pisses me off that China keeps getting away with this.
I wish you the best of luck my friend :) Dont hate the game, hate the player. Fake bearings review incoming soon. Let me just spoiler one small fact, they didnt last long at all :S
@@maximeyer2532 Thanks man. Jeez they broke already? Man that sucks proper scam this. I personally think this is Bones responsibility to deal with it as a company and since you cannot stop fake products being produced in China because their goverment is in on it Bones should make an option on their website where one could type in serial number of a product they bought at the very least for their top products and check if the product is original...
Hahaha I hope you realize bones reds are all made in China in the first place. Because bones can't produce anything themselves without China. Hope the irony isn't lost on you. The ones selling "fake" bones and real ones are coming from the same factories 💯%
Thanks a lot for your reply. I gave it my best to present the most accurate way to tell them apart. Will post the review soon :) Sorry for letting you all wait so long for it
after seeing this i'm pretty sure my reds are definitely not fake,BUT i am intrigued that someone went out of their way to make fake bearings so indistinguishable to a casual customer.
why do you think so? I have multiple sets of reds, and one of them have shields falling out, they're NOT rubber. Other set is fine. I've forgotten where I got them since I bought them from different places but both were supposed to be 100% legit shops.
@@maximeyer2532 I had the same and I actually thought they were real?.. I asked the seller to refund and I give his fake bearings back and he gave my money back and he said I can keep the money and the bearings wait what? what should I do?
Just buy from a trusted retailer or your local skateshop. If the tips from the video aren't helping you I dont know how to identify them either, because I never had bones reds ceramic.
@@maximeyer2532 I have sent a mail to bones and see i they can help me verify it,or maybe someone else here that knows. Thanks anyway for your reply 🙏🙂🤘
I think you mean the Bones Big Balls with 6 balls right? They tend to accelerate slower wh3n pushing from a full stop but hold speed better with a higher end velocity. I can recommend them for downhill and transition skating, not so much for just slow flatground skating. Make sure to use the correct spacers with them for optimal efficiency. Gonna make a video about it soon 🤪
That's correct. I can only advise everyone to buy bearings at your local skateshop or an online skate warehouse that you trust. Do not trust any "deals" from non verified sellers.
The sad thing is that even the originals lost alot of quality over the years. The last 2 sets that I bought only lasted me 2 month each. I switched to Bronson Ceramics which are BY FAR better than Swiss Bones
1)Shaman Elite 6ix Ceramic + Black Titanium bearing 2) BONES® SWISS CERAMIC BEARING 3) BIONIC CERAMIC BEARINGS Which of them is the fastest bearing and has more spinning time ??
This Chinese counterfeit scam is likely the main reason Bones bearings are so expensive now. Swiss bearings were only $20 back in the 80s and late 90s ! Believe it or not the series 3 mini logo bearings (made by Powell) are faster than regular Reds & Super Reds. Plus they're only $10.50 a pack! I've bought 7 packs of them from Skate 1 , and put them on all my setups. They hold up very well ! I've been skating since 1985 and I'd never pay more than $20 for bearings
We are testing my three pairs as we speak. I will make a new video about them once we are done testing. So far they are not bad, however they are definitely not the product that was advertised.
how would you want the video to be instead? If the box is already faked, why would they contain original bearings? Do you want to see a real riding experience comparison? The fake ones all broke after two weeks of skating :(
That is the safest way for sure. Also its good to support your local skate community by purchasing at the skateshop in your neighbourhood. People living in the countryside, might not have one available locally. That's why I thought skaters might find this information to be useful to them
i bought them for less than 10€ XD when i was 16, i bought the originals for way too much money. tbh, for most people, good industrial bearings are the best choice.
Buying from a skate shop doesn't mean shit. Someone can buy the fake ones and return them to the skate store and the worker won't know the difference... Fakes get mixed in everywhere even the sellers don't know anymore
I have never been sold fakes from real online skate warehouses or local skate shops. only when using some sites like eBay, amazon, wish or other services where a user can just sell whatever they want.
yes, true. I also got baited but thought it was "too good of a deal" that's why I wanted to test them. Well I got my money back and we are testing the three pairs right now as we speak. New video incoming about them in the future :)
I wish you actually tested the 'fakes' and see how they perform- and how close to the real ones they are . INCLUDING LOOKING UNDERNEATH THE RUBBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats what i thought. Its more of design in santa barbara made in china. Just that the brand owner doesn’t want to reveal it. Just like decks. After the community knows about this, then only they labelled it as price point decks
I can't confirm this information but I can assure you that all the fake bearings broke after two weeks of skating them. I never thad that problem with bearings bought from a local skateshop or online warehouses that I trust. You don't have to trust me but if you want to take the risk then go for it. I am just sharing my experience
@@azrulhafriz3477 Red/Super Reds are made in China but under Bones supervision. Just because something is made in the same factory even doesn't mean it will come out the same. There are wheels poured in the same factory that come out drastically different than each other.... But in ref to this video, "Swiss" bearings are not all made in Switzerland BUT Bones Swiss are actually made in Switzerland, not China.
