Buick has done a great job on the Envision, they have upped their game. The exterior design of the Buick’s are stunning, and their interior is beautiful, Buick is doing an awesome job with their vehicles. Buick has a high percentage of young buyers. Great review guys!
overall a very good package from GM and great review by Drew and Mason this should appeal to Buicks older audience as well as hopefully younger buyers it's a decent value and GM has improved technolgy greatly
I hope Buick will add power fold mirrors, fog lights, driver seat exit/entry system, and power tilt/ telescope steering wheel which is available on other compact SUVs (Lexus NX) and GM has the parts available. Yes, very handsome car. But, this is not the best choice as a family SUV. Excellent for we older drivers who want a nicer car, but don’t need the passenger and cargo hauling.
Finally got to see this car in person. I could tell you how beautiful it is was really considering in getting it but man that trunk space is so small it’s unbelievable.
Great Review Guys. I think this redesign is much better looking that the 1st gen. I also feel like 46k will actually end up around 38k or less especially if you wait until close to the end of the model year.
@@midnight4109 the 2021 Envision 2.0T is down to $26K on autotrader. Thats why I say it competes with Japanese economy suvs on price and wins. The Avenir trim starts at $36K too.
Drew you scared me at the end, that ice is no joke! Trust me I've fallen too many times. For you Mason, your brief blooper came @14:22 😄 Buick did their thing on the redesign and the interior looks quite elegant.
Been awhile since I thought much about Buicks - but this is a nice one that could possibly sell pretty well. The outside temp reading was 25 degrees - yikes! Great review - I too enjoyed the blooper, thanks!
My wife and I test drove this car. Very nice. With the discounts that GM offers, this is a good value. However for our needs, it was just a hair too big.
@@normt430 right. We also test drove a 2021 Encore GX. I get the GM supplier discount and could have gotten a fully loaded GX for 24k after all the discounts. Unfortunately, it was surprisingly noisy on the hwy, the seats were small and rock hard and the one we drove had a slight vibration at speeds over 70mph. I had to walk away.
@@artagain8977 I'm surprised that it was noisy at hwy speeds too! I heard the reviewers say the 3-cylinder is bit noisy under load and some actually said it sounded like a good growl. What do you think the source of the noise was coming from as Buick is usually very quiet compared to economy Japanese brands? Is the Encore too small? We had a 2013 Encore on 2-year lease and nick named it "Squirt" for it's ability fit into any parking spot quickly and on the first try. Now my inlaws and Aunt each have a Encore. The 2021 Envision's are down to $29K on Autotrader in Ohio, Encore GX are as low as $19K, and Encore $15K. There is usually a couple of grand leeway for your trade-in and if you have a current GM lease usually $1,500 extra for returning.
@@normt430 yes, I was truly surprised at the noise level it being a Buick. I had high hopes for that car. The dealer said it may have been since the car was sitting on the lot for a few weeks but I highly doubt that as the cause. Otherwise, it was nice. The fit and finish was good. We liked the style and it was roomy. We’re empty nesters now so we don’t need a huge vehicle. I already have a GMC Sierra so we’re good on that front. After test driving several other vehicles we decided on the MB GLA 250. More than I wanted to spend but a huge difference in ride and comfort.
@@artagain8977 we have had MB in the past too! Pricey but very nice! Buick and their discounting offers much more for less. Though there are sacrifices the residual value and trade-in is amongst thr best.
@@eleanormassaro5195 The Buick Envision 2.0T is putting down a faster 27.5s figure-8 time vs 2019 CX-5 2.5T and 2019 RDX 2.0T at 27.7 in Motor Trend testing. That continues in an Emergency Lane test by Consumer Reports that has the Envision 2.0T doing 55.5 mph while the CX-5(non-turbo) did 54 mph and the RDX 2.0T can only go 52.5 mph. For 2019 Envision 2.0T gets a new 9-speed and 295 lb-ft of torque, 316 lb-ft of torque on overboost. Many cars in this class cost more and give you much less! GLC, X3, Q5...I love the RDX but that touchpad is nowhere near as easy to use as the Avenir’s giant 10.2” HD touch pad angled towards the driver! The RDX’s rear camera and display are not HD, a reason I didn’t buy it. The Avenir, which is French for Future, gives you a head up display, wireless charging for phone, remote vehicle start so the car will be cool or warm when you enter, the most tech I’ve seen at this price level including adaptive cruise control. What’s more, seat heaters front and rear, seat cooling up front with quilted perforated leather, massage driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, kick to the open the rear hatch, Wireless Apple Car Play and Android, Bose 9 speaker system, air ionizer, All LEDs lights, HD surround (birds eye view), panoramic moonroof, rear seat reminder, body colored moldings, cap less fuel filler and more all for $47k MSRP. The only concern I have is resale value...so this may be the first car I ever leased and I can give it back or buy it in three years when the warranty is up. I heard a little larger model is coming next year (GX) will have the same wheelbase but a little longer with larger rear cargo room. I’m strongly considering this current one for its compact size.
the buick envision avenir is a very great car and i am actually considering it myself, but i tend to park on busy streets a lot and would like to see power folding mirrors on the higher trims like most of its competition, such as the volvo xc60 & the mazda cx-5.
Mazda maybe but Lexus not right now at least If you’re going for a Lexus you may as well get the Toyota. The Toyota corollary to the Lexus is honestly nicer and more modern
You are missing out! Another crowded segment, the Buick Envision went home with the award in the Compact SUV category. The model received highest marks in all ratings except for features & accessories quality - mechanical and design. @@CarConfections Cool. Hopefully they improve their seats. Other cars in this price group have much much nicer driver's and passenger seats. They should also have an Aviner ELITE model, with very premium and pricey options available ONLY on the ELITE model and ONLY after you get the Avenir Technology package. There should also be a rollup shades option for passenger in the second and 3rd rows.
I find it interesting in the redesign on the top level version they no longer have the temperature controls for the rear seat. They don't have the rear tilt function for the rear seat either. It seems to lack a number of features from the previous version top of the line Premium II. I have the 2018 with all those features - this lacks all of them. Maybe I only have the six speed AWD automatic and I don't get the new interior, but without all those features is this really worth it? Worse, I heard 2021 is the last year for the Ionizer before GM takes that away as well. It seems they are making the car less luxurious in this generation, not more as Avenir is supposed to do.
I've heard really mixed reviews about how quiet/noisy the Avenir is. I'm surprised to hear you say this is on par with German rivals. Are your decibel ratings done on the same road surface at the same location to eliminate external variables?
Buick Envision S VS Volkswagen Tiguan L I am currently working in China and I want to buy a car. Which car is better between the two? I'm thinking about it. Both models are gasoline. The price of the car is similar. The ‘Envision S’ I'm trying to buy is not the top version, so the interior is just black. The bright color is so pretty ㅠㅠ I am short of money. And fuel efficiency is not very good. ‘Tiguan’ has a good car, but Volkswagen is said to have turned the invisible parts into cheap ones to make up for the big losses it incurred last time. The interior Envision is stylish and the Tiguan feels neat and well organized. I think they are both pretty. Please give me some advice~~^_____^;;

These fake exhaust on cars are getting worse and worse. It doesnt have to be a sports car to have the exhaust visible. It would be better if they just put reflectors there.
Unfortunately this is a made in China car for China. They have to sell some in USA or Chinese customers would lose interest. I made the mistake of buying one. I should have known 0% financing was offered for a reason, when other companies were bleeding buyers for dollars. I have had 5 trips to dealer in 6 months of ownership, especially tech issues. Nothing like anything else I have ever owned. The quality is not there, just horrible!
Terrible, fake exhaust outlets? Nothing worse than a buzzing, coffee grinder-sounding 4 cylinder. Not worthy to have a Buick badge. Another substandard, over priced, rushed to market, garbage can.
Buick is usually near the top. But the media rather push other more expensive brands like the Japanese economy suvs. Japanese brands fail to regain footing: Once regarded as the gold standard in quality, most Japanese brands have not improved as fast as competitors have and they continue to trail most Korean and domestic brands. Mitsubishi (148 PP100), Lexus (159 PP100) and Nissan (161 PP100) are the only Japanese brands to rank above industry average. “W. Sure enough, the evidence suggests our 2.0-liter turbo Santa Fe was suffering a major case of heat stroke in the 98-degree swelter and thin high desert air. The SAE J1349 weather correction formula we use to normalize all test results to room temperature dry air at sea level conditions has proven to be impressively accurate at correcting for widely variable conditions on naturally aspirated cars. It's also proven competent at correcting for reasonable temperature and pressure deviations on turbo- and supercharged vehicles and hybrids. But when an engine and turbo intercooler circuit get too badly heat-soaked, the engine controller starts pulling spark advance to prevent knock, which is hard to compensate for with math. That's when you end up with a 235-hp, 260-lb-ft turbocharged engine that can't keep up with its 185-hp, 178-lb-ft naturally aspirated sibling. All vehicles tested were loaded to Ultimate trim spec, and both the hot and cool 2.0-liter turbos feature HTRAC all-wheel drive while the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated cars are both front-driven. Despite still enjoying a 3.5-pounds-per-horsepower advantage on paper, in the desert the turbo trailed the 2.4-liter by 0.7 second to 60 mph (9.6 versus 8.9 seconds) and by 0.4 second and 1.5 mph through the quarter mile (17.1 seconds at 82.8 mph versus 16.7 at 84.3). The results of our winter test session at California Speedway reverse that outcome, with the turbo beating its down-market sibling to 60 mph by 0.8 second (7.8 versus 8.6 seconds) and by 0.5 second and 4.4 mph in the quarter (16.0 seconds at 88.9 mph versus 16.5 at 84.5)..."
