Living in the Midwest, with the extra-long driving distances between most major cities, the diesel version would definitely be my preference because of the outstanding highway mpg, which means it will easily travel from Kansas City to Denver on a single tank.
had my escalade diesel for a week and loved it, pretty much got the same mileage of my hybrid mitsubishi. I returned the escalade to upgrade to the sport trim, been a month now, hope it comes soon
I want to get a large 8 seaters SUV + a good amount of space for luggages. Cadillac Escalade ESV does tick all the boxes for me. But a brand new one is indeed expensive so I should wait couple years... I am a fan of your channel btw, great review !!
No doubt its a beautiful SUV and the Diesel is a huge plus. BUT personally I would choose the New Yukon Denali Ultimate. Just something about it looks better than the Escalade IMO. I've worked with both models and just the detail looks nicer in the GMC
@@430-y5p throttle house did a review the Mercedes does a better job but if you're coming from a Tahoe or a Yukon it's pretty much the best thing. And the new independent suspension keeps the cabin from rocking when braking.
I am trying to find an Escalade with a diesel engine for sale. Failure!! The dealer does not know when the cars will go to sale, and it is impossible to pre-order!
Diesel is great. The emission systems kill the motors and major issues possible and around 125k miles they need work to the dpf system. That’s the problem
The Duramax 3.0 is also more reliable than the 6.2 EcoTec3 L86 because the 6.2 has cylinders deactivation (AFM) which seems to be the main issue with this engine where the valve cavity can sometimes not time right and destroy the valves for cylinders 1 3 5 and 7
Yeah and the DEF (and) DPF systems last longer on smaller 4 and 6 cylinders as they don’t have as much particulates to worry about because a 3.0 I6 (or 2.0 I4) would pollute a lot less than a 5 litre or bigger V8
There’s not a huge market for diesels here outside of trucks. Diesels have been wrongly associated with polluting because big trucks and every lifted F250 rolls coal and I think that scares the average consumer away. Dieselgate didn’t help, but I think diesel just has a bad reputation in America for the wrong reasons
Everything is going V6s. Lots of American police cars are hybrids and EcoBoosts specifically for Police Fords. The 2020 Ford Explorer interceptor now has a 3.5L V6 twin turbo EcoBoost AWD with 400hp and does 150+mph plus a 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. Hybrids are becoming increasingly popular in the police car market and in general in America.
I do not understand why GM has made the ambient lighting so simple with so few choices of colors. Why it does not let you use the automatic color changing while you drive??? Also why the ambient lighting is so feint. You can not even see it at all during the daylight. But you can see it in the Mercedes easily during the day. Why, why why????
It would have been GREAT to actually be able to HEAR the sound of the diesel engine at start up, acceleration and cruising speed from inside the cabin of an Escalade, but with the incessant dialogue, the ONLY thing we hear is the person speaking one thousand words per minute. The video gives a whole new meaning to "less is more".
A full tank of DEF should last you over 5k miles, but to answer your question it is sold at nearly every fuel station, Walmart, Auto Parts store, etc. I’ve never had an issue locating this stuff.
Diesel powered transports will be on the road for the next 50 years....and diesel fuel will power all of them. Trying to electrify 10 million transport trucks will quickly show EVs vulnerability in a free economy.
I wonder if these trucks could run on veggie oil with modifications and adding some kerosene to it. That would be awesome, could drive for almost free :D and it’s good for the environment
what the fuck is the point of doing a review of a new Cadillac diesel if you don't even open the hood ? We don't even get to hear the engine ? Talk more about the badges, Im sure thats what diesel fans are dying to know LOL
@@EddieX too many 100 dollar bill flags waving for that one. Especially when as soon as you drive off the lot 5 days later you’ve lost 10% and the it continues down that path quickly.
