Great video! But remember Always remove the fill plug first! I have seen guys drain their diff only to find the fill bolt is either stripped or stuck.

Just did my 2019 Outlander XXC, what a pain in the @$$. Had to remove all of the skidplates to get to everything. No hole in the front (yet!). I did Wngine Oil, Filter, transmisson, front, rear diff, and removed the 4wd actuator to get to my speed sensor (2019) apparently different locations.

They didn’t make things for ease of maintenance

Another great vid, Mike. I have the '21 outlander 570 XT with about 150 miles (240 km). I would assume the drivetrain is the same?

Thanks again! I can't say for sure but would think so, should be able to tell from my videos and comparing it to yours

Do you have the Visco-Lok? If so, is any friction modifier necessary?
@bikermike

How tight did you tighten the drain plug for the front diff when you put it back? you did mention it was lose when you took it off is there a specific spec torque you did to it or you just tighten it up until you knew it was good ?
@bikermike
@bikermike 2 года назад
I just used my own good judgement to re-tighten it.

Check on partzilla

Why did you fill it until it leaked out when it clearly says 250mls?
@mrknowitall777
@mrknowitall777 2 года назад
Because when it starts to leak out its full just like all diffs lmao
@TheSponge945
@TheSponge945 Год назад
@@mrknowitall777 inexperience talking right there. Lol. There is a reason a specific level is supposed to be in there
@AustinHawkes-wo4fu

@@TheSponge945 wrong. Working for a Can Am dealership. BRP instructs us to fill diffs until it start to leak out of the fill hole. Once the oil stops coming out, put fill plug back in.
@TheSponge945
@TheSponge945 Год назад
@@AustinHawkes-wo4fu so since you work for Can-Am that makes you the engineer and expert in diffs? Just because can-am dealer tells you to do, makes it right? Lol. Filling it over the stated amount creates issues where the seal blows out due to the excess fluid and no space for expansion. These diffs cannot handle extra fluid in them, good for you thought overfilling them as its job creation and keeping you busy replacing diffs and seals!
@AustinHawkes-wo4fu
@AustinHawkes-wo4fu Год назад
@@TheSponge945 this is coming right from BRP. Seeing all the differential failures is deemed to be caused by insufficient amount of lubrication. But just because I’m not an engineer doesn’t mean I’m wrong.

Why did the oil of this colour get water there?
@bikermike
@bikermike 11 месяцев назад
Not sure what you meant with your question. If oil is milky colored then you likely got water in it. May need to replace axle seals, or water came in from vent. 🤷‍♂️

What was that spray you used? What’s it for?

Just a bit of brake cleaner to flush away debris.
