Driving mine two weeks now and so far, no complaints with the 2.7. Plenty of power with the turbo. I don't tow, just carry everyday stuff like bags of stove pellets and gardening and tool equiptment, so this truck is perfect for me.
Got my 2wd crew cab 2.7L 6 weeks ago and have really enjoyed every minute. I have taken "Silver" on two roads trips, use it as a daily and for our lawn care business. MGP in the city in about 18 and one road trip I got 23 mgp. Much better than my previous full-size truck. Plenty of room and zoom for me.
@@DeLoEnterprises What kind of fuel is recommended in the owners manual? is it regular? I’m considering on buying a new 2.7L Sierra. Don’t know if it’s true but supposedly the new ones tow around 9k pounds.
Couple years ago, everyone was bashing those ecoboost.... now they have a lot of fans on the road. I owned ecoboost 3.5 and that was an awesome engine. This 2.7 4 cylinders is loaded with technology and are reliable! This is the futur like electric vehicule are! For those saying that they didnt get great mpg, look at the test that TFL have done. 24 MPG ! Dont understand why so much hate for a great motor. With more then 9000 towing capacity, they proof the point.
I think it's pretty cool. I actually like the turbo 4 over the turbo 6, I believe this is an inline 4 so naturally it's a little more torque than a V engine!
Went to a dealer he tried to interest me in the V-8 model and i test drove it. Wasnt happy with the price. Went to a different dealer that had the 4 cylinder and could hardly tell a difference. We purchased it and love it!
I bought mine brand new in satin steel metallic August 18th of this year so coming up on 4 months of ownership, I absolutely love it I have 1,900 miles on it hoping it will last me many years to come I live in New Hampshire so it gets to see all 4 seasons. Great review by the way!
@@Traylors_outside this trucks engine redlines at 7k, but are you gonna run it there all the time just because the engineers says it’s the maximum the engine can handle? I mean you can(or you can try), but don’t expect the longevity of the truck to be that great in the long run. Same thing with towing, you know if you constantly tow with your 1/2 ton, it’s gonna tear it up quicker. That’s all the guy was saying, sheesh.
Trying to see if you have the one with the four-cylinder motor and how did you like it Pull your RV trailer because I have a 20 foot party barge proximately weighs 3750 pounds
How did it pull? Picking mine up today. Have a 5000# travel trailer. No long distance pulling and don't use it as often as I did when the kids were little. So I figured I'd be ok with the 2.7.
"A very light trailer" maybe take 2 seconds to read the tow rating on the door that tells you the actual tow rating... almost 9000 lbs. This engine is beyond impressive, more power and torque than past 350 v8's and can tow almost as much as much as my '05 3/4 tons and you're making it sound like its a car with a bed.
While 9k is decent, thats "Properly Equipped" this truck has less as it's a crew cab and 4x4. 2021 f150 and 11,300 is the new king of towing, and just because it can tow 9k doesn't mean you should tow 9k. you'd be hard pressed to tow a small trailer that's loaded down within the 9k tow rating........The problem is people are over-towing with these 1/2 ton trucks because they are rated for xxxxx lbs. Personally i'd recommend a 3/4 ton for anything north of 8K and a 1 ton dually for anything north of 10K as it's more stable going down the road. Rather have more truck when you need it than less truck when you need it!
@@DeLoEnterprises I never said the 2.7 was a max towing set up. Obviously you can order them to tow much more. The point is its very capable at towing a considerable amount, but this video gives a completely different impression.
Why are you making comments about “people who don’t need a truck”? The 2.7 is as quick 0-60 as the 6.2 and produces 410 ft/lb of torque…. This is a truck and a capable one. In 2010 y’all would have been praising these measurements as top tier towers…. Funny to say the least.
Just because a truck is rated to tow XXXX doesn't mean you should tow that weight. 9K is a lot to handle in a 1/2 ton setup with a small displacement Turbo 4. It all depends on what you're towing, the footprint of the trailer, the wind resistance, how it behaves in crosswinds, it's overall length and tongue weight. Yes this CAN tow a decent amount but I wouldn't recommend it, anything over 8K should be towed by a 3/4 ton, the bigger engine can handle more with ease and wont wear down as quick + you have more weight in the tow vehicle as well. I have a 3/4 ton Diesel and I can tow a lot but I wouldn't tow a big 5th wheel unless I had a dually. it's more stable going down the road with weight.
@@DeLoEnterprises Oh, I totally agree with that! No doubt about it. But, it can most certainly tow more than a small trailer was my point. Thanks for the great video! :)
Quick question I was looking at purchasing this vehicle but I have a 20 foot party barge boat possibly Waze 3700 pounds trying to figure out if this truck would be OK to pull it
I am just looking for a truck that’s built to just drive. 70% hwy 30% city. I don’t tow or haul anything rn. I may take my bike to obviously places to bike ride. And occasionally take some stuff I sell to car shows normally 500-600 pounds worth of stuff in total. So idk if this truck would be worth it or not. Does anyone have opinion?
I have 21 WT 4x4 crew cab no trim badge but has a lot of extras but I’m lost on what engine I have, it’s either a 2.7turbo or 4.3 or 5.3l , so the ad said 4.3, the window sticker said 5.3 and my first oil change receipt says 2.7turbo🤷♂️ don’t matter tho truck is great but I do miss my 07 LTZ crew 6.0
Just got my 2021 custom Silverado about 2-3 weeks ago !! Only probably I ran into is the tailgate, it’s not fully opening or dropping down. At first yes, but now it just unlocks. Do you know what’s wrong ? Or does anybody know. :(
@@DeLoEnterprises I haven’t hit anything or I don’t believe anyone has hit me while I’m around. I should bring it to the dealership have them look at the alignment. Thankyou 👍🏻👍🏻
@@DeLoEnterprises light loads? Also you said a "very light trailer" in the video... do you do any research on the trucks you sell?! It can tow 9000 lbs!
I have been looking for a truck for camping road trips and something that can tow a lightweight camper that loaded would not be more than 4000 lbs plus occasionally a 3000 lbs boat. Talking 4-5 times a year towing the camper and the boat about the same amount. Should the engine have no problem with this? These right now in my area are 10k off which makes them under 30k.
You will have no problem towing any of that with this engine. It’s amazing with the low end torque of this power train how well this truck tows and hauls.
This truck is excellent for people who want a truck, not sure it’s a great choice for those who NEED a truck. I enjoy having a truck and love the turbo motor so far.
you dnt really prefer halogen dnt lie lol theres no reason ANY vehicle in 2020 should still have those lower or higher trim🤣 that trim is trash for that money youre better just getting the LT when the price drops
@@DeLoEnterprises Its mind blowing how much GM, Ford, and Ram charge for trucks when you can get a fully loaded car for the price of the custom trim and its a lower trim, Its not expensive the manufacturers are just greedy,
@@DeLoEnterprises Yeah thats what the dealership tells you, those parts arent expensive at all nor are they hard to manufacture. Thats like when they build shoes over seas for $5 dollars and mark them up to $200 when they sale them.
You lost me at 2.7L 4 cyl. Been a truck guy since I bought my 1st vehicle when I was 15. Yeah, it was a truck and so was every other vehicle I bought. I'll stick with my 5.9 Cummins.
Bought mine 4 days ago.. put 1910 miles on it already... road trip to Texas from Ohio. Averaging 23 miles a gallon and have cruise set at 75 most of that way. Something is not right with yours if that's what you are getting.
"..alot of truck owners these days don't necessarily need a truck.." well, that's one way to NOT sell me on this. You have already established for me that the 2.7L isn't the right choice for a truck because its underpowered to be efficient for 'truck' purposes . So I guess your telling me to go to Ford for an Eco Boost.. aight.. I'm out.
@ DeLo Enterprises From the test reveiws I have read the 5.3 Gets as Good or better Gas Mileage than the 2.7 Turbo 4 especially when Towing or Hauling !
