A quick note about car wash with the track system, if you put the truck into Natural and then push the "M" Manual button the truck will dis-engage the auto stop feature for 30 minutes. I learned that the hard way while going thru my local "Quick Quack Car Wash".
Thank you! For the camera tip. Have been complaining to myself that it would be nice to either quickly flip to the front camera view if you go to drive or at least delay the camera view a bit. There are so many settings on this thing it takes a while to find them all.
Going through a car wash, all you have to do is, beside the automatic shifter, press the M button, this frees up the wheels to roll the press M or Shift back to Drive mode and it's all you need. Must have Sync 4. Also if I am alone, and receive a text, I can just say "Read it" and it will. I never speak a reply.
I have a 2021 F150 XLT 4X4 SUPERCAB 3.5L Ecoboost with the tow package and Pro-Trailer feature. Also, my steering wheel doesn't look anything like yours, and my infotainment features are different, too. Are you driving a hybrid or a Platinum F150? I like your video because there are some things I didn't know about my truck. Thanks for all the great info.
Thanks! Just got a new F150 Lariet. I didn’t know about the backup camera delay. I like it. The intelligent option will certainly save me a speeding ticket driving into small towns on cruise control. My neighborhood has a 20mph speed limit. I set the cruise and it took me a couple of days to figure out that when I passed a 20mph speed limit sign the truck would accelerate to 24 as I had set my tolerance to 4mph. LOL.
@@notallwhowanderarelost2024 Would be better if Ford would allow a percentage tolerance...say 10%...that way, hit a 20MPH area and extra allowance would be +2. Hit a 70MPH section, and extra allowance would be +7. That is how I drive. The wife used to work at a cop-shop and the general tolerance they would set when trolling for speeders, was more along the lines of percentage. 5 over in a 25 zone is much less tolerated than 5 over in a 70 zone. Regardless, I tend to set for 5 over, then add to it when I'm at the higher speeds. Even 5 over in a neighborhood, will rarely get you a ticket, but I still try to drive at 25 in neighborhoods in respect for kids being about.
My truck has the 2k pro power on demand and it defaults to on each truck start. I hate that because the fans on the inverter is so loud. I have to enter the touchscreen and turn it off each time. Wish Ford would have an option for this to be disabled at start.
I found that Intelligent Cruise Control is supplemented by a database and, unfortunately, that database is not up to date for my area. I found several locations where the database registered other than the posted speed limit. One location is on a newly rebuilt highway that bypassed a small community when rebuilt. When I hit the bad database location the system dropped my speed to 25 mph very abruptly even though the actual speed limit was 65 mph. Another location that I found drops what should be a 55 mph speed limit to 40 mph, not so severe a difference but still annoying because in keeps it at 40 for about a tenth of a mile and then accelerated back up to the actual speed limit. I disabled the system when I found the 25 mph location and nave not used it since because it would be an unsafe condition if I was being followed by another vehicle at 65 and my vehicle suddenly dropped to 25 mph. Before I disabled it, I also found a location where the system interpreted a county road marker as the speed limit sign and set my speed to the road number. In all case the anomalies were repeatable which is why I know the system is supplemented by a database.
i have had the same thing happen and then i figured out it was reading a speed limit sign on the frontage road , so now i just tap the set button again before it slows down.
Yep I do that too. It's nice to have if you aren't paying attention, but usually I like to slow down before hitting the lower speed. Too bad the truck can't do that for me 😭
If you suddenly find yourself being slowed when you shouldn't, you can simply use the accelerator pedal to maintain the speed you want. This way, you shouldn't suddenly drop from 65 to 25, but rather just a couple MPH until your foot gets to the pedal. We should all not forget that we should always be in charge and ready to take over from the technology.
I really wish you could turn on the cameras while moving. Several times I have been going through a tight spot and want to see the 360 view, but it tells me it is disabled until I stop.
Thank's for sharing. I have basically the same setup as you for 2022 but don't seem to have the Intelligent cruise control option. It has the speed sign option, tolerance option and adaptive cruise control, but the two together don't seem to do anything.
Thanks for these helpful hints for the f150. have you had any problems with hauling something in the bed and cant reverse the truck with the bed in the down position?
things i don't like that i cant seem to change is having the ambient lights come on if the fob/key is close to the truck, i hate when the truck is running and you open the door, the truck freaks out and makes a bunch of audible noises and alarms you cant disable, like just relax.. and when i was driving in the winter, the sensors got covered in snow and ice, shocker i know.. and wouldn't even let me use cruise control because of the adaptability im sure, super annoying on a long drive.
I failed to remember the model of the Powerboost you have but did you lose the Power Flow option in Features after the May 2023 Ford update (MY21 XLT is gone) ? No mention in any of the Ford Pass descriptions. TY
On the features tab now I just have the icon which displays if I want generator mode; prior in addition to that there was "Power Flow" which displayed the F150 chassis which displayed if the vehicle was running on Hybrid "gasoline" or battery "Electric" now I guess you have to look at display on dash and see if your "Tach" and "Oil"are both at zero
@@notallwhowanderarelost2024 I checked version on my F150 and has the same 4.2.4 so I guess I can add that to list whenever I get my 2 year wiper recall fixed
