Mark - I have this same bike and recently upgraded the (heavy) wheels with a set of Industry 9 Enduro S28h wheels/Hydra hubs and a e*thirteen carbon riser bar. What a difference!! Dropped 1.5lbs of weight, got better engagement, and the carbon bar really decreases vibration in my hands. Totally different and better bike with these upgrades. Ride On!!
Great review man! I’m just looking to get myself my first full-suspension bike and the Trance X 2 seems to be the best for me. So, after 9+ months using it, do you have any issues / down sides with that bike? Thanks bro. Good vibes from Mexico ✌🏼
Great video. Looking to pick one up but I think I am going to wait until next season. What are your thoughts on the bike now that is is a month after your video was posted?
Great video brother! Looking forward to more content! Keep it up! I just recently started pedaling MTB a couple months ago as well and purchased a Giant Trance 3 29er. Love it so far!
Nice Video, Our LBS has this one and the Trek Fuel Ex7 in stock. Also the DTC brand Fezzari has Cascade Peak. All of the bikes have same price but Fezzari offers better components. Fezzari is going to take longer to deliver , So may pull on Trek.. Not sure yet
Beautiful 😍 bike, just sold my stance 2. Progressed and need/want a better trail bike. Can't wait to get a hold of a trance X. 🤙 Btw, what size did you get?
@@Keithmeister9 at 5.9, 5.10 you should try out an L frame. You might be surprised how that feels. Most riders within an inch to 2 of the next size go to the larger frame feels better with the longer reach. Try both sizes if the bike shop has them.
@@Keithmeister9 that's true but for the extra room, u may have to spend more; swap for a shorter travel dropper post if fully extended is too tall for u, the large will usually come.with a longer travel post...as well as a shorter stem if the reach if too far out. That's what i had to do for my bike when i go up a size large. Im 5'9" as well.
Hi! Great video! How about uphill performances compared to a front mtb? Is it so different and hard to go uphill? Thanks for your attention and stay safe
Great Video, now I am desperate to buy a Trance X. Your are all the fortunate, here in Germany the first Bikes will be shipped in February or March 2021. To bad Germany is not considered Trance X worthy 😂😳
I'm glad you chose mountain biking as its really a nice sport and yes, it will get you connected with nature. I think you chose the right bike for your situation. Not that I don't like the Hightower, I own one but I know they are hard to get. But I know you'll enjoy the Giant, its a really great buy and your money goes further with Giant. Greetings from a Colorado youtuber.
Appreciate you watching! I actually subscribe to your channel and learned alot about the Hightower through your vids. My heart is still set on the Hightower. Just something about the look and feel of a Santa Cruz bike that I love, even though a bit overpriced lol ill be releasing a video soon about why I chose to wait for the Hightower. Keep pumping out the great content!
Great review, I think you've answered all the questions I had about this amazing bike. I'm looking forward to an update video to see how the Trance X is holding up after a few months of riding. FWIW, I have a 7-year old Giant Roam hybrid bike (with Shimano drivetrain and brakes) that has been absolutely bullet-proof, so I think the Trance X will hold up nicely. Stay safe.
I am supposed thick one up just like this in a couple weeks. I have subscribed please make more videos I want to follow you and see you more on this bike!
I own the X3 in 27.5 Good Gray and Glossy Black .... purple grips, pedals and accents. The only thing that I hate from the bike is the position of the anchors the bottle cage, they are wayyyyy too high on the frame and that makes you use a side loaded bottle cage and a very small bottle.
Nice video! Just got into biking this summer as well, bought a Roscoe 8 which is great but after going to a downhill park I'm looking at the Trance's now. For FS the Giants can't be beat on price here in Canada.
Thats awesome Riley! I can't wait to take this bike to the local bike parks to see how it performs. And you're right, hard to beat the value that Giant offers with their bikes 👍🏽
agreed with the value. I think in the US something like the Ripmo AF, Commencal, etc is the best value, but in CAD the prices for those bikes are converted directly from USD. For some reason in Canada Giant used a much better conversion rate, so they're great value here.
i want one so bad but I'm unable to find one anywhere in Ontario, Canada, people are saying preorder for January to March but I've heard of people being on them already so I don't know where they get them
@@kmart33 I saw there were a few in stock in Magog, QC, so I drove like 7 hours there to pick one up lol at least I had a fun time at Bromont on the new bike! got some cool footage of the first ride
@@andrewnitu SO sick man your a true rider... rather then wait til May I found one in Florida ($200 cheaper after conversion and tax) but I have to wait until December to get it... praying for no snow til Jan-Feb :)
@@kmart33 cheaper? how haha that's crazy, well done! also yea haha let's pray for no snow but I had freezing rain here in Toronto last night so not a great sign :-)
Glad I was able to help give you a closer look! Its a great bike, I find myself loving it more and more each day. I'll be sure to give some more feedback once I get some more time on it. Thanks for watching!
Nice, I just ordered the same bike in XL. I was originally looking at the 3 but felt this was a little nicer upgrade off the bat. Hit up Marshall Canyon in La Verne sometime.
The wheels are pretty heavy. Changing out for lighter alloy or, if your budget will go there, carbon would make a massive difference. I have carbon wheels on my Trance 29er and it weighs 12.8 kilos (28.2 lbs) with out pedals, bottle cage, or pump.
