2021 HARLEY DAVIDSON STREET GLIDE CVO - FIRST LOOK (FLHXSE)
In the video I review the 2021 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special (FLHXS) in the Great White Pearl. This bike is a personal favorite of mine based on both the styling and performance.
In its premium Custom Vehicle Operations lineup, Harley-Davidson has unveiled four models for 2021: CVO Limited, CVO Street Glide, CVO Road Glide and CVO Tri Glide. All feature show-worthy paint and finishes, the Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain, RDRS Safety Enhancements, block-rocking audio and top-of-the-line features and accessories. Pricing starts at $40,599.
Exclusive to the CVO line, the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine makes 125 lb-ft of torque thanks to its 10.2:1 compression ratio, high-performance camshaft and high-performance intake.
With its iconic batwing fairing, the Street Glide is the H-D’s top-selling bagger. Pricing for the 2021 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide starts at $40,599. Features include:
Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate Stage II 3-way, 6.5” fairing speakers, 125 watts RMS power handling per speaker and Stage II 3-way 5”x7” saddlebag speakers, 125 watts RMS power handling per speaker. Bought my 2015 flhxse new have over 30k miles on it and I have no regrets about spending the money. No mods to the power train done to it, just fog lights a touring pack and short back rest and luggage rack. Oh and a taller windscreen. This new one is sweet but I wouldn't trade my 15 for it. 🤠

They spent all the money on looks and feel, it is more like buying a Lexus instead of a Toyota. You can get basically the same car by buying a Toyota Camry but a Lexus ES is a bit more. If you want power only, you can just buy a stock street glide or electra glide and put a 128 in it and spend your money that way. The 117 is a decent step up it is already stage 1.

That would definitely be nice. I love everything about the CVO but for me personally I would get a special or standard, void the warranty and completely build it. This bike is for the biker who wants all the bells and whistles.

@@BarricadeRides The good thing about the stage 4 128/131 is that you can get it covered under warranty and the extended warranty up to 12 years or some absurd nonsense. I would rather that and sacrifice a small amount of power, than be 10k in an engine and it breaks within a year and I am on the hook for all the repairs.

Nice video, I’m going to talk about your problem with the high engine speed that it was showing, just pull the clutch lever twice and the speed drops to normal.

Harley-Davidson has been in development with Rockford Fosgate for several years on this system. Cleaner sound with higher quality speakers doesn’t need as much power because of increased efficiency. Step into a dealer and compare this system with another touring. There’s really no comparison. HOWEVER... I’m a huge fan of the specials. I’m a bit jelly. 😁

Finally moving the stereo one step closer to the Fosgate aftermarket upgrades. Fosgate made sure to not shoot themselves in the foot. I heard the CVO Fosgate. Clean and better than hog tunes but still not as nice as the full Rockford aftermarket.

Beautiful bike. Love the color combo. He cut it off to cover that it hadn't idled down as it should . It should have settled into idle way before he cut it off. My 2020 Indian Roadmaster has remote locking bags standard (standard on all Indian baggers). It has a power windshield, ride modes, why is it you think that HD cannot bring themselves to offer their touring line with ride modes and power windshield? Indian, Kawasaki, Yamaha, BMW, Honda do all as standard. Indian has live traffic And weather overlay on their Ridecommand screen. By the way, majority of people do not prefer cable clutch, Indian has cable clutch too. Hydraulic clutch needs zero adjustment .

Great point! I was just giddy to be able to film it. I dig the colors as well. A lot of the people I know and ride with prefer cable clutch. I know I do. I'm defiantly not everyone. I love that the hydraulic clutch doesn't need any adjustments. I imagine Harley may do the other upgrades in the future. I just like a simple clean bike personally. It definitely idled high. We had our shop look at it and it was a simple idle speed adjustment that got missed during setup. Runs perfectly now for the new owner.

I’m not sure it is an option. There was a lot of people complaining about the hydraulic clutches. It’s impossible to please everyone. I prefer cable clutches personally.

Tires are a very important part of a motorcycle. I don’t trust myself to do a tire change yet. I personally take my bike to Emerald City Harley to get my tires changed.

The hard bags remove with two quick release knobs. But changing the tire is a bit more involved than I would attempt roadside.

Believe it’s due to the fact that the engine really hadn’t been run. It was still adjusting idle speed. Has since returned to a normal idle.

All those options should be on a regular street glide....like the saddlebags locks on the key fob or LED’s in ur headlamp! What ur seeing is an over priced under powered made.....half in China 🇨🇳 product That bike when it’s said and done is mid 40’s to low 50’s after taxes and registration!!! Like he said.....when u fork out the money meaning when u get screwed u want everyone to know u got ripped off!

🛑🛑🛑 Hey folks... I have owned several CVO bikes. Harley throws everything at CVO’s, that the bikes are “really special”, but for a “high priced, high end bike”; why would you sell the bike without a Hydraulic Assisted Clutch🤷‍♂️. Harleys DELETE Baffles me 💯👎🤮

The hydraulic clutch was a good idea. They tried it. People really didn’t like it. Hard to find friction point and no adjustment. So they went back to cable. The takeaway here? Harley listened to their customers.

@@dgrisham42 The customers are who called for the Hydraulic Clutch in 2014; with the Rushmore Project. As for the “friction zone” on a Hydraulic Clutch Bike, the “friction zone” is in the same place from the time the bike was New; as it will be 2 years from now. I ride CVO Limited bikes. It’s nice to know when my “feet leave the ground, I know the bike is moving” I’m sorry, “muscle memory” over time will kick in, and I know exactly how the bike will perform over and over. The Non Hydraulic Clutch requires “constant attention” and adjustment yearly to monthly, and your dealing with a moving target each time you pull the lever in and out; where the Hydraulic Clutch is a “constant”and requires basic service every 2 years. Great Video and Discussion, however I believe the change was a “cost cutting one, not a customer call out”. 😊👍

I don’t disagree with you. I have been a fan of Harley since I was a kid. I love them still. There are lots of good bike out there. I loved my GSX-R 750 until it was painful to ride. Indians are great bikes as well. Lots of people, like myself just loves Harleys and what they represent and how they feel about them. I personally don’t see myself buying a Indian or any other brand. I still respect all motorcycles and builds. Life is short ride what you love.
