This is one of the best reviews ever! I love the fact that you are completely honest about what you think of the rackets, that's not always the case with other youtube reviewers and people can tell that, that's why I think your channel will grow a lot if you continue this way.
I had watched tons of review videos of both the Extreme MP and Speed MP and could not decide wich one to get. Went to the store when i saw the Extreme in real life and i thought it looked great. Fortunetly for me they did not have my grip size so i bought the speed MP instead and man i love that racquet. The paint job also grows on me, looks like a stormtrooper!
I love how thorough your reviews are. I learn a lot each time. I recently learned you’re(Karue) from brasil. So amazing. I was born in Florianopolis.🇧🇷
I just love your reviews!!! Really elaborating on what you like and don't like about the different frames, not a bunch of mumbo jumbo and talking points like on some of the other channels. Keep up the good work!
Hi Karue, thank you from Australia for your racquet reviews, they help affirm or add another perspective to my trying out these and similar racquets. For me at the moment I'm leaning towards the Radical MP and the Gravity MP, MP racquets as for me I don't like too much weight as it limits any sudden need to change angles or adjust for opponents spin and use my own and some may think the heavier racquet gives better top spin however it slows the repetitive speed up the face of the ball that is required for competitive top spin play and so for me probably 290G to 300G unstrung, are what I prefer for weight but can play quite ok also with the 270G Head Gravity MP once I adjust, and have a good relaxed grip on this racquet and hit a full preparation and follow through shot on either side forehand or backhand and as for serving with this racquet it's the only racquet I've been able for a time to get all my first serves in, so I agree with your reviews and just thought I'd give an added support from my recent hiring and playing with these racquets.
It was the right INSTINCT to throw it in the garbage. The only non-playing aspect that I enjoyed about the instinct is the paint job. I find it looks awesome. I love blue, but the line has not been good since liquid-metal MP/XL. I think extending the instinct MP would produce awesome results. Only looking at specs and your thoughts, I think the gravity is like the prestige line in aspects of feel/control, but with a more accessible 100 sq inch head size. I loved the Prestige for the feel/control, but I could not play consistently enough with it to make the full switch. I am looking at trying out the Speed MP/Pro this spring. Thanks for the awesome video.
@@benjaminjensen111 The 2022 version of the MP is the same as the 360+ version. If you like a "power" and "spin" frame with medium stiffness, than the instinct will not fail you. I feel head has better frames, but the pricepoint is great. Do not let my opinion or others sway you from a racquet. Demo and than make a choice.
With all due respect on this review Gravity Tour should be against all these MPs and not GravityMP. Have you tested Tour version ? To me it kinda shits between speed and Prestige MP. A very solid option with more feee power and easier to use than Gravity Pro.
What fantastic technique you have. Amazing. One thing that should be mentioned is how racquets affect your arm and wrist. So many people (me included) got severe problems with certain racquets (in my case the Prestige with a poly) . One of the players here seems to have problems too so please mention if racquets are arm friendly or not in your reviews!
@@KaruesellHQ sorry yes you kinda did :-). An extra feature about the most arm friendly tournament racquets would be great!! I hope manufacturers will take more care about this in the future! Question is if it is possible to produce an arm friendly racquet without the racquet being too muted
@@NachtwaechterSchlafprodukte you can either try adding silicone to the handle, or try a softer string, or adding another layer of overgrip, and using a string dampener is kinda obvious. Best of luck.
@@KaruesellHQ I am looking for a slightly less powerful and more comfortable pure strike 16x19. So I picked up a radical MP demo. It played nice, unfortunately they strung it with RPM blast at 27-28kg ! So I got right away elbow issues. Normally I would play with a hybrid or poly at low tension (±21kg). So, the demo did not give good insights in comfort. What is your experience with the pure strike and radical MP comfort wise ?
Hi, Hello, why not have tested the Head graphene 360+ Instinct MP? what's wrong with this racket? what are the qualities of this Instinct MP? thank you in advance sportingly
Great video and review, Karue 👍 Im looking forward to your Radical Pro review and your thoughts on how it compares to the Prestige Pro and Speed Pro. Thanks
Speed mp is fire, i was playing that racquet for a while until i switched to the new extreme tour. Just something about a 98 i like more than 100. Used to play prestige mp but as i get older i need a little more help from the racquet. Saying this indo have a prototype gravity mp in my bag that i do enjoy hitting with when im hitting with friends who are just there to have fun and hit. Love the content
Great vid, thanks. I just bought a Gravity off eBay but they sent an Extreme so this is helpful. I agree on the Gravity, I didn't think I'd like it. It has a very retro build like and old Prostaff but it hits amazing and easy on my wrist for whatever reason. Thanks again.
Great vid. Just what I needed to confirm my recent purchase of the Speed :-). I added 5 grams at tip and butt cap as I felt a little more weight was all that was missing.
The value of the Gravity line is flex, soft, low RA. MP, Tour and Pro are all very easy on the arm. Speed MP and Radical are both, I think, at 64 RA, which is kind of the red line for players with elbow issues. The Prestige is too heavy. An interesting comparison would be Speed Pro, Gravity Pro and Gravity Tour. Slightly different weights, but interesting trade-offs among those three.
Head with it's 360+ tech is clearly positioning itself as the anti-Babolat with its elbow thrashing sticks. The entire spectrum of Head racquets are far easier on the arm than other brands. Once the customer understands that the 360+ is a base tech, they can just clean up and simplify their naming system: Prestige, Gravity, Speed...etc.
@@K4R3N I own a Gravity Tour and it's my base racquet. However, I am considering adding a Gravity Pro, if I can find one with a slightly lower SW, something around 328. The feel of the Pro is just sublime to me.
@@petershort936 that flex of the Gravity series is amazing. All you need to do is find the right weight and balance for your ability. For me the Tour is the sweet spot. Any further performance can come from stringing decisions
Very nice review, thanks. It's a shame Speed Pro is 18x20 only, I would love to see and hear your opinion on it. I agree that new Speed MP 360+ is great, both easy power and control, both easy deep ball and light and maneuvrable, both stability and comfort, both flat and spin. It has a very wide span it seems to me, I am currently testing several racquets (2016 Head Graphene Touch Speed MP - Sinner, Andreescu, Gauff frame - Ezone Tour, and Speed Pro 360+) and Speed MP is so far my favourite.
Do you feel there is a huge different from the previous version of the Speed MP. Swingweight was increased significantly on the current version of the Speed MP.
@@rockieswin8724 Prior versions were quite head light, and stiffer feeling, so the added mass in the head was very necessary. To play normally with the above mentioned Graphene Touch Speed MP from 2016 I had to add a lot of lead at the tip of the racquet. Try it if you can somewhere.
Hi! This is so far the best review of MP rackets on RU-vid. However, the string setups were not identical, therefore I am not sure that comparison was honest. Next time when you add Boom MP, please string all rackets with same string and tension. Thank and keep up your great work.
Just bought 2 instinct MP's the ones you think people should skip. According to the specs it should be quite good. could be nice with a solid review on the instinct
I have 3 Instinct MPs that are strung with either high gauge Wilson NXT or Head Lynx touch at mid-low tension. VERY arm friendly, a nice nimble, narrow frame, plenty of pop but soft on my F'd up shoulder. Play with what you like - it's very personal.
Full disclosure: the Instincts are my first modern racquets coming off using old Wilson Hammer 7.2s though, so maybe they actually do suck compared to the Speed MPs, but I really just don't have the perspective. TBH I like the Instinct more than my Volkl Tour 6 and Tour 10 (I know, sacrelige!) but that "may" have to do with the strings/tension on those - stiff, and unclean hits cause lots of vibration. Not so with the more forgiving Instinct MP.
Thank you so much for great content! After a long time and many demos I decided on the Speed MP and to be honest I’m glad you liked it as well. I complety agree with you on your comments 😊 How many kilos did you string it with? Normally I would go for 24 kilo. What grip size do you prefer? I’ve always played with a size 3 but then demoed the Speed MP in a size 2 because it was the only one in stock - and kinda liked it. Maybe it was all about the frame but I’m not sure what to choose now 😅
Man I recently came across your channel and I gotta say, your racquet reviews are second to none. Keep up the awesome content dude! Need to try get me a new speed mp now 😅 especially since my current IG Speed mp 300 is long discontinued
The softness and feel of the Gravity Pro made me switch to it, but it's weird, when I adjust my stroke on the (one handed) backhand side, my forehand starts to suffer and vice versa. I've been thinking about trying the Prestige MP since the beam width is the same and the weight is somewhat close. But given that the Prestige MP swingweight is lower (around 320 vs 332 of the Gravity Pro) I would add a leather grip + Lead in the head.
@@userdjee834 No, it is not. The specs are very similar to the past few iterations. Head just doesn’t have a top pro endorsing the Instinct right now so it’s being offered at a slightly lower price. The same was true of the previous generation Extreme. Head currently has several racquet lines with very similar specs and playability. To act as though one is a professional racquet and the other for beginners, or that one is great and the other is trash is just silly. The differences aren’t that much.
Head Instinct MP 2022/360+ with some added lead in the hoop plays better than the Head Speed 360+ which got high grades at Tennis Warehouse. Its funny how some reviewers on youtube have collaborated to give that racket (Instinct) bs. But I have to thank you all as that has driven the prices down on it and so I bought 4 for the lowest price imaginable. You guys have propably not even tried to use it with any good strings in it. Theres one Pro that has through Tennis Spin channel and he praised it. For him it just needed some lead in the hoop. Dont all really. He said it was stable, easy and powerfull... a better Pure Drive. So thank you. Also the most replays in this video are @9:45 where people have searched to see some good review on the Instinct but got tricked. TWU Data says that the Head Instinct MP 2022/360+ has same power, sweetspot, flex, weight and balance as the 2020/360+ Speed. But Instinct has more torsion stability.
The only minor problem is that the real weapon from Gravity line is the tour version. And how different those gravity’s play between them. Give the tour a try mate :)
Great video really helpful Head have so many racquets I have recently bought a Babolat pure strike but thinking of trying Head as friend has one and feel seemed amazing
I have prestige mp. Very Happy with it. Although I have poor tecnique I like the fact that my shots rarely go long or wide, which was my main problem with prostaff rf cvL.
The Head Instinct is more or less same as the Extreme MP. You put in the right strings like Lynx Tour 1.25 @ 54 lbs..... The torsion stability is better for the Instinct than the Extreme. put some lead like 3 grams at 12 and put on a leather grip and you have a great racket.
Great video and love the comparisons. I've played Prestige MP for the past 12 years and love it. I also have some old Radicals which are great but I prefer the feel of the Prestiges. I really don't like the cosmetics of the current models - the older models had more of an understated look which older folks usually prefer. One other thing - I never see anyone with Prestiges on the courts. Vast majority of players I see play Babolat APD or PD.
Having used the instinct 360 MP, I was curious to see what you’d say for the newest model with graphene 360+ alas, no real mention about it which was a bit sad but near the end you did say that it was more of the odd one out given the other racquets do it better. Can I ask what was wrong with the instinct? I genuinely like the racquet and been using it for just under a year. Guess I’ll have to try the radical out which has been on my mind for awhile now!
Hey man, great review as usual! Do you think the Speed MP is a good idea for one handed backhand players? (gravitating towards this one or the Pure Strike 16x19). Thanks!
Good morning, I have a question. Some say that stiffness determines whether one racket is more powerful than another, but others say that it is the power scale or psi that determines it. If you can clarify that for me, I would appreciate it, because it happens that the radical, for example, has 65 RA while the speed pro 2022 has 61 RA, which suggests that the radical is more powerful but when you look at the power scale, the radical has 200 and the speed pro 300 suggesting that the speedpro is more powerful. Thank you very much for answering .
Just ordered a 360+ Prestige Pro, I demoed the MP but like you mentioned in the video, didn't care for the low launch angle of the 18x20. Much more prefer the 16x19 launch angle of the pro. May add a bit a of weight to it to get some more power out of the smaller frame.
Great thanks, just confused what is the difference between SPEED and RADICAL. both rackets seem to be perfect for everything. Why do you as an far advanced player like Speed even more?
what can you say about the old head youtek ig speed mp, 18x20, 315 gr, 20mm beam? Im looking for an arm friendly control raquet...im using liquidmetal radicals and prestiges and theyre killing my elbow (golfers elbow)
You got a very good game. I'm interested in watching your usta matches. I'm a prestige mp user and tried the radical mp graphene 360 today. I was surprised I found it better than my prestige. I'm thinking of switching.
Nice work Karue, I would like to know what was your play tester in the vid preference as I have a one handed backhand as well and I used to play with a speed 360 pro the previous version.
Great Review Guys, i have a cuestión. I'm 28 years old and i actually used a Wilson KFactor 90 340grm and my style is agressive and go up at the net whit good Serves (Flat, Slice and Kick), a one-hand Backhand. I'm looking a control raquets, Do you recommended a Head Prestige 320gr 18x20 or a Yonex VCore 95? I don't like the vcore 97 because make me so slow to move my arm. Thank you guys
Love your videos. Just subscribed your channel. Do you plan on to do the similar videos for Wilson rackets? I play with blade 98 v7 and would love to hear your thoughts on wilson rackets. Again love your contents
Great video. Currently playing with Babolat Pure Aero but thinking it's a little too heavy for me. Might demo Speed based on your review. Would you happen to remember the stringing on these rackets when you played them? Pattern, tension, etc. Would be much appreciated! Thanks.
I do not understand Head's marketing strategy. All the racquets have Graphene 360+. The head sizes and shapes, beam widths, string patterns, stiffness indexes and weights/balances vary. But since they are made from the same materials, if those materials do not suit your game, then the entire line may be of no interest to potential buyers. In many ways, it is too much of the same material; more variety of materials might broaden the appeal of their products.
G 360+ is just a marketing name. basically it's all carbon fibre layers glued together with epoxy and baked in a mold. where you put what carbon fibre layer, its orientation, properties of that particular carbon fibre, that's what makes them all different - layup of the racquet. then frames bend at different spots and in different way, different mass distribution, vibration characteristics etc.
