2021 Hunting in Texas, ran low on ammo so did not hunt allot this year; bought new ATN 4K Pro scope in October, only three videos taken with new 4K scope in this video. Thinking new scope will give some great videos.
Excellent shooting, keep up the good work. I've seen first hand the damage this invasive species can do overnight. They can turn over acres of crops and lawns better than a John Deere pulling multiple plows!!!!!
10 or 11 of these wild hogs tore up my backyard lawn in Florida around a year ago on the Treasure Coast just 20 miles off Atlantic Ocean. HOA had to hire and expensive trapper to catch and kill them. Now I'm on the hook for around 35 pieces of new Sod etc. They are extremely destructive. And dangerous. That is why I enjoy watching videos like this one. Keep up the good work. And I feel for the Florida farmers that are fighting these wild Hogs too. Many are just getting by!!!
Excellent marksmanship and proper gun handling keeping your rifle on safe until ready to shoot. I like seeing people who believe in shot placement to put them lights out. Keep it up.
I really enjoy making these videos for people like you that know what they are looking at. Thanks so much for your comment. Yes Sir, shot placement is the key. Love this. I know the hogs need to be taken out, but I so much prefer seeing the surgical precision you use. Not only is it more humane, (which I believe indicates a more HUMAN shooter), I absolutely love precision shooting. I also imagine they taste a ton better with no adrenaline pumped into their system. What do you use rifle wise? I'm love how you just drop them like hitting a switch. You've got a new subscriber here. Keep on pin pointing!

@@tomhjr63 its crazy how they adapt to there environment. I was in Saskatchewan a month ago and saw some on the border with North Dakota, it was chilly and there was snow on the ground. The border agent who i talked to said they are seeing a explosion of them up there in a few counties and provinces ,but nobody is really hunting them.
@@dannysharp3729 I’m in North Dakota, about 60 miles from the border to Canada. I remember about 4/5 years ago I heard them talking on the news about all the hogs that were (supposedly) on their way down here. Not a pig anywhere yet, that I’ve seen or heard of. Kinda figured those pigs might be strictly Canadian bacon, heh, heh. We’re just waitin for them here, and our northern neighbors live under a lotta gun restrictions. Safer for em up there, I bet.

Yes Sir, I just hear that the process of getting one has just become easier. Something about the start of ATF eForms. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
Good eye buddy that is exactly what it is for. What you are seeing is a sheet of cattle panel or some people call it animal proof fencing. The square holes are 8” x 6”. We put that under all the feeders so the hogs will not rut a large hole there. We have heard of feeders falling over due to the rutting. Without the panel, hogs and raccoons will have a water hole or mud bath there in a very short time. Other animals tend not eat water soaked corn. Sometimes we put down two pieces of panel to keep the holes even smaller. Thanks again for your comment and thanks for watching.
Great shooting. Do you use sandbags on the blind window or another type of gun rest? Also, do you have a rest for your right elbow if you shoot right handed?
Thanks for your comment and question. Let me first say, I really enjoy making these videos for people like you that know what they are looking at. In either one of my 4’ x 6’ box blinds, I just rest the rifle on the wooden window opening. In order to get a clean video without making viewers sea sick, I use a “BOG Havoc Shooting Stick, Bipod” just in front of the trigger guard to steady out the rifle. Without the bipod sticks the video jumps around instead of the smooth moving like you would see in a regular video taken from a camcorder. Good question buddy, thanks for watching.

@@artsmith103 I am not sure of a good or better bullet or one grain over the other; I would just recommend using a polymer tip bullet. Because, upon impact, the plastic drives into the hollow point and the bullet performs like a standard hollow-point, expanding ("mushrooming") to a larger diameter. These bullets possess the aerodynamics for longer, more accurate flights, and the in-target performance to ensure high lethality.

Thanks for your great question. We live in a small community with mostly cattle farmers; the game warden eats breakfast at our only restaurant in town and can be found there and talked with. I will ask him again about this, years ago I asked and there was no chance of that happens. I am not sure about the use of poisons in this area today, like back then, I don’t think it could be hidden or someone would be licensed to use it because of all the “By” kills including the cattle, deer, squirrels and protected birds of prey along with ducks and fish getting into bait that is poisoned or animals lying dead in the fields. I will get an update from the game warden or just talk to some of my hunting buddies that are closer to him and land owners. Thanks again for your question and thanks for watching.

Thanks for your question and thanks for watching my videos.
Hope you enjoy your new scope. Let me know if there is a question you think I might be able to answer. Here are some tricks I have learned and use a lot. Tip 1; Hold the back button down while turning zoom wheel to change brightness setting, I keep a setting of 1 at night time because anything brighter will jack with my eye in the dark. Tip 2; When zeroing the scope, after the shot at any zoom power, zoom to full power before going into “Zero Reticle”. Doing this the reticle will only move a point at a time, there for you will be making small moves as you zero the scope. And before you shoot again, back out of “Zero Reticle” and put your zoom where ever you like it. I have two different bullets and four saved settings. Both bullets are saved and 75 yards and saved at 120 yards. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
I love animals, but found this very satisfying to watch. They are destructive pests that need removing. Would a silencer make a difference? Great work.
Well said, most all the hog hunters I know are animal lovers just like me and my wife. These animals are so destructive to our 300 acre cattle farm but are year round fun to hunt for us along with family and friends. If it was not for the free meat we get while thinning them out we would have to look at a more professional way of removing them. I know a few hunters that use silencers and they say it is not much help because a large bore rifle stills has a unnatural boom in the woods that sends them running. I really enjoy making these videos for people like you that know what they are looking at. Thanks so much for your comment.

I have hunting buddies that use suppressors, and it turns out that the hogs hear the unnatural sound of the shot and the cycling of the rifle and they all run off anyway. Sometimes they will come back out in 15-30 minutes but that is not always the case with or without a suppressor. Ammo is hard to find today even more so the subsonic rounds and at a price we can afford. So for now I am doing okay without a suppressor and able to put money towards other equipment like ammo, illuminators, corn and protein feed and fuel for truck and tractors to keep my hunting area clear and clean. Maybe someday soon I will get the chance to purchase a suppressor and the subsonic ammo to add to my hunting arsenal. Thanks so much for your question and thanks for watching.

Thanks for your question; No Sir, we are not into exterminating the sounders. We will only take eating size hogs or boars. What you are seeing is what piglets are trained to do if the sounder see or hears a threat. The piglets will run to the closest large pig and lay down as not to be seen and stay motionless until the sounder runs or restarts eating. You can see, as the large hog expires, his leg straightens out and touches the piglet, causing the piglet to run towards the other hogs in the sounder. Good eye and thanks for your concern. We do process all the wild game we harvest or give it away to family and friends.

Other than making our own hamburger meat; we have stew, roast and my favorite “Sweet-N-Sour Pork”. Have not bought hamburger meat sense we started in 2013. We are able to supply family and friends with free meat. The larger boars go to someone in town that cleans them and then charges a small processing fee for his work on the meat, and yes people do buy him out. After we harvest all the meat we can, dead hogs are taken to the very back of our 280 acres where the buzzards and other predators consume them. Hope I have answered your questions. Thanks for watching.
I agree! In Texas you do not need a hunting license to harvest feral hogs in most cases. Everybody that I know of hunts other game so we all have a hunting license. If someone in Texas is only going to hunt feral hogs, they would not need a hunting license as long as they are on their own land or have permission to hunt hogs from the land owner. You will need a hunting license if you are hunting hogs on public land. Texas is working with us, maybe other states will soon follow. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching

Good eye buddy, I did wait until I got a chance to make one shot with two kills. Other one made it about 40-50 yards before he was collected for frying pan processing. Thanks for your comment. More to come.
Awesome comment; So glad you enjoyed a video showing a sport I love. Comments like yours are why I make these videos and post on You Tube. Thanks for watching.
Amen to that! I’m in southern Cali and we don’t have this problem where I live. Hopefully one day I can go to the south on a hunting trip. Looks like a helluva time tbh

I am using an AR style rifle in 300 Blackout. Don't think AAC makes the complete rifle any more but below is a link to what I have. The ammo I use is Barnes Vor-Tx , 300 Blackout , 110 GR. Love that round, mushrooms on impact like a big dog. I am not suppressed and do not use subsonic rounds. All ammo is hard to find these days, might have to switch soon. It’s sad seeing the babies all terrified it’s not like humans aren’t an invasive species of they’re own magnitude. But it has to be done they destroy so much and have no natural predators. As long as it’s clean shots and they don’t suffer too much. I guess it’s the closest humanly way possible to address this problem for now.
Very well said my friend, that is the best explanation I have ever heard or seen. I really enjoy making these videos for people like you that know what they are looking at. Thanks so much for your comment.
Man that’s a great question, however if you were to ask 50 hunters I think you would get 50 different answers. I can only say what I use works good but other hunters would say their caliber works better. I am using an AR style rifle in 300 Blackout which is a 30 caliber bullet. The ammo I use is Barnes Vor-Tx , 300 Blackout , 110 GR. Love that round, mushrooms on impact like a big dog. I am not suppressed and do not use subsonic rounds. One of my feeders is at 75 yards and the other one is at 85 yards. All ammo is hard to find these days, might have to switch soon. Thanks for your question and thanks for watching
@@EastTexasOutlaws Cool, man is a small world. I have some older cousins that live in the Lumberber area. Glad to hear from a neighbor, enjoy your time hunting, it is addictive and very fun for everyone.
@@tomhjr63 Now you gotta go get a bunch of tannerite, bait them in with a hog buffet, shoot the tannerite and watch the piggies fly. I love when they do that! It's expensive but you can get 10 at a time lol.
