BROTHER! You just made my damn year! I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this to work on my base model and your video was PERFECT! Thank you so much. Ride safe!
I have the latest software update 43A(last 3 digits) and I’m not getting anything on my base model. Please shine some light as to why? Oh and I have a iPhone 15pro max. Not sure if due to the type c vs. lightning might have anything to do with it?
So first let me say thank you for this video because I couldn’t figure out how to get my apple car play to work on my 23 Chieftain base and ur video made it simple and quick. Now my only problem is how do I get sound to play through my bike speakers and not my BT headset? If u can assist me with this please sir it would be greatly appreciated….
We have been struggling with both the dealer and Polaris Ride Command Customer Service. I have in writing from them that we cannot use car play UNLESS we purchase the $500 cell modem (we did get a discount so didn't pay that much). The whole thing did not make sense to me because Car play should have nothing to do with their navigation software; and I told them this many times. Seeing your video now really pisses me off because we were made to believe we must have that for the Car play and spent alot of money maybe unnecessarily. Please confirm that you absolutely did not have the cell modem installed on your bike. It is my understanding that some base models....depending on the dealer....may or may not have the cell modem automatically installed even on the base models. Thanks!
Android auto will only work with Ottocast U2 X Pro. I’ve recently added the Ottocast and have been using it with my iPhone 14 Pro. But it is very finicky on the turn on process. Must have the Bluetooth headset (Cardo Packtalk) turned on beforehand, then turn on bike. Then wait 20-30 seconds and the Ottocast will finish booting up and connect to iPhone. Make sure you don’t have any other devices or phone connected to the RC. (Only the headset). I’m not an android user or else I’d try the android auto.
@SquirrelAction the crazy part is that I use the OTTOCAST now on my base challenger but it needs to be connected. I have never seen anyone do it the way you show it just a charging cord to the phone to the cubby hole interface..
I just spent a day trying to do this and even had the dealer working with me and tech support called too. I have a 2023 base model so maybe they changed things but I’m being told you can’t use CarPlay without the modem installed. Even then it’s not working. Finally I had to download their nav and then I could use CarPlay with my maps on the iPhone.
