2021 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4 

You can actually close the power liftgate 3 ways: 1) by pushing the rear power liftgate button on the left side of the cargo area. 2) with the key fob, this opens and closes it. 3) the liftgate button by the light controls, this opens and closes it also

I purchased my 2021 Cherokee with the elite package two weeks ago. I love it

So look on the left side of inside of the back for the assistance to close the tailgate. You said the tailgate is not assisted to close. Cherokees, unless, it is the latitude, does have that feature. Just a FYI.

The truck button to close it in the back is on the side of the car on the left!

You can also use your foot to open and close the rear gate

You closed the back door manually ! , just letting you know there’s a button on the side for that because it’s automatic !

So no transfer case for low range so not real 4x4 but more like all wheel drive like Subaru, right?
