2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 Detailed Ride Review - The Dream Realized? 

The most affordable BS6 bike from Kawasaki is priced at a rather steep Rs 3,18,000 (ex-showroom India). This makes it a whole Rs 20,000 dearer than the BS4 bike. There have been no tangible features to justify the hefty premium either. Kawasaki has just offered a fresher set of colours: Lime Green, Candy Lime Green, and Ebony. Powering the bike is the same 296cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, now tweaked to comply with BS6 emission norms. Thankfully, it produces the same 39PS of power at 11,000rpm as before. However, peak torque has gone down from 27Nm to 26.1Nm at 10,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. Underpinnings include the same 37mm telescopic front fork and rear-linked monoshock. The bike comes to a halt using the same 290mm front and 220mm rear petal disc with dual-channel ABS. Kawasaki has equipped the motorcycle with MRF Nylogrip Zapper FY up front and Zapper S at the rear. Interestingly, the seat height has gone down by 5mm to 780mm now, while ground clearance has increased from 135mm to 140mm. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is fairly basic in terms of features. It gets a pair of halogen headlamps and an LED tail lamp. It still uses the same semi-digital instrument cluster as before. We wish Kawasaki had equipped the motorcycle with LED headlamp and a smartphone-compatible instrument cluster, both of which would’ve justified the premium, at least to a certain extent.
