Awesome job Peter! We can't wait to see the GT version of this soon!!! I am planning a trip soon out to Brantford Kia to close a deal with you and Tim hopefully! Cya soon and once again awesome job! Go Kia!!!
This is the car I got for myself. Same color but with special edition package which includes red seats, AWD, larger screen and some more stuff. It is a great car.
@@BrantfordKia What do you think about Kia’s losing value extremely fast idk that’s a concern I hear often and I’m just wondering if that is something they have addressed?
@@rodneyjohnson580 The last I checked, the Kia Seltos' top trim had a residual value 9% points higher than the equivalent Honda HR-V. There are plenty of other examples. Modern Kia's hold their values MUCH better than just a few years ago.
It is not. There was a Canadian Press Vehicle that made it's rounds, but I assume that was a pre-production model. The red is not available on the K5 in Canada for the 2021 model year.
Me too! We've had trouble keeping the K5 in stock! We have a GT model now, but the GT-Line and below are AWD, and the GT is FWD only. We got plenty of snow, I just need the car to test things!
solly bolly I’m looking at the GTLine AWD special edition with nav smart cruise control and stop and go. I would love an explanation of this feature compared to the regular smart cruise control. Excellent videos. Subscribed. Thanks.
Regular Smart Cruise Control will keep its distance from cars in front and operates at speeds just like normal cruise control. Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go will allow the vehicle to come right down to a stop, and resume again, either on its own or with the tap of the controls. The feature with Stop and Go is the one that I prefer as it has become something that I use in my car quite a bit.
Thank you for the review !! I just got mine today here in Sudbury Ontario. Somehow I don’t have wireless CarPlay . Do you know when can we expect that update ?
The K5 with the 10.25 inch screen is the only car that someone from head office confirmed will have that update.. I'm hoping that they're not mistaken, but I haven't heard of ANY timeline yet. Hopefully it will happen soon?
My understanding is that ALL K5's will be available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto eventually, but I have no information on the timeline of the update.
Interesting review. I loved the car. Saw it today on a Quebec dealership. Have a question though. My wife has the Soul GT Line premium which is equipped with an UVO and tangsten in the windshield. My question is how to start them using UVO system since it only show the symbols of the regular defroster but not the one that is supposed to melt ice ...
I'm pretty sure that my Soul EV clears the windshield using the element when I tell it to clear the windshield.... I'll have to check when the weather turns worse, but that's how I remember it.
Canadian models do have a tungsten element in the windshield and it's AWESOME, but I'm not sure if the American cars will come equipped with that feature. you'll have to ask your local dealer to be sure.
If you mean the heated back seats, it's this GT-Line and above. Also... hopefully I can earn your subscription for showing you things that no one else shows you! ;)
@@BrantfordKia wouldn't vents in the armrest improve airflow to the back? They could atleast make it an optional feature. Along with premium audio and red seats, it'll be a killer add-on package!
@@sreeee I'd like to see rear vents in anything of this size, or at this price point. The stereo is very good on this car, and I think the feeling is that they need to reserve some features to make people want the higher trim line. I might package things differently if I were in charge, but I'd also probably run the company into the ground! :)
For the Kia K5 GT version coming some time December, what is the Forward collision avoidance assist with cyclist detection and junction turning feature? Is that saying there’s a 360 camera, when turning on left or right turn indicators, the camera view appears to see your blind spot?
So, the camera that sees your blind spot is called a BLIND VIEW MONITOR and that is shown on the some models of the Kia Telluride and the upcoming 2021 Kia Sorento. The K5 does not have that feature, but the ability to avoid collisions in front of you, whether that be vehicles, cyclists, or the new junction collision avoidance are all on this vehicle. (keep in mind that the car is CAPABLE of avoiding these types of collisions, but that is not a guarantee that it will. There are many variables to this system, too many to describe here.
I wonder why you guys don’t have the digital gauge clusters in North America, here in Asia and the Middle East we have better versions of this car, I don’t understand why Kia sells downgraded versions of their cars in North America, it’s also the same thing with the Cadenza
@@tutigseg I think it's all a matter of balancing costs and features with competitors. In the U.S. they don't get it at all. I don't make the decisions, so I'm sure they have their reasons, they're not always right in their decisions, but often they have good reasons behind what they do.
@@BrantfordKia yea that makes sense but still these Kia cars are good with or without these features my dad had a 2014 Optima it was so good it had around 180k miles on it until he just traded it in for a 2020 Azera which is basically the Hyundai version of the Cadenza, Hyundai-Kia have been the best brands not just for me or my dad but also to almost all of my family members we only buy Korean made cars :)
Unless you are putting that awkward baby in your trunk I can't follow your logic. Will the back seat door open automatically to put the baby in his/her baby seat?
Maybe I'm not the best parent, but I've carried my kids out of the store while also carrying groceries, or other goods, and when it's wet and dirty outside, I like to put my goods in the trunk first, so that I have my hands free to put the kid in the car seat and safely buckle them up. In that scenario, being able to just approach the car, keep my hands safely on my kid, not have to wave a foot under the bumper, but just stand there to put my goods in the trunk is a super practical feature. The point is, the system works great, and many of our customers appreciate the simplicity of it.
