Standard equipment on all 2020-2021 Kia Telluride models
Kia and members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers (representing a majority of automobile sales in the United States) have ratified a voluntary commitment to make rear seat occupant warning systems standard or available in most vehicles by 2025.
Rear Occupant Alert system uses ultrasonic sensors to detect passengers in second and third rows
System issues three separate alerts to help prevent passengers from being left behind in rear seats

Not necessarily because it it was that way would the alarm go off, no. And the car also sets the alarm off mostly after the car is locked and you start to walk away. It doesn’t always use the motion but goes off when you start to walk away

It's a medical condition called Forgotten baby syndrome. While I personally wouldn't leave my child it's better to have these features than not. Most of the time it's not about bad parenting but a set a circumstances that can bring this condition that can end in death of a child. I used to be like most of you commenting that it's bad parenting until I educated myself on the subject.

Adenoid Clinkal yes it works when motion in the car is detected when you open and close the back doors when getting in. This feature also only activates if the doors are locked. It can also open when the doors are locked and you start to walk away

This makes no sense, if child is sleeping, child stays in the same position meaning he won’t move meaning sensors won’t pick it up and alarm won’t go off so bit pointless.

The car can also be set to go off as soon as you start to walk away and the sensors that sense the key fob will activate the cars alarm if they can’t sense the key fob anymore

Typical. Vehicle cluster alerts her to child in rear seat and she still keeps leaving the vehicle. It took an ALERT on her PHONE to notify her of the child in rear seat. Please turn in your parent card now, ma'am. When your phone takes priority over your CHILD, it's time to admit you have a serious ADD disorder. What would have happened to that child if her smartphone had been elsewhere or in her purse?
