I had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport & this new one is looking better & better in my eyes, but I wish Lexus made it a bit bigger & roomier especially since the GS was discontinued. I now have a 2016 GS350 F-Sport that replaced my IS ten months ago. My IS was roomy enough, but I got to the point where I needed more room. The turbo 4 was smooth & powerful enough, but I'm much happier with the V6 with all of its extra power & sounds a whole lot better.
They made a massive mistake discontinuing the GS. Now I have to look elsewhere for a midsize sedan, and there's a 60 thousand dollar gap in their lineup.
Bought one today for my daughter. $43,400 out of door. White color for body and black inside with premium packet but no navigator build in. Hope my purchase price is not too high compare to the other IS owner.
Oh cool, I'm sure she will enjoy that Lexus! Good first car if that's what it is for her!! And seems like a reasonable price with what the IS models are going for!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed All she want is a jeep wrangler so I have to convince her to change to Lexus. Kid nowadays are so lucky. My first car was honda accord 1982 and it cost only $800.
@@briando4209 Jeeps are great too! It’s always the goal to provide more for your kids then what you had, I hope to do that for mine, but also teach them the value of hard work and the rewards that come with that, like a car.
@MrShoub123 I was shocked to see this comment. Unfortunately, I never did get it. They jacked up the price as soon as I walked in the room to seal the deal. So I had to walk on it unfortunately. It's hard to Find a good car dealership these days. I could have gotten it but not without dropping off a lung, heart and possibly a kidney. Thank you for asking.
Wow I think the digital speedometer is HUGE. I know so many people who purposely get the F-Sport package just for the digital speedometer. Even though the f sport package one is cooler and has more features, I think now a digital speedometer on the base model is game changing for Lexus as not everyone likes a standard analog speedometer.
It's surprising to see how much room is in the back seat for a tall guy like yourself, haha. I know it won't be long before you get your hands on the top dog F Sport!
Yeah I was not expecting that! More room then the BMW 3 series for sure! The IS F should have a twin turbo engine! That'll be awesome to check out! Can't wait for the F Sport cars to get here!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah I hope so honestly , I want it to last for at least 5 years with no problem. I like the turbo idea but I wish they would’ve just made all the base models v6 like the old days.
Yeaaa I’ll pick the 2022 Elantra that I personally like the look of a little more, it’s actually modern on the inside, has most if not more features, it’s WAYYYYYYT cheaper too
I'd rock the Supra over those two as well. Supra is wayyyy faster and more fun to drive! But the RC and LC are more expensive and more spacious. BMW interface is definitely better then Lexus
Very nice car. The styling on this has come a long way from it's beginning. Having this in an AWD would be perfect for most people . 👍 Btw. I've never heard anyone describe black as Piano Black. Haha. What would make you think of that?
Absolutely. Lexus is made by Toyota. They are literarily Toyota's in a fancy body. The IS is pretty much Toyota Camry. You can hit 300k all day long in this car
Thats how you pronounce Iridium. I've heard it pronounced (i-rid-e-um) and (ire-dum). When I pronounce it the other way, people always comment and tell me I'm saying it wrong
I've had mine since the first week of April. I can honestly say the MPG on this thing SUCKS!!! There is no way this car gets 30 miles to the gallon. Love my car though. But don't let Lexus fool you with the bogus MPG claims
Maybe it can if you're just on the highway. Hard to get good MPG out of an N/A engine I think. Maybe next generation they will have efficient turbo engines.
Yeah from what I've seen Infniti vehicles are bought by people that didn't want to spend the money on BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Lot's of compromises. Seems like Lexus gives you a good blend of well priced luxury cars that are reliable and have a classy style! Impressed with the 2021 IS for sure!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I would have to disagree. My 2014 Infiniti Q50 Sport is in my opinion much nicer than this 2021. Too much plastic in this interior and Toyota sharing parts. For a redesign, they could have done much more with this sedan. Not to mention the 4 cylinder is lacking compared to todays twin turbo V6's in the competition
Keep in mind tho, your Infiniti has Nissan shared parts all in it. So these two brands are very similar in that aspect. I'd stick with a V6 for this car for sure, but you can't compare this I4 to a TTV6. Not the same class of engine.
They did a nice job on the facelift, but very disappointed that they didn’t touch any of the engine lineup for this update. Bottom of the segment for me :(
@@BrosFOURRSpeed The 3.5 is perfectly adequate and admittedly, it’ll probably be indestructible. But at the same time, though, it’s been around in one way or another practically since I was born lol. A more modern powertrain would certainly be welcome. Hopefully we’ll see one soon.
Yeah like I said in the video this new 2021 Lexus IS is a facelift version of the previous car. Bumpers, gauges and screen are the changes for the most part
Interesting point. However, by that logic, brands like Lexus, Infinity, Genesis, etc. shouldn't even exist as many of their cars are based on their less luxurious sister brands. A lot of people like the idea of a 'suped up' version and are will to pay more. This one could use an update though.
I guess the Lexus IS still sells well enough to make sense to keep building it. But people do like the fact that it's a Camry underneath but more classy. Luxury brands like this serve a good purpose. They can charge a lot more even tho this car doesnt cost much more to build then its Toyota counterpart.
the interior did not impress me at all, a lot of the buttons looked pretty cheap, gauge cluster looks like something out of a 2013 dodge dart, that touch pad is a giant waste of space, and its pretty useless too, anything i need to do in that infotanment system is quicker and more efficient just being done by hand, just there as a gimmick. also the screen in the infotainment system is pretty laughable, small screen with giant bezels, looks like the top screen on a nintendo DS. i mean theres as much if not more bezel to that screen than there is screen lol. cheapo ugly green lights below climate control buttons, CD player? for some reason lol. all incased in cheap piano black plastic. get rid of the useless touchpad engineers, and use the funding from that to invest in aluminum trim, instead of piano black recycled pepsi bottles. entire center stack looks pretty cheap honestly.
