I built an E53 & it came out to $88k ! Patagonia Red over Macchiato Beige/Titan Red ! Def not getting any dark colored interior when spending that much ! -Skipped the Burmester SS but def added ventilated seats, soft close doors and a few other opts ! Seriously, there are still ppl who want to chill out and be coddled when driving. This is def a GT Coupe 👏🏽

Absolutely fine presentation....TY! I can totally relate to Aunt Christine in the form of my Uncle Doc who insisted I drive his Bill Blass & Emilio Pucci editions of the Lincoln Continental coupe; was I in 7th heaven!!! I'll be transitioning from an E450 coupe to an E53 coupe later this year.

For the price, people would get a BMW M4 that is more of a performance vehicle. People with real money would go for an S-coupe instead.

@@cthis4786 The E53 is the mid size car of Mercedes and has more room than the M4. The M4 is not in the same class as the E53. The 5 series is with the E class. The Mercedes AMG C63 is the competition of the M4.

My primary driver is an E class coupe. It's really a niche market for this car; unless you're a car enthusiast, you're probably not going to know what it is from a distance! You're going to have to look at the badge. And if you need parts, don't hold your breath. I needed to replace the windshield and wanted OEM! It had to come from Germany and it took weeks, but I didn't mind.

My Intro to Elegant American Coupe came in 1971, when two doors up from our home our CPA neighbor let me sit behind the wheel of his MARK III Lincoln Continental. Then he opened the hood, and all I saw was engine, engine, engine (460 V-8). However, in my heart, it could not compete with our middle neighbor's 70' Plymouth Superbird. By comparison, my dad drove a seemingly lowly 70' Ford Torino GT. His secret sauce though, was an engine Bore and stroke increased. How much? You ask! I don't know. All I know is when he smashed the gas, and released the clutch, all I could see from the passenger seat was sky, just like in my neighbor's Superbird. Elegant coupes such as the E53 are nice to drive, but as for me at 61', I'll take a Mustang Shelby GT 500. It would make my dad proud.

I think the point of the options of the carbon fiber the blacked-out trim is for those of us that really love the look of the full AMG hardcore performance models But realize their use case on Normal public roads is pretty Limited. Here you can have the looks you love with performance that makes more

There were V8-powered E 63 (possibly also E 63S, can't remember right now) models for this generation of the E-Class coupe until a year or so ago.

@@Link_1129 unfortunately there has never been an E63 coupe. The only time we had a V8 in an E coupe was the previous generation E550.

That's one hell of a road! Personally, i would prefer to hear some commentary about the NVH instead of going through all the options on a specific car... I can look up the price of all those options... but i can't look up how quiet it is or the quality of the ride.

I had an E convertible & it will always be one of my favorite cars. Can really fit 4 real people in it. Unfortunately it looks like this might be the last year for the coupe & convertible on the E Class.

I have always liked the e53 coupe but I think they need to come in under 100K with options if they want this to sell well. Otherwise just get a full fat AMG for slightly more money. I also wouldn’t have thought of the comparison to the Cadillac Eldorado but I think I could make the leap. I’m not sure if the Germans would like their luxury coupe compared to the Eldorado, but it’s an interesting comparison.

This car is a bit confused. This car should be aiming for ultimate GT, which it does, mostly. However, since it has an AMG badge, they also want to include sporty bits and frankly compromise the car. The 450 has much better interior options, for example. It's the same mistake that Audi makes. If I don't want black in my interior then their GT cars are off my list, which makes no sense to me. As much as I like this car, I would choose the 450 because of the available color options that are more in keeping with the GT mission of this car.

The E53 is better equipped, the LC500 more exclusive and better looking. The performance and prices are similar.

The available stylistic options for the interior are a mile long for you or anyone for that matter... to "dress up" or "down" this car to perfection... so, in a few words, it is stylish and elegant if you so choose it to be.-

Once the 4 year warrantee expires, this would be a very expensive car to maintain. Due to the engine's complexity your only option for repairs is the mercedes dealership. Joe's garage won't be able to work on this.

Power has become merely a question of status. Even here in Germany where you can still use all that power to the fullest extent (it's called the Autobahn :-D ). In reality 430 HP are more than you can put to good use on a daily basis even here. Elegance, on the other hand is necessary. Does an S-Class have to be as harsh as to knock your teeth out over every bump (AMG) and spoilered all over? Is a new BMW X?? elegant? No way.

Cadillac El Dorado? Typical woke biased American car enthusiast. The Cadillac El Dorado was nothing but a really bad handling, wallowing, barge! Nothing like a European luxury coupe like the Mercedes E53 Coupe. Sorry mate the caddy may have had glitzy soft slippery leather, but, that’s it! The rest of it was nothing more than bloody awful yank tank!

It is a AMG. It is not hand built but it is a AMG. It has the AMG enhanced engine with EQ boost, AMG performance 4 matic plus all wheel drive, AMG Speedshift TCT 9 speed transmission, AMG Dynamic select, AMG drive unit, AMG sports suspension based on air body control, AMG Performance braking system, AMG 20 inch wheels, AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather and AMG sport exhaust system. That is what makes it a AMG.
