2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS63 Test Drive Review: A Blisteringly Fast Luxury Palace 

Hey its great see this car way before in the showroom since the pandemic delay, fellow 2018 AMG GLS 63 owner.

I've got a November production date for early December delivery!! Woo Hoo!

What a beautiful and powerful car

I love this car. 603 Horsepower 7 seater, if I get one of these I would drive it on US 19.

The 2019 GLS 63 AMG is the last good one they did. Combining the bold manly body with that big 5.5liter V8 and no-apoligies kind of design philosophy appeals to millions of its loyal customer worldwide. These new GLS models are too curvy and modest. It has actually began eroding some of the reasons why anyone forks out 120k+ USD for a big, V8-engined, 7-seat German SUV. It should have maintained its bold body dimensions and structure, remained at 5.5 liters, upgraded to maybe 650 hp+, and NONE OF THAT HYBRID crap. Hybrid systems should just remain in the GLC platforms going down through the the B-class, C-class and other tiny what-nots. This beastly SUV seems to be going soft!

11:25 Actually, even with the Captain's Chairs in the GLS you can fold all the seats down flat. It is only the X7 where you can't do that.

In the US at least the GLS comes standard across all trims with electric rear seats wit the bench

It’s very nice, but $140K?! My ‘20 Lincoln Navigator was just as luxurious, ranks #1 for Full Size Luxury SUVs, 0-60 low 4’s, and $110K for Black Label, or $90K for Reserve. It also has that bold SUV stance, lost with modern vehicles that want to resemble a bigger crossover. So far, short of a G Wagon AMG 4x4 Squared, which is $250K, I’m happy with the Navigator.

How were you able to do do you a review on it? Are they for sale anywhere right now?

How come the X7 has more space than GLS, man i know that X7 has much better driving feel and dynamics, but damn the GLS is much bigger, has more space for the third row as well as the second row, its among those cars which can seat 7 adults comfortably on a long journey!!! Btw am not a Merc fanboi, i am just a fan of automobiles!!!!

Do we know if you can change the voice command, say for example I want it to respond to a different name instead of Mercedes?

Sounds like you feel that its a great car, but not worth the price (even though you said it kid of is). I also feel that it is not quite worth the asking price. I just bought a GLE 450 in April and the MSRP was $81,000. It has a lot of options that this has. Yes.....I know it doesn't have 8 cylinders and 462 HP but who needs that? Mine still goes 0-60 in 5.5 sec and has 362HP. I guess if I had unlimited funds, maybe I would think about it.....Buying the AMG GLE 63 is not about buying the car....it is about buying the bragging rights to say you have the biggest, baddest and fastest.

The reason newer AMGs like this one aren’t that loud is not because of Mercedes, but because of the idiotic EU[SSR] (European Union) which is cracking down on internal combustion engines. They have to now fulfill all sorts of stringent (and unrealistic) emission regulations in regards to CO2 emissions, and they have to become quieter. There are some harsh new noise regulations coming from this EU dictatorship. That’s the reason why the new W177 A45 AMG is quieter and less aggressive-sounding than the original W176 A45 AMG. The EU[SSR] basically wants everyone to suffer in an EV.

I want to like these big German SUVs, but I can't stop seeing "minivan."
