@Gregg Burke Its about a 100K cheaper than a similar Bentley and 200K cheaper than a Rolls Royce. But arguably more worth it. It doesn't have the ultra luxury modifications of those cars (like starry night ceiling, rotating clock dash, original artwork placement, etc) but it offers newer technology and more reliability. However, I would still say there is a small difference from owning a Maybach vs a Bentley, but between Maybach and RR, there is no comparison. They are on completely different levels of luxury, rarity and social perception.

I was about to say the same thing. Maybach means nothing anymore since MB took it over. Just like AMG. Now any MB with a body kit is called AMG.

AUhills79 I would still prefer them to do a new maybach 57s rather then putting some fancy bits to the s-class and calling it a maybach but still beautiful cars none the less.

@@emt9370 that's not true the 57 and 62 where based on a s class but where very different. The problem was it wasn't working as allot of people didn't see it as a real replacement for a rolls royce or a bentley. It selled really bad. The new idea of "maybach" is that it's a more luxurious version of the vehicle they already have and made to be driven not to drive yourself. Difference is that it has a longer wheel based in the s class and the gls has no 3rd row option the 2nd row is placed more to the rear for more room of the passengers. There are options you can't get on the normal version including different kinds/colours of leather. Also even better isolation. And an amg is a high performance version of the normal car. A normal car with a amg pack is called for instance e220d with amg package. A real e amg is called e63 amg. The engine is different and made by 1 person who signs the engine also allot of parts are different for better performance.

You either embrace the future or get left in the dust. Change is essential for progress.
