I'm just a 69 year old rider with little experience at such things but I like to help in anyway I can. Thanks for the compliment on my content quality and instructions. Means a lot. Ride well my friend.
Love how you always keep it simple with all the required details in your desc or video. Thanks for sharing. Really helps us a lot. And the torque!!!! That’s gold
Really enjoyed your video on fitting your new exhaust, your the only one I've noted that you thoroughly cleaned the underside of your bike before fitting the new one , it's obviously good practice but you're the only one who as do that , you've got me interested in replacing my exhaust on my new mto9 ,might do it after it's had its first service, although I'm quite happy with the sound and performance of the stock exhaust so still not sure, don't really want to piss the my next-door neighbour's but must admit your bike sounds really nice. 👍
In an earlier video of mine when I first got the bike, I was completely satisfied with the exhaust. It sounds great but the looks eventually got to me. How could something that sounds so good look so bad. Gave exhaust paint a thought but the Yoshimura AT2 won me over. Thanks for watching. I'm sure you'll make the right decision when the time comes. Ride safe my friend.
@@OldGuyRidin yeah I've watched all your videos, mto9 and mto7 really enjoy your content and information about the bike and riding and living in general, got my bike looking nice ,a few small personal upgrades but nothing to much ,want to keep it fairly close to stock if possible, anyway stay safe and keep the videos coming ,really enjoying them, especially as we both have the same bike and the same age group. 😀
This is a really good choice. I spent over double for the spark exhaust and the looks are great but I hate all the springs rattling and the yoshi doesn't have any. That's sick.
WickedYetNice, That's so cool! Glad my video will be of help to you. Let me know if you put out a video once it's installed. Would love to hear it. Ride well my WickedYetNice friend.
How's your riding coming along? You were a bit reckless last time I watched. Thanks for the comment. I look forward to one day subscribing to your channel.
@@OldGuyRidin still waiting to get my bike back from Toce as I lent It to them in order to create a system for the Gen 3 MT09’s. Should have It back by next month with some new uploads as well. Cheers to a new season
@@OldGuyRidin not yet. I'm recovering from an ankle injury and had my other half ride it home from the dealership. He's enjoying getting the break in period done for me.
Sorry to hear about the ankle. It'll be nice to get on it and go though. I didn't pay much attention to the break-in. Master mechanics have told me, off the record, that you should ride it the way you're gonna ride it and it'll break-in to the way you ride. Get well soon.
Nice, love the sound of this! And well explained with all the torque specs. Still debating on changing the exhaust as the stock exhaust does provide a good soundtrack. What brand are those guards right behind the radiator? They look very nice!
Hello, great video and beautiful bike! This is the exhaust I've been after but keep hearing people say its too loud. I ride with ear plugs and am over 40 so these days I don't want uncomfortable loud and disrupt my pleasant ride. Assuming you're also over 40, do you regret this purchase now after some time with it or have you gone with a a dB killer of are people just over exaggerating ?
Thanks Jeremy. I'm 69 and also wear earplugs. The sound doesn't bother me. Now if I didn't wear earplugs then I would install the db killer but, right now, I ride without it. Be aware the system doesn't come with the db killer. You must add it to your order. Great question. Ride well my friend.
Thank you for this video and I always like!! I have a question, what you did for ECU/PCM, Did you flush it? or any flush service is not required? I'm still waiting for 2022 MT09, I'm ready to buy it, but dealer does not get it yet, I'm planning to change for Yoshimura exhaust too, I would like to know how do you like and what you dislike. I always enjoy your video! thank you enjoy your ride!!
Thank you Yasu. You can install this system without having the ECU flashed. I haven't decided if I'll have it flashed eventually. I'm waiting for more people to have it done. I'll have a video out in a couple of days with the Yoshimura exhaust as the subject. You should check it out. Can't give pros and cons yet. Too soon to tell. Thanks for watching.
I have seen a few tuners on youtube flashing them now, they're very held back from the factory in terms of throttle position and fuelling mixtures as standard. Nice gains to be had, not just power but all-round riding feel. Still waiting on my sp I ordered in July, hopefully soon. I've heard some complaints of rattling within the can on these, any issues? Maybe just the first few to come out of production. I will probably get this exhaust but the 02 sensor placement needs changing in my opinion, doesn't look good and only reading from one cylinder . Great work on adding the torque values 👍 top man
Not to worry about the O2 sensor. If you go with the full exhaust you should also flash the ECU. You can either keep the O2 sensor in place or discard it. Either way, it no longer plays a roll. Let me know when yours arrives. Stay safe my friend.
I had a yosh system on my '18, love the sound of the yosh and looks SO much better than that butt ugly akra. Just wish they would become available again 😔
Great question Joey. It is suggested that if you install a "full system" that you have the ECU flashed. If you were to go with just a slip on then it wouldn't be necessary. You made a fine choice in the MT-09. Enjoy it my friend.
Mine headers lined up perfectly. I would contact the seller and Yoshimura and let them know. Perhaps they'll send you a new system. Take pictures to back up your claim. Let me know what they say. Good luck friend.
Strange. I had no such issue nor has anyone that I know of. I'd go over my install and make sure everything is in place and tight, including the manifold gaskets. Let me know how things turn out.
Did you have any issues with the O2 sensor wire being too short or barely reaching? It doesn’t appear to be the case with your install, but there is a poster named “Kinky Slinky’ (lol .. really) and his O2 sensor wire is stretched tighter than a piano string.
Maneuvering the O2 sensor wire was a pain. You just need to take your time and it'll fit nicely but snug. Good news for Kinky Slinky is he can do away with the O2 sensor depending on who flashes his ECU. Great comment, thanks my friend.
I don’t really wanna flash anything for warranty reasons but do I have to with this exhaust? It’s the best looking and sounding. But I hear everyone saying you have to. I never did on older bikes though.
It is suggested that when you put on an aftermarket full exhaust you have the ECU flashed. If you were to put on a slip-on rather than a full you'd be okay. Still, the choice is yours.
It is suggested that when you install a full exhaust that you have the ECU flashed. If you were just to install a slip-on then a flash wouldn't be necessary.
How long did you have your exhaust on order? It still is unavailable on their site and its been nearly a year since they started taking money for preorders.
I did not get the silencer. Mine sounds fine. I do, however, wear ear protection so I don't get the full effect. No neighbor complaints or stops by police.....yet. Think you'll go for the silencer? If so, put out a video of without and with the silencer. People will want to know. Ride safe my friend.
@@OldGuyRidin I think I will buy one just to try it. I don't think they are too expensive (about $40usd). I also noticed the backfires are insane! Did you notice after flashing the ecu that the backfiring reduced? Might look into a dyno tune perhaps.
The backfires are still there. What with the fuel and airflow the excess fuel is being burned at the exhaust. Unless you install plates that's going to continue.
Absolutely. Ear protection is well worth it. You can barely hear the backfires. Or the engine roar. And besides, once your hearing starts to go there's no getting it back.
