@@rbrucerye Can't fault BOS, they picked the best consensus available player on the board. Johnston was projected to go 34, kudos to whoever in DAL scouting department hitting on their guy.
Out of all the players drafted in this first round, I would 100% want to be Wyatt Johnston! Playing in the WFCU Centre and American Airlines Center would be amazing!
kent and brant will be the winners hands down of this draft lol also my friends played in the show and played also with Danny heatley. To all the GM’s out there in keyboard warrior land. Next draft watch for Savoie. Shane will go 1 but wait for savoie to develop. and last watch for connor bedard my friends... the next next one.
@@VerbeekTruther I mean he's not wrong. Eklund has definitely regressed since the draft. And Edvinsson has excelled. Regardless of how you feel about Detroit, Yzerman still made the better pick
Jesper wallstedt is the next henrik lundquist the Edmonton oilers made a huge mistake trading down and passing up this kid because Edmonton oilers need a true number one goalie
Say what you want about mailloux but if mtl wouldnt have picked him he would have been draft 2nd round no matter what. The guy worked hard on himself and mature a lot since then. Great pick for mtl. Meanwhile you have 8 players currently playing nhl hiding themself who rape a girl while they were in team canada... mailloux turn himself to the authorities and accepted the consequences and went to therapy to be a better man.
Dumb question maybe. But with these players going back to college after being drafted. How does that work exactly? I've been following hockey, but do not exactly understand the draft rules
So everyone is draft eligible after your age 17 year old season if you're born between Jan 1 and Sept 15, if you're Sept 16 to Dec 31, you're in the next draft. (Late 2003 born players are in the 2022 Draft for example). If you go the NCAA route, the team that drafts you has 4 years of your rights to sign you, and if you go 4 years of NCAA, you become a UFA and can sign with anywhere. CHL (Major Junior) route players have their rights held for 2 years by NHL teams, if not signed, they can go back into the draft or become a UFA. European Pro route players have their rights held by a differing amount of time based on the league they're drafted out of: SHL and Liiga, rights are held for 4 years, KHL is an unspecified amount of time because there's no transfer agreement between the NHL and KHL. Players drafted out of North American leagues are draft eligible for 3 draft years, for those out of European leagues, it's 4 draft years I think.
They violated workout protocols with potential draft picks leading up to the 2020 draft. The NHL fined them their 1st-round pick in 2021 and their 2nd-round pick in 2020. They traded back into the 1st round and of course it was the Canucks who were happy to oblige.
The loyal Columbus fans are extremely loyal and passionate. Problem is, there’s not a large number like comparable markets such as Pittsburgh or St Louis. Part of that is winning just 1 playoff series in 21 seasons, so the fanbase isn’t that large in Columbus. If Doug MacLean had properly rebuilt/drafted like Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington, and even Los Angeles did, the Blue Jackets fanbase would be 3 times as large as it is now.
Some shocking decisions here. Edmonton not taking a Goalie.....Doh! Carolina trading out of 1st round...Why? Even Yzerman did strange shite.... Cossa over Wallstedt.....interesting. There is definitely gonna be some Griffin Reinhart sized busts from this shit show.
