*To me even if filmed in "The Hanging Gardens of Babylon" or the Serengeti Desert with herds of wildebeests roaming in the background would I ever consider this an option.*
Sorry, did this guy seriously compare a Mii electric and a Renault Zoe with a much bigger, more practical and better equipped SUV when it comes to price...
Another great review, however, why would you compare the e2008 to a 15k cheaper car that is not even on the same category.. would you do that with the petrol version? You should compare it with similar cars like the MG EV or the upcoming XC40 electric.. etc. If I'm on the market for a compact SUV that's what I want to hear about.. not some random comparison only because of the range.
Just a small point, I wish all manufacturers would put the opening for the charging port at the rear of their cars. This would encourage you to reverse park.
The push for EVs is so tiresome. In our age of abject poverty why are some people thinking every family has £20k-£30k spare cash doing nothing? Or maybe the politicians supported by the media only want rich people on the road in the future...?
@@didierlemoine6771 is that secondhand price? Typical offer in the UK is £1550 deposit, £269 a month for 4 years, battery cost £69 to £100 a month and after 4 years you don't even own it, you have to pay £5500 as a final payment. This not something a poor family can afford.
Stylish and nice but imagine dust and crumbs falling on that cockpit, and how to clean it when you don't go to car wash..too much ridges and creases, not very ergonomical i'd say.
Anybody have problems with the 3d i-Cockpit in the 2008? I seem to be getting ice crystals forming behind the perspex and the colder its getting the more its covering the display. Anyone else have this problem?
1:40 min - What is the cameraman filming? On te left side nothing but the car is not on the whole image on the right?! I am here because of the car so film the car!
Beautiful car, would prefer it to a German car. But Peugeot think they can price their cars in the same range as premium German cars. They must be stupidly drunk
what do you mean electric 2008 too expensive? you named some rubish cars like twice smaller than this and say this is to expensive? Is that a joke? give me another the same size Ev for the same price...
indeed.. reminds me of the good ol days where I owned and drove 206 - it was in our family amost 18 years / 370.000 kms.. love the design of the 206.. interior wise PSA group cars have improved big time since then..
And first in reliability in UK for 2019,source JD power.Thats insane for a brand who was laughing stock few years earlier in terms of design and reliability.Gilles Vidal is freaking genius.
Stunning styling, absolutely gorgeous. I look for great value in cars and this doesn't seem the best option in that regard but have to give great credit to the designer a pleasure to look at. I'll enjoy looking at other people's from my cheaper car. Cars depreciate so fast that you are throwing away thousands so quickly. How long before its lost 40-60% of its value, 3 years or something. This probably makes a lot more sense as a secondhand purchase.
I Love 💔 it. I Want (1) can’t afford the I-PACE. SO THIS 20008 is it. And I Like the in terriers. But my favourites Colour are Dark Blue. Great 👍 previews
Why would you say 'exactly the same units' when speaking about the head and tail lights when their design is substantially different? LMAO do your research.
Nice review but I find it odd you compared the e2008 to the Zoe and mii? Yes they are cheaper but they are if anything alternatives to the e208. Hyundai's Kona or the e-Nero from Kia would make better comparisons. Even the ID4 or possibly the BMW i3 could be considered as all of these cars have a higher ride height and only have 2WD. I don't understand this SUV nomenclature when all these vehicles are actually Cross-overs or CUV. Time to drop this SUV hype on any vehicle with slightly more ride height.
Philip Manolas oh really? How can 50% of the new car sales in Norway be fully electric if they don’t bring the cars in to the dealerships? Maybe in some other countries but it’s not for the whole of Europe
You are very good at what you do! Have you ever done comparison s ? I would really like to see a high roof van comparison. Im trying to get one and I don't know enough about them to make up my mind. Especially when It comes to price because I'm looking for the cheapest best choice.
And again, no simple real range information. Is it so hard to go 120 kmh and show what the car consumed after 30 min? The aerodynamics arent so good, I guess. So the highway consumption will be the key info the people want of this car, wont it?
@@AN-qi2sm well the e208 starts at £28k, so the e2008 would be AT LEAST £33k, but probably more like £35-36k. Add in options and you're starting to hit Tesla money. It will be a hard sell for many
Sooooo, first car that was the walk around car was a GT EAT8 auto, then the test drive car was a manual, then the e 2008, but no price on the GT? Just the GT Line? Also what about the equipment levels v its rivals? Usually Peugeot are better equipped as standard so where as its more expensive its got more goodies on it.
This style might not be for everyone, a tad flashy. At least I am happy that the grip control option is still available. It is not so effective as a 4x4 traction, but it can help on slippery terrains. Thanks Doug for the review.
bullshit that Zoe is cheaper than 208... if you wanna buy the battery..its more expensive...and its uglier...and you have to pay more for features that are basic on 208...like CCS fast charging
I have the ds3 crossback now and people can and should just ignore what you said about the low speed ride lol i have found it perfect not firm like you say
I drive the first 2008 and it was a good honest car, but a bit small for the exterior size... Hope this one is more balanced in this sense... Still not a fan of the two-level dash... BY the way, I really like the slight humor touches along the review. Makes it more appealing...
The car is still in the process of being developed, the vehicle used would just be a prototype. Peugeot’s are extremely well made, very reliable, you don’t top the JD power survey for reliability for nothing....
It's just the angle of the shot the door runs down the side if the wheel arches so the gap gets a little bigger half way. I have checked it on a real one at the dealers and it's spot on
Most cars in segment seam to cost the same or more once you add similar equipment. The Hyundai Kona is the only cheaper option I found that is even comparable.
The real crucial thing with electric cars is NOT the range on a full charge, but how, where and how fast you can charge it. If Peugeot had 20 dedicated super fast chargers on every single gas station and the car could charge from 10% to 80% in ten minutes no one would need more range than around 150 miles. A fast charging car with shorter range is much better than a slow charging car with longer range, as long as we are talking about atleast 150 miles as a starting point.
Small request, when doing reviews can you state the height of the reviewer. As a 6'6" tall male I need to figure out the space for me, not whether it is spacious for a 5'10" reviewer.
The more i look into SUV reviews the more i cannot understand the use of these type of car. They are supposed to be a go anywhere car and almost all of them dont even come as 4x4, too expensive and all with tiny 3 cyl engines and diesel now in non existant. Its like choosing an iphone over any other phone , which does the same things but a lot lower cost, Still everyone wants the iphone.
I think the review is very biased. I driven seat aurona and renault cap which both suck not only on the driving but interior as well. The exterior pales in comparison to 2008.
When is it going to be when some in the uk do a 1000km test. There are so many done in Europe, it’s much colder, the uk would be a test for the British public.
No, the interior is not impressive because it is identical to 208... and it's boring... a new car should have a new interior - not an old... one, they save money - not impressive.
Peugeot shouldn't have made choices between petrol diesel and electric. Only make electric cars for the prices of petrol. And electric cars would sell massively.
@@sinisajakus6390 Nothing stupid at all. I've owned two Peugeot's with this design and find it to be incredibly easy to use. I love it. It makes those big round steering wheels of other cars seem very old fashioned.
